I have a 48v system with 4 12V batteries in series and charge with solar and grid power(12A charging current), batteries are loooped using 8mm stranded cable. I have a volt monitor on each of my batteries but discovered that the battery on a particular position in the bank drains faster than the others, in fact each subsequent position drains faster than the next.

After 1 year the battery on the weakest position was dead, even after swapping it to the best position it made no difference, I replaced with a fairly used.

Currently, I have observed same trend with the previously strongest battery on the vulnerable position now the weakest battery. What could be responsible for this?

The inverter will struggle to charge all four batteries and may burn out over time. I suggest you invest the money for the extra 2 batteries on 3 300w panels and a 30Amps charge controller.

Please I would like to know the best or a very good transformerless inverter I can buy at a considerable price. It has to be of between 1500 and 2000VA capacity.

I have checked out Suoer and Vinwell, but it seems the ones in the market are not Pure Sine Wave but modified/squared sine wave, which I am skeptical about (education on whether my skepticism is misguided is welcome too).
