Hello guys,

I think custom duties on imported phone for personal use is illegal.

See this judgement of #5m against custom for similar unnecessary extortion in the name of duties.

https://nairametrics.com/2020/05/14/court-slams-n5-million-fine-on-nigeria-customs-service-for-collecting-duty-on-personal-effects/
it's so illegal. It doesn't even make sense! Charging people to pay 40k on a 89k item.
The worst part is they are not even calculating the duty well and it's very irregular

Jumia is now charging half the price of the item as custom fee on their global items, so dhl still better.

If you want to buy an item of 150k custom fee will be 75k. cheesy cheesy

Hehehehe! That thing is not for customs or shipping but to deter people from patronising those international merchants. That's just the way I'm seeing it.

Guys help me please

ever since I put screen guard and update my redmi note 4 to miui 11 at the same time, i started facing issue with the buttons keys of the phone.

The issue is that sometimes when i am using the device the back button or middle button will stop working, until i put the phone on lock screen and unlock it, which I never experience such a thing until now.

And also before the update the phone almost never get hot but after the update i realize the phone take hot especially when using opera.

Please gurus in the house what do you think is the issue.?

You can delete it if you it have already updated. Usually it is supposed to auto-delete after an update, it seems Xiaomi have decided to start keeping the files in case you want to reinstall if you notice a bug.

It'll auto delete after sometime. I think it's there as a fail safe or backup.

Anyways, I can't see any justification for their arithmetic. I might be wrong though.

The usual gbas, gbos. Just that this time around, there is one troll like that, he made the mod delete the thread after starting several fights. One guy even did some forensic investigations, and proved to all and sundry that the new troll was none other than that miserable lawyer wannabe. Since the return of the thread, his pay masters have given him a mandate to resume here every morning; make outlandish claims, lie through his teeth, and to derail the thread. He, or rather it, has been desperately trying to get our attention, but we have decided to ignore it like the malfunctioning, pathetic thing that it is; because unlike it our lives don't revolve around nairaland.
