In a desperate bid to retain manipulative control over President Muhammadu Buhari, the cabal, led by the president’s nephew Mamman Daura, opposed a due process of self-isolation for controversial presidential aide, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, after his visit to Lagos State, Pointblanknews.com has learned.



It was further learned that the cabal’s resistance to Yusuf’s COVID-19 isolation was part of efforts to stave off the First Lady, Aisha Buhari from dismantling their hold on the president.



The cabal have cornered most of the juicy agencies and parastatals and have been using them to perpetrate corruption under the name of the President, a source told Pointblanknews.com



Yusuf, who is Private Secretary and Personal Assistant to Buhari is reputed as the new arrow-head of the cabal following the demise of the president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari.



Recall that Yusuf was forced to take refuge in Daura’s residence at the Villa when confronted by Aisha’s security aides to submit himself for isolation after his return from a trip in Lagos State to see his wife who was recently delivered of a baby.



But a presidency source confided in Pointblanknews.com that Buhari cabal is fighting the First Lady Aisha Buhari because of their desire to have total control of the Presidency and render President Buhari ineffective in running the affairs of the country.



Worried at the rate at which the cabals have gone in dragging the President’s name in their activities, the First Lady, it was learned, decided to come up with a strategy to checkmate their activities and cut their excesses.



Pointblanknews.com investigation shows that soon after Chief of staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, died, the cabal led by Mamman Daura, has been having difficulties reaching the president and dictating who he sees and who he appoints into positions.



According to sources, the cabals rather started using Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, who is the closest to the President now and who keeps Buhari’s phones, to reach the President.



Yusuf is alleged to always be around when officials of Govt are meeting with Buhari, records the meetings, and take the recording to the Cabal.



It is alleged that if the meeting is about contracts or appointments, the cabal would ask Yusuf to go to Buhari and they would call Buhari’s numbers and tell the president what to do.



“Most times if it is for an appointment or meeting with someone they don’t like, they would tell the President not to honor such. This is what has been going on now since Kyari died and that’s why the cabal is fighting the First Lady because they no longer have the access they had before the late chief of staff died.



“This was one of the reasons why they wanted Yusuf not to go on quarantine after he returned from a trip in Lagos. They feared if Yusuf goes on quarantine for two weeks, it would cut them off from the president for two weeks and major decisions might the taken by the president that would affect their interests,” the source said.

Mallam Mamman Daura is a key person in President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. He has been with him for a long time, even when he ruled as Head of State.
He is one of the most powerful people in Nigeria presently, he knows about the appointment of Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff. He even lives in Aso Rock, so as to be in close range with his nephew.
