I stay in Ibadan. The interaction is at a maximum. Mosques are open..to some extent. Some churches are open. The markets are wide open with no safety measures...People might be covid-19 positive but the death rate is not astronomical. Open up the schools! Open up the country!! There's not going to be a cure for a while. We have to live with it. 3 Likes |

People acting like they don't mind kids ending up in isolation centres. Can oyo state come out and say it's well mapped out plan to manage the virus and schools? . We just have to bear with our never ready government . |

KingWarri:You are half way right. I do know a lot of kids who haven't gone out of their homes for the past 3 months. In fact many kids have not left homes. Mostly kids from broke homes or ghetto kids have been doing all you have said above. Of course some kids have been going out But that number will double or triple when schools reopen. Like I said people must go out, but the idea of the closure is to limit the number of people out of their homes as much as possible. 1 Like |

tesppidd:You should know you're talking to a lot of people tired of home so you won't really expect them to understand kids having to go to isolation centres . For a country that's low on paediatricians and what not . How I wish so many things will change about our health sector after this but Nigeria will always find a way to strike again |
Re: Oyo Re-opens Schools On Monday; Parents, Teachers In Dilemma by SirWarlock: 4:46pm On Jun 27, 2020 |
KingWarri:Yeah you're right. Let the virus take its course. But children at isolation centres tho? . The thing is no government at any level actually has a plan for this. I mean ASUU has been on strike for months now . The whole thing has gotten funny. We're heading no where |

coputa:Then what happens by September??—The virus magically disappeared right what about the remaining part of first term that was not completed and second term that ought to have been on now?? Covid19 is here to stay, we just have to live with like other diseases... Don't tell me we should wait for vaccines because the vaccines won't be available until mid next year.... just a leap of faith is all we need..... |

KingWarri:Imagine tertiary institutions just becoming dust. But I'm not really too hot on fumigation, given it's useful when the area has been exposed and really can't tell where and where. |

Rebuke:The negligence shown by the state government to enforce protective measures shouldn't be applauded by supporting opening of schools. You can't be opening up everywhere when the rate of infection is on the rise, sometimes, I just wander if GSM is strong and prepared enough to handle Oyo state |

These goons had better not play Russian roulette with peoples lives. That is how the fg bragged and yet when the virus came upon them they looked like fish out of the water. Even if something as cheap as panadol is the cure for covid 19 imagine if a whole population comes down with the disease can the government keep up with the supply of the supposed cheap drug if an epidemic occurs? |

Someone should ask the governor and commissioner for education that made this nonsense if their children school in Oyo state. How many schools in Oyo are up to the task to deal with Covid19? Schools should be the last thing to open |

It's better to open schools now...since the fg has agreed that it has come to stay.. So for how long are we going to lock down the school? I even pity the primary school pupils.. There are somethings that if they can't assimilate at this their present age they won't find it easy to assimilate again when they grow up |

Well said! Uganda President KAGUTA MUSEVENI warns against people misbehaving during this COVID-19 period. "God has a lot of work, He has the whole world to look after. He cannot just be here in Uganda looking after idiots...". In a war situation, nobody asks anyone to stay indoors. You stay indoors by choice. In fact, if you have a basement, you hide there for as long as hostilities persist. During a war, you don't insist on your freedom. You willingly give it up in exchange for survival. During a war, you don't complain of hunger. You bear hunger and pray that you live to eat again During a war, you don't argue about opening your business. You close your shop (if you have the time), and run for your life. You pray to outlive the war so that you can return to your business (that's if it has not been looted or destroyed by mortar fire. During a war, you are thankful to God for seeing another day in the land of the living. During a war, you don't worry about your children not going to school. You pray that the government does not forcefully enlist them as soldiers to be trained in the school premises now turned military depot. The world is currently in a state of war. A war without guns and bullets. A war without human soldiers. A war without borders. A war without cease-fire agreements. A war without a war room. A war without sacred zones. The army in this war is without mercy. It is without any milk of human kindness. It is indiscriminate - it has no respect for children, women, or places of worship. This army is not interested in spoils of war. It has no intention of regime change. It is not concerned about the rich mineral resources underneath the earth. It is not even interested in religious, ethnic or ideological hegemony. Its ambition has nothing to do with racial superiority. It is an invisible, fleetfooted, and ruthlessly effective army. Its only agenda is a harvest of death. It is only satiated after turning the world into one big death field..[/quote] |
