Unilag msc is much faster than their B.sc as most of my friends that evaluated msc with unilag didn't have such delays

A friend of mine too, after getting verification request mail,still thinking of how to reach the school after lockdown got a mail from Wes advising her of her due date. Four days later her report was ready.[quite author=Ezra94 post=90806991]I used to hear about this unilag wahala and was super scared.
I applied for my msc transcript in February tho and on the 3rd of this month got my ECA. I still don't know what happened.
Wes sent me a mail to say unilag had verified my stuff just one week after sending me a mail saying they had emailed and post-mailed unilag for my verification.

Even tho I settled a contact to make sure my transcript was sent out in time (they hadn't started processing it even after one week of applying so I had to reach to to a contact number that was dropped here), I thought I would experience the usual 1-2 months gap between the time wes asks unilag for verification and when they eventually verify.

Why not? As long as your transcript and statement of result is ready, you can evaluate with WES. You should swing to action ASAP, Unilag seems to be working on WES requests faster now. You can PM me for the contact

Please when you were verifying transcript with ICAN did you send the WES academic record form to the ICAN to authorize ?

True and the change of name I uploaded was just my newspaper publication along with the marriage cert.

This same thing happened to me and had to wait 7 weeks for WES to resend the transcript verification request. The thing is WES usually sends their verification requests to the professional arm of ICAN and not the ATS arm. So the professional arm is usually expected to forward the verification request to the ATS arm for response when received. But due to the high volume of requests received, they usually miss forwarding some of them to ATS. If you can reach out to the transcript unit of the professional arm, they would check for it and forward to the ats arm for treatment. If you are in lagos, pay them a visit

Myself and my wife had a passport before we got married which are both expired now, we are just about doing a new one which is one of the reasons for my question, what name do you advise to be put on her passport, maiden or married?

My wife in the lead applicant, she works with the govt, although, she has purchased the evidence of change of name document, newspapers publication and also requested that her name be changed to her married name at her place of work, because she's a civil servant, the process is getting really slow and we do not know when the change will be effected. Consequently, she couldn't submit those docs to her bank as it will affect her salary inflow based on name inconsistent.

Based on the above scenario, would you advise we start all our process from passport level using her married name, Knowing full well that her POF from bank will carry her maiden name as well as her reference letter from work?
Or she should begin the process using her maiden name to avoid the discrepancy? But truly we actually plan having a uniform name.

Please and please i'm really confused, advise me on what to do, I don't wanna make mistakes. Thanking you in anticipation.

From your explanation there is no problem as regards this, i'd advice you to process her new passport in her married name since you have the newspaper publication. Since you have not started the process of WES and IELTS (am assuming),. when you want to submit your application, a simple LOE to describe her situation is enough. VOs do understand all this things, they are not robots. it doesn't matter if her bank name differs from the married name. all this is what you would just point out in LOE. you will be fine that am sure of. dont go through the stress of trying to change her name from work place and if you have started let it be in process while you carry on with your own part of the application, the official name change you did covers all discrepancies as regards her name inconsistency. my spouse too did same thing which is explanatory enough.

If I understand you perfectly, that implies you have not started with WES evaluation

1. If you have not started, fine, do the passport and the remainder of the process in her married name. The reason I said this is that the government might later come through at the final stage with the name change as the time before Wes, IELTS, ITA to submission is still much.

2. If at all the name still doesn't change at her place of work Post ITA, I believe a letter of explanation will suffice showing the documents you have submitted to effect the name change at your work place, and stating that it takes time got any change to be effected since you are working with the government.

Disclaimer: that is to the best of my knowledge, let us wait for seniors in the house to come through with what to do as well

But if you have only Bsc then CIPM will give you more points. So evaluate your CIPM.

Not sure what it means... Guess it's to wait and find out. Meanwhile, what's your VO and AOR?

Lol.. Some people in this process (I know of two) actually do publish change of names and still decide to go with maiden names during the various application stages for uniformity sake with the plan or hope to only activate the new/married name after they have landed in Canada. That way, this group of people don't have to worry about starting the process of name change while already in Canny.

My point is, this should always be a personal decision after discerning which would be more convenient and really shouldn't be a big issue as long as you have no intention to cheat the system and also have legal documents to prove the discrepancies in names.
