The upcoming new cities in Nairobi and Mombasa are not about creating another traffic and population mess. They are about creating world-class cities that are stress-free - with lots of open spaces - and are self-contained - with retails, schools, hospitals, airstrips, golf course etc.

Tatu city - the main pitch is industrial location - with mixed-residential areas - and a section for office and commercial center.
Northland City - the main pitch is also an industrial location - with mixed-residential areas
Konza Technopolis - the main pitch is technology and research.
Vipingo - main pitch here is industrial and resorts - sit next to the beach - and also mixed development.

These are the way to go. I have bought into Tatu and will soon buy into Vipingo. And once Konza starts - I will definitely try.
