Zanzibar without a union with Tanganyika could end up in either way.They are too many scenarios, let's check some of them...

1.Zanzibar could be as developed as syschelles or Mauritius etc

2.Zanzibar could be as poor as Madagascar or Comoro or Haiti

3.Zanzibar could be as chaotic as Somalia or

4.Zanzibar itself could end up in disunity within itself,the big island of unguja forming a separate gov,and the other island of Pemba having its own gov and other small islands which are about 100 in number hanging around.

So all in all,its stupid to think in a narrow way,by saying " it could be like Mauritius "!

Now lets do SA....
What could have happened if the whites in SA decides to form their own nation separate from all blacks? I mean a real nation similar to orania but way bigger than orania.In other ways,what about if the whites decides to extend orania up to cape Town and move all their companies into that new big nation?

Where will the black people work?
Where will they get the food?
What about private schools? Remember, no black man owns a meaningful private school or college in SA?
What about critical skills,management?
Issues of power generation!

In short,what will a black SA nation look like without a white man?
No shop rite,
No pickn pay
No Woolworths
No insurance companies
No private airlines
No private hospitals like netcare and medclinics
No private schools like king Edward,etc
No motor industries
No Woolworths
No companies except the taxis and few funeral parlors

Malaysia abandoned English just after independence and opted for their own language.Kenya,Ghana and other African nations decided to stick with their masters languages and results are very clear today...they can't even build their owns roads!

There are many researches done on the very same issue,and the findings are clear.Foreign languages hinders the understanding of the subject taught.No wonder why many African are performing poorly on math and science or engineering subjects!

Again,its foolish to spent a lot of cash educating your folks,and then sending them away to go work in foreign countries. That is madness.TZ don't want that foolishness. We educate our people so they can contribute in our developments.We can't send them to go and develop other nations! TZ education system is designed to help a country that's why we use swahili in all gov primary schools.Those who considers about international job markets,they are free to send their kids into private schools( international schools).But for taxpayers monies,no way,Swahili is a prerequisite in all gov schools.

You cannot suddenly switch the language instruction in upper schools and expect kids to get anything. They will be disoriented like most of Tanzanians.

If you can make your own stuff like Chinese or Germans - go ahead and speak anything you want. But if you're a poor country like Tanzania depending on the international market you better be good in English.
