The amount paid is not up to the total duty, you seek prices before going for your choice, I have post the actual total duty for you expect the running and shipping charges.

So you also aid the low duty payment, in as much I don't support it but we have to be frank with eachother the total clearing should be around #1, 500,000

Did you agree with the agent to do a short payment for you ? If you did not consent to that is not good on the part of the agent.

Try to jack up the duty value for you not to be harassed by customs.

From what you said it seems you didn't consent to it . Your best bet is to jack it up to what is supposed to be given by the customs so you will be at peace . The agent played on your intelligence , though short payment is really going on well now but those that travel outside Lagos may not be comfortable .

He paid 1.4m and deserved more than the 600k surface duty payment. Stop justifying unscrupulous behavior please. That figure is lower than half the total sum paid, so i refuse to accept that the car aided any short-payment.

The 1.5m you're quoting is totally ridiculous by the way, and is a deliberate attempt at being mischievous in order to find an escape route.

The releasing officer will tell you how much to pay as well as how to go about it. (Note ... payment would be made into the same account your duty was paid into) in case he wants to play smart,Na naija we dey people can add more woes on your troubles.

That agent is a thief no caps,at least minimum of 1m is suppose to reflect on your duty.

Yes it is there! My agents advise,reach out to the dubious clearing agent,let him know you are aware of how he short changed you on the duty paid. And you are so taking this up with him unless he is willing to go through (assist in the process) with the package upgrade which you are willing to pay for.

Reason is the releasing officer knew the duty wasn't paid completely before releasing the car to your agent. If will be a tough task for a new agent to walk to the releasing officer to ask for a package upgrade.

If this doesn't work,kindly revert back.

What I am trying to point out is that the agent ought have carried him along depending on what they both agreed on .in this case the importer was not aware about the whole charade .
