Dude, SGR is better in many ways..

SGR is wider than MGR or cape gauge,hence the center of gravity of the train will be lower and by that..
A train can easily move into higher speed,
A train can have more stability and avoiding derailments,
Its easier to do double tracking and move heavier loads,


And there is efficiency factors and costs..
Since many train manufacturers are producing trains of standard gauge,ordering new trains,equipments and spares is more easier,quicker and affordable. Even getting used stuff is easier since more nations worldwide are using SGR than any other railway gauge.
