The main issue with DDG is that fans have lost confidence in him. Prime De Gea would have saved that shot because it’s actually his area of strength, shot-stopping.

De Gea usual weakness used to be crosses, from set-pieces, while he was guaranteed to stop direct shots at him, but it seems to all have changed now.
