KingAzubuike: On one hand, this soldier is compelling, mainly because of his admirable patriotism and seeming bravery but on the other hand, his words are somewhat too knowing because they are very political. Some may detract from his impact by accusing him of having been bought by someone high up. If he is honest, if this is all his own doing, and if his arguments are not agenda based, then wish him all the best in his personal life outside the army. |

KingAzubuike: There will always be people willing to join the army and fight for Nigeria, you understand? ...I mean the "real point" of these Vids , a soldier hell-bent on leaving the force, has many less elaborate yet effective ways I am sure of achieving this aim without resorting to demoralising the entire Army. 4 Likes |

ENHANCING ANTI-BANDITRY AIR OPERATIONS: NAF COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF APRON, HANGAR, AIRCRAFT SHELTERS AT KATSINA AIRPORT ... AS CAS RESTATES COMMITMENT TO DEAL DECISIVELY WITH BANDITS Following the recent massive deployment of air assets and ground support equipment to reinforce internal security operations against armed bandits, cattle rustlers, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the North West and North Central parts of the Country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to build an apron, hangar and aircraft shelters at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport Katsina, which serves as the Headquarters of the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI. The aircraft shelters would ensure that aircraft deployed for operations in the North West Theatre, with their delicate onboard avionics and electrical instruments, are not unduly exposed to the harsh effects of weather. Similarly, the hangar would provide a more conducive environment for the conduct of maintenance activities thereby reducing the need to fly aircraft outside of the operational area for the conduct of repair works. Speaking shortly after inspecting the project site today, 23 June 2020, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who has been in Katsina since 20 June 2020, to oversee the progress of the new subsidiary air interdiction Operation, codenamed WUTAN DAJI, stated that the facilities being emplaced would no doubt enhance the NAF’s operations in dealing with armed bandits and other criminal elements in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and surrounding States. He stated that the construction work would be executed through ‘direct labour’ by NAF Engineers from the Directorate of Services, noting that some of the materials, including the frames for the aircraft shelters, had been relocated using NAF C-130H aircraft from another NAF unit, where they were not being used. Air Marshal Abubakar added that the new facilities would also form part of the infrastructure for the NAF Central Flying School, once fully activated. While expressing his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt Honourable Aminu Bello Masari, for allocating the land for use by the NAF, the CAS equally appreciated the Emirs of Katsina and Daura as well as the good people of Katsina State for their support to the Service, especially in the provision of useful information. He emphasized that the fight against banditry was a collective responsibility that required the cooperation of all well-meaning Nigerians. Speaking on his assessment of the conduct of Operation WUTAN DAJI, Air Marshal Abubakar stated that he was satisfied with the progress so far made. “With 10 surveillance and attack aircraft deployed, we have flown over 100 hours in about 60 sorties since the Operation began 3 days ago. In all, we have conducted 13 air interdiction missions that have taken out 10 armed bandits locations with scores of the bandits killed and some of their leaders neutralized. We are already getting positive feedback on the tremendous results of the air strikes. You will get more details soon”, he said. The CAS added that the Operation HADARIN DAJI Air Component had also continued to provide close air support for the Land Component’s clearance operations within the Theatre; emphasizing that the overall objective was to employ all means available to deal decisively with the armed bandits so that they have no breathing space and can no longer terrorize innocent citizens. The CAS, who was conducted on the inspection by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo, and the NAF Director of Services, Group Captain Abdullahi Abubakar, was accompanied on the visit by Branch Chiefs and Directors from Headquarters NAF as well as other senior NAF officers. Jelal0007:99.9% of problems embattling Nigeria can actually be solved by improved policing but we always go for this short-term ineffective solutions. Valuable assets that are much needed in the North East are being pulled away. I wonder how long we're going to keep doing this. 6 Likes |

And others who after eoperations use enemy weapons to inflict not life threatening injuries... Surely these categories of soldiers are way smarter than u and ur guy. Funny thing you two have something in commin, just that he was little brave to have tried the army... Take time figuring it out-of-town Mr smart. 2 Likes |

komekn:The experiment began in late 2017 but because of delays in budget approval the experiment was delayed. I have no idea where you got the info that the experiment began 7yrs ago. Guess you made that up to suit your narrative. https://www.militarytimes.com/air/2017/08/10/light-attack-demo-gives-off-the-shelf-planes-the-chance-to-show-off/ The USAF don't use it for anything of significance.USAF uses Super Tucano for pilot training and hope to field one in the battlefield after concluding their experiment. If that isn't significant enough for you, I wonder what will. Tell me what the BATTLEFIELD RECORD is of the A29 in the USAF. You are now imagining things. The Colombian airforce used the Super Tucano against FARC rebels. It was the backbone of their largely successful air campaign that eventually forced the rebels to the dialogue table. There are combat footages of Super Tucano pummeling terrorists in Philippines, saving soldiers from ambushes and providing them much needed Close Air Support. Super Tucano are also constantly used to intercept planes smuggling drugs in South America. Since their induction in Afghanistan, no single unit has been lost yet they provide daily CAS for Afghan troops. And Talibans are undeniably very capable fighting force. https://sldinfo.com/2018/01/the-combat-effect-of-the-super-tucano-a-tortured-acquisition-saga-gone-good/ Somebody is selling you something they don't use or sell to thier close allies and strategic partners. The fact that no US allies uses the plane does not make it less capable. USA is the only country that operates A-10 Warthog yet it is the best close air support plane in the world. If any US allies needs a low budget yet potent CAS aircraft, they can always order for the super Tucano. I posted a verbatim statement by the head of the USAF and he made it intrinsically clear the purpose of the light attack turboprop aircraft experiment. Read it please and stop conjuring conjuring things from your imagination. The primary objective of the experiment is to select the best low budget yet effective Close Air Support aircraft. So far, you are the only one having trouble comprehending what you read. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

The way we pad our helicopters with equipment that isn't factory fitted aka follow come is an eye sore to me honestly. I know NAF has to work with very limited budget, but we can do better sha. See like them pad that Agusta Helicopter (AW109) that shit is not meant for battle one catapult aimed at the engines will bring it down, this is aside limiting the range, efficiency/agility. 6 Likes |

ugo4u: But have seen videos of the AW109/AW109E used by the Philippians airforce to fight ISIS, that’s why we used them in low threats area like the north central where we don’t have technicals. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by ugo4u: 10:56pm On Jun 23, 2020 |
bidex111:Except they're used in North Central which is still risky too, remember the Police Bells helicopter that almost crashed in kaduna, the Pilots were severely injured. Putting the Augustas in operations in the north east is very dangerous BHT have AAs and other high calibre weapons that can bring it down. 1 Like 1 Share |
