They don't need to invest outside Nigeria. Friesland Wamco makers of peak milk is a Dutch company, their company makes a minimum profit after tax of N10 billion from a revenue of over N100 billion every year, they are also empowering Nigeria farmers and cattle ranches.

Promasidor the makers of Cowbell is a South African company making billions of Naira and also empowering farmers.

Olams is also very big in Agriculture. UAC used to have investments in Agriculture but they are not getting it right.

Our institutional Investors need to identify opportunities and invest in such, they have the resources to carry out necessary feasibility studies and management of such opportunities

The ROI is in Nigeria

We just need to start and join the portfolio guys

Loooooool

They are just intellectually lazy, our problem is short term thinking.

More wealth can be made by them and more people, when they Invest in enterprises or ventures that have the ability to create multiplier effects

Nollywood and our music industry are big brands

The Dangote Group is another big brand

Dangote is known continent wide

Then we talk of the banks

UBA, First Bank GTBank and the list goes on

Then we also have Innoson growing his brand on the continent

These are just few of many

I remember in Ghana
I had an associate who had nothing good to say about Nigeria and Nigerians
For those of us who frequent Ghana
We know that type of Ghanaian

So I asked him what bank does he bank with

It was a Nigerian bank

Very hilarious story j tell u

A number of Ghanaians actually have that feeling towards Nigeria.

Yea

I personally mingle with the upper echelon kinda ghanaians
But still among them

There are a couple who are biased against Nigerians

Charity begins at home, if you are not innovative here you cant be innovative abroad. I also believe this is the place for the institutional Investors to get great returns

Great returns could also be gotten abroad as well.

Investing in the america tech space for example has created billions of dollars in value for institutional investors
Much more than can ever be imagined to be made in Nigeria

Investing in hotel chains in say UAE is another money spinner

There are opportunities out there

Our Nigerian institutional investors have to go out there and have a slice of it.

That's my thought

I am not sure you are aware of what happened during the dot com era. Pension funds can't be used for speculative investments, but we need to strike a balance between safety and sustainable returns on investment

Since the foreign investors are here

It's a no brainer that our own fund managers should dedicate a portion of their portfolio to foreign investments out of the country too

There are very big deals that can be struck abroad

They should look into that

Examples?

Not all hate Nigerians

I'd say some

But there are also Ghanaians who really love us and learn from us too.

I think its vice versa too

Some people just have biases.

That said
Many Ghanaian dont use glo sha

Its MTN, Airtel Vodafone

Examples?

The American Tech space for example

Imagine financing a startup there that then grows in value overtime

For example
A share of Amazon is over $2600 plus

Imagine investing when they still had teething issues.

The tech space across the world is a good start

We could also crowdfund and enter the UAE market
Hotel/Apartments over there have potential
As tourists flock there Jan to December

There are chinese start ups looking for money too.

Opportunities abound

We dont have to be local champions

How can FGN Pension Funds be used in investing Hotels in UAE, Space projects in US?

What happened to the untapped resources in Agricultural Sector in Nigeria that can easily easily employ millions of youthful Nigerians?

Pension Funds are just one type of institutional investors.

If I were a fund manager
A good percentage of my allocation is going abroad chasing opportunities

What is percentage of the dot com businesses that are still existing, less than 10% and Investors lost huge funds

Thank God you said bubbles, I prefer the maximum daily 10% gain or loss in the Nigerian Stock Exchange compared over 100% daily gain and over 90% daily loss in the New York Stock Exchange

There are Securities Africa to mention a few.

What type of growth in the fundamentals of a business will lead to 150% growth in the stock price in 24 hours, or loss of 95% loss in 24 years. Is that not madness?

As for the wild oscillator

That's why it is called the FREE MARKET.

We all know that investor sentiment is one of the key drivers of pricing

That said; we also know that the share price of a company is the present value of expected cashflow/returns to the business

So if the investors believe that the future earning potentials is huge, then they go for it, and it will reflect in the pricing of the stock

150% rise means the investors believe the earning potentials of the business is gonna double over the future

That's just how it is sir

And we all know this

But in Nigeria undecided

Everything scatter scatter

The institutional Investors have shareholders, you don't look outside when you have not fully harnessed the opportunities within.

Dangote went out after he conquered the cement market in Nigeria. He is currently exporting the products to other West African countries.

A hustler or trader can go out of Nigeria to do small business or menial jobs in other countries,. You can't expect this from institutional Investors who might need to make investments of $10 million and above in most cases
