ahiboilandgas:There are many billionaires in Kwari market. Mudassir can never make the top 50 richest in the market 10 years ago, but today, he must be among the top 10 active players. He is living in my locality at Gorondutse, his residential building could worth 200m. Heard he is building a textile mall in Abuja, have in Kaduna and almost 10 in Kano. Kwari market in Kano, can easily transform someone struggling into a billionaire overnight as Chinese were banned to operate shops there. So, if Chinese found you trustworthy as a market player, they will be sending containers of textiles to you, your commission is per piece of a textile sold. 13 Likes 1 Share |

DexterousOne: Even in Agriculture the Investors cashing out are foreigners. Okomu Oil and Rubber, Presco are owned by foreigners. Foreign Investors at Okomu cash a total dividend of about N4 billion and management service fee of N1.5 billion. In Presco, the cashed out dividend of N1.2 billion and management service fee of about N1 billion. Just last week South African Institutional investor cashed out a dividend of over N3 billion from Dangcem. 3 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:43pm On Jun 21, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas: They don't need to invest outside Nigeria. Friesland Wamco makers of peak milk is a Dutch company, their company makes a minimum profit after tax of N10 billion from a revenue of over N100 billion every year, they are also empowering Nigeria farmers and cattle ranches. Promasidor the makers of Cowbell is a South African company making billions of Naira and also empowering farmers. Olams is also very big in Agriculture. UAC used to have investments in Agriculture but they are not getting it right. Our institutional Investors need to identify opportunities and invest in such, they have the resources to carry out necessary feasibility studies and management of such opportunities 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Cyberknight: Okay just did a Google search, they can invest in bonds, Treasury Bills, stock market, real estate, cash and alternative investments. They make quarterly returns to PENCOM, it will be very difficult to monitor foreign investments. But PENCOM allowed foreign Investors to invest in some of the Pension Fund management firms. Actis just became the major Investor in Sigma Pension |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Cyberknight: 7:04pm On Jun 21, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas: True. A lot also depends on the interest rates where they would be going and the kind of instruments, many countries "sterilise" fdi flows by requiring them to remain in the country for a specific period, so any such investment would have to be really worth it. Actually, until the tbills rate was cut last year, investing in them was a no-brainer for the PFAs; there was really nowhere else where such interest rates were on offer for a reasonably low risk. 1 Like |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by DexterousOne(m): 7:33pm On Jun 21, 2020 |
emmanuelewumi: Since the foreign investors are here It's a no brainer that our own fund managers should dedicate a portion of their portfolio to foreign investments out of the country too There are very big deals that can be struck abroad They should look into that |

But for most of us in this TB thread looking for bond, sukuk and mutual funds, we are on preservation mode which is why ahib and perhaps conglomerate are also trying to let us know that there are many other ventures for those who are young to try out with better returns DexterousOne: 1 Like |

The biggest pension fund manager has over $7 billion under management that should be over N2.5 Trillion, the smallest ones have about N300 billion under management. I see no reason why 10% of such funds can't be Invested in growth sectors that can create long term wealth 1 Like |
