It is very painful when an aspiring medical student gets Biochemistry instead of medicine. Take for Instance Delsu----->256 biochemistry student. For me I prefer chemistry than biochemistry. If you know your chemistry well you will get a good job. 2 Likes |

But i seriously don't understand the concept of schools accepting beyond their quota.Isn't their some sort of regulatory board to check those kind of stuffs |

Zeeknow3245: Schools normally graduate more than the quota if they have more graduands, the quota is just there as a kinda flexible guide but it's not the thing most make it out to be. It was introduced as a strict guide and bit of restraint so they don't go overboard when admitting but they know they can go overboard a bit, as far as it's not extreme. 2 Likes |

Zeeknow3245:But sadly not everyone has a choice because one thing i have come to understand is that if one does not achieve the intended medicine goal, the go to courses are either biochemistry or microbiology and very rarely anatomy. 1 Like |

Some schools graduate more than their quota, there is a way they do it. They do the induction in batches, I think two batches. 2 Likes |

Emarvel:Am I lying . The only school to graduate Dentistry students with a quota of 40 is only Unilag. Unilag inducted 38 out of 40. Lasu with a quota of 10 inducted 10. Benin with a quota of 30 inducted less than that. Unical quota is less than 20. They will ship all of them to microbiology, biochemistry, zoology, botany and many more. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Zeeknow3245(m): 9:19am On Jun 19, 2020 |
dunsin125:But you can't induct more than your quota. Even if they induct it can be more than a difference of 5. Imagine UNN inducting 200 or UNIYO inducting 100. I doubt this. As time progresses quota will increase but with time. Nigeria has a huge deficit to fill for Doctors. Thinking they should admit more to cover this deficit but our Teaching hospitals are are a shame. Have you been to UPTH? SUCH A SHAME. UNICAL NKO? AAU? Quite a shame we lack so much facilities. Even Microscope na wahala . Infact medical students in Nigeria Federal schools are trying because they don't pay as much as their state counterparts. Struggling with wicked lecturers. What they train medical students has a deficit in practicals. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by dunsin125: 10:46am On Jun 19, 2020 |
Zeeknow3245:You are correct, most of our medical schools ain't as standard as before or maybe they were not standard. We need more budget into schools and they should be to monitored to utilize it well. |

Michano22:I will advice you not pick UNIUYO. Reason is because they are admitted 127 with a quota of 50. What will happen to them when they proceed to write their 1st MBBS ehn. As Ebonyi, it is a NO NO. Why didn't you pick Lautech? Just Go for it God will help you. |
