But come to think of it; since the Olympics has been shifted to next year what becomes of players who are already 23 this year? Will the IOC adjust it to U24 or still keep it as U23 thereby eliminating players that are already 23 this year.

Indeed different player cost a whole lot of furtune,

and you are asking me of his Bayarn days,

imfact am thru with this

TheGoodJoe:

It is a myth. Buying success is literally extinct in this current market. Decent players cost fortunes.

Signing Stones, Walker, Mendy and Laporte can not be equated to buying success.

These are fairly decent players save for Laporte (who is not even pacy). Walker is no Cafu or even Maicon. Stones is no Lucio or even Hummels (who is still not mind blowing to me). Can't even compare Stones to Jerome Boateng. Mendy is not even close to Marcelo. So how you guys equate signing them to buying success is ridiculous.

We just replaced the likes of Clichy, Kolarov, Deimechelis, Sagna and Zabaleta with fairly decent defenders that cost fortunes.

Not buying success in any way.

How did Guardiola buy success at Bayern and Barcelona?

FIFA has raised the age limit to 24 due to the rescheduling to July 2021. Players born on or after January 1st 1997 are still eligible even if they will be 24 by 2021.

People turned Joel Obi into Kroos for this thread sha grin

Joel Obi was coming back from injury after some time out.

He never regained form again, not all players can get back to previous form after injury. It happened to Sturridge and l am now quite concerned for our once very promising RB Ebuehi.

I watched Joel and felt that he had lost form badly.

His performance against England was one of the worst individual performance I've seen under Rohr

Wembley be like Lagos that day.

I remember that match we started very slowly and Onazi and Joel were liabilities.

2nd half the formation changed and Ebuehi was able to use his pace to great effect he was a much needed breath of fresh air.

Because Shehu was out of his depth and getting turnrd inside out. KC was not doing much in the end Ighalo scored. Iwobi was good. Mikel waa ok.

What l don't understand is why Aina was not allowed to play but Shehu was. Going a bit further how on earth did Echijiele ( dead wood) get selected over Aina BAFFLING.

Listen man, come here for a bit... let me tell you something. Now, the Bundesliga is about to end. We made a bet to see who does more this season for their clubsides between Ujah and Iheanacho.

Now while Nacho has indeed justified my predictions and expectations for him, Ujah has made a mess of yours so far. So man, I think you should leave Zaidu matter and focus on this last bundesliga Matchday. It is not over until it is really over. wink Pray that Ujah bags like six goals, this final matchday, to prove you right and show I was wrong about him. Don't lose focus man, keep your eyes on the ball. grin

Both players are a waste if we are talking about forward players.

You are the one that said, KC is back he is back to form, almost with a loud mega phone. We had a long protracted rancourous debate about what IN- FORM is and should be.

Well after 3 seasons in Leicester and 65 games KC has scored 7 goals in the EPL. That is abysmal for a once £25 million striker. That is not IN - FORM.

There is nothing COMMENDABLE about that level of performance. What are you justifying and expecting MEDIOCRITY.

The only consistent two strikers of any substance perfoming at a good quality are Ighalo and Osimhen. We truly lack quality strikers at this point in time in the SE.

You know there was a time in the Golden Eaglets U17 please correct me if l am wrong. But two foot proficiency was mandatory. I am talking from the Kanu, Ikpeba Finidi, Olise, set up.

You know more about this than me, has that standard changed. See two many players with one foot proficiency these days in the SE.

Aina is not just better but FAR BETTER than Collins. I still find it an indictment on the coaches that Aina had the best statistics of all the defenders at AFCON yet did not play all the games.

Aina has two foot proficiency although he is right footed. These days l expect professional players to have both feet proficiency.

Where do you get this notion of "arrier pensee" to what purpose and motivation.

I gave reasons why he lost form and how difficult it is to regain form after injury.

French National 3 side (Tier 5) Iris Club de Croix have announced that former Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has taken up a coaching role at the club.

Enyeama will be in charge of all the goalkeepers from the club’s Reserve Team down to its Under-16 side.

Hyped in this context refers to players who were hyped before getting to play for the SE but eventually disappoint..

Nwakali and Azubuike haven't played much for the SE to fall into that category...

Nothing happened to Sturridge..
He had always been an injury prone player...

Spending too much time on the treatment table made him lost his spot in the team when Klopp took over...

Being a goalkeeper coach of the reserve team in a tier 5 league isn't really bad..

I wish him luck...

Agreed

Anytime sturridge is fit dude is always class, 50 epl goals for liverpool in less than 120 games is a very good stats for an injury prone player.

Joel Obi was putting up good performances and made one or two Serie A Best XI of the week prior to his recall to SE. But dude never translated that to SE. Joel Obi back then, in his previous stint with SE was on a different level. Seems he never got back to hitting that form.

hype is when you exaggerate a player's performance or abilities. Joel Obi was not hyped. He simply failed to translate what he did at club level to SE.

He has always had muscular issue and injury, but after the last injury he struggled badly.

He lost pace and he just couldn't keep up.

Well he has gone to Turkey to chop the last money before retirement.
