It is only a means of identity used by the CBN for everyone, just like a social security number. Yes it is domiciled with the bank but for data storage and identity.

Well, alot of people really are privy to this, well including me. I was quite skeptical though I kept reasoning that it ain't possible. But my sister, this Nigeria we dey so... Anything can happen.
