Members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 are meeting the President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The Presidency made this known in a tweet on Monday.

The meeting is coming amid threats from Lagos and Ogun states that they may be a renewed lockdown.

Also, it is expected that a decision would be taken on reopening of airports and schools in the country.

Details later…

Nobody is obeying any law unless we are deceiving ourselves. Police and security agents are just cashing on the situation.

Palliatives must be provided, unless let every man be to himself, God for us all.

Just enforce the face-mask rule and social distancing. Why is that so hard for them? They are the government. Govern. Enforce the bleeping rules. Don’t go for another brainless lockdown, for the love of God. We will have massive unrest if there is another lockdown. Any small mistake by a police officer and people will be on the streets. Any slight disagreement between a Muslim and a Christian and Lagos could be on fire. And the disease will spread even faster.

What's the essence of the briefings when charity cannot simply begin at home. Is buhari feeling to big to wear a mask or he's just dumbstruck

Unfortunately, they have limited choices here. The world is already learning to live with the virus. No one should be deceived that a magical cure or vaccine will come any time soon. Even if that's the case, it'll take years for more than 60% of the population to be vaccinated. The more we lockdown, the more the cases will soar because people are already exposed as it stands and lockdowns seldom work well in this part of the world, especially without palliatives and basic amenities.

Only those who are profiting from the lockdown in one way or another will wish for it to continue. It is good for us to be careful but caging us again after all these months is unproductive. We must learn to live with the virus. Some may become very sick and a few may die but many will survive unscathed. This is how we live with malaria, typhoid, and many other infectious diseases too.

When you I saw the heading, one thing came to mind. WHAT ARE THE DEBRIEFING HIM FOR?
Like what input is he going to offer or are they just for formality. Seriously its disheartening that we the youths are playing by their game. We have refused to evolve from this state of relying on the crumbs that fall from their table. We have refused to recognize the fact that power truly belongs to us and the future of this nation lies in our hands.
Some might say that we should wait till 2023, But my question is simply, WHAT WILL BE THE STATE OF NIGERIA BY THEN?
