I got the inspiration to register these domains when I saw a sales report of disinfectech. com at Namepros which sold for almost $5k. I realized that this is the period that most people are seeking for disinfection services for their homes, offices, factories etc.

So I quickly thought about disinfectips (tips on how to disinfect our environment). I knew it would sell because this is the trending period and disinfection companies are already cashing out. But I made sure I didn't give room for someone else to register the singular which is disinfectip, although the plural makes more sense. So I registered both.

Listed them for $4,999 each on Afternic, Sedo, Dan and Epik (see my big eye as I want cash out). So I gathered all the mails of all companies offering disinfection services mainly in the US and I started my outbounding. But I made sure I offered both domains for sale and I also gave the end users good reasons to buy and also ideas on what to do with the domains.

Although, I was believing to sell at high price just like disinfectech but on a second thought I realized that the word "tech" has more value than the word "tips" so I was ready to accept any good offer for them as long as the ROI is good.

To cut the long story short the 1st offer I got was from the actual buyer but he went silent after offering $500 to purchase both. 2nd offer from another end user for $500 to purchase both but he also went silent. Few days later I sent a reminder to the 1st end user and we negotiate again and he agreed to pay $600 for both but still was a bit sceptical about proceeding with payment after I sent link to Dan purchase page. So I had to put him through and also gave him assurance that Dan is a trusted and certified domain registrar.

Finally, he paid yesterday and I received payment in btc today from Dan after confirming transfer of the domains I pushed to their escrow account with Porkbun. N236k received after commission and fees.

I started this domain investment in February this year after I came across this thread. Great thanks to Iykepromotions. Me I'm the type that likes to research and figure out things by myself. It helps me to learn faster. Studied this thread from page 1 to the present. Read up a lot on Namepros and other sites. I learnt so many things on this thread. Big thanks to the bosses Iykepromotions, Beckplanet, Ideaspro, therealMccain and many others that have been contributing selflessly to this great thread.

And to the Newbies like me hoping to make sales soon just be patient and believe. God's grace is sufficient for us all but more importantly, make sure you buy good names.

My current portfolio is 4. But with this sale I'm surely giving it a big boost.

3. I thought part of the aim of submitting names is to give room for creativity and unique words and merges. I recall in one of SH articles that submitting names with over saturated entries will be rejected.

The rational behind the name is based on the idea that perhaps a coy might be looking into creating an insurance plan that allows multiple/combine funding thereby reducing the financial load on clients and allowing more pple get insurance plan

On Point 1 & 2 I get you but your stance is as a result of what you think a brandable name is. As softmojo pointed out, the name is limiting to the insurance niche not even finance. it does not have a broad usage. You need more info on what a brandable name is.

It doesnt mean the name cannot sell but it is not a brandable name and as such, the possibility of a brandable marketplaces accepting it is very low. eg That it is 2 english keyword does not make it brandable.


On Point 3 You are correct about SH article on being unique. but the fact that the keyword is non existent on SH, BB and BP. That should tell you that something is off. Then Namebio does not have any records of the keyword in any position in a word ever selling should also tell you something.

At the bolded, good intentions about your rationale but it limits the usage. what comes to my mind when i see the name is a scheme by the company where you make part payment of the insurance, then another person or persons/company makes the other part. what if the said company offers other kinds of services or insurance plan that is not a joint thing? They wouldnt want such limiting name. Softmojo has also mentioned this.

Thats why its good you go through contest brief to see the mind of enduser, you see them specify some of these things

Lastly on Movyr. You dont merge two words together and remove letters from both words. I have never seen it done. When you have to explain, then its a bad name. dont forget a good misspelling fails the radio test, why complicate it further by mispelling both words

If you are open mind, you can see how SH would never have accepted these names, there is a possibility that your other names will fail brandable test, not all but some. My books will be of help to you, if you need them.

If insurejointly is registered, list it on Afternic,Dan and Epik.

I have said it several times that i dont do appraisal but i find myself going back on those words.

Domaining has checklist and you try as much as possible to get everything ticked but there are times the enduser doesnt care or know about the checklist. Those circumstances are less than when compared with endusers who follow the checklist.

So there will always be bad names that will sell.

I can see some persons here do not value appraisals given here and they feel its show off when names are written off.

This is one of the reason why i said No appraisal, because should the name sell, you are seen as a bad person especially if the person did not register the name as a result of your appraisal.

Then there is issue of the work involved, where you have to search and make some findings.

Hence forth, Every Aboki to his kettle. There is an appraisal section on Namepros, where names are freely appraised.

Some person want appraisal and at the same time, they want to choose the language with which the appraisal will be done.

Some will start to compere people forgetting that everyone is different and unique. I will not hold anybodys hand and sing kumbaya with them when they are going off track. I am a strong proponent of spare the rod, spoil the child. I dont do go to your naughty corner(I am speaking figuratively before someone will ask, who is my child here)

The answers you provided are based on your own view. Maybe right from your own perspective.

Consider InsureJointly, for example, if you own a finance/insurance brand, you would most likely not pick a name like this. Let me just say its a bit too specific. It restricts your company to insurance service only, not just that, but joint insurance service only. How can your clients understand that your firm offers other services, would you pick a new brandname/domain for each service you offer?

For the second name, MoveYr, if you find out that you have to put effort to explain how a name is pronounced, its probably not a good brand name already. Having to explain what the name means can be excused, since made UP names also have a place in the brandable market. But having to explain how it's pronounced, that's not acceptable.

Yes it is very negotiable, it depends on your relationship and negotiation...
Once u know them well, u can complete transactions even at different locations, once there is trust, phone calls can even complete transactions.. just use a trusted bdc person, u can deposit anywhere into their dollar account no, they confirm receipt and credit ur naira acct.....(at your own risk)

Again I forgot to mention, inflow is much more expensive than regular cash, the bdc guys are always in serious need of inflow because of it's demand, due to some fx restrictions....so the bdc guys will appreciate when u tranfer the inflow to them rather than cash, if u don't know this, they can outsmart u and buy cheap from u
