Will load it with 115w appliances i.e 2 Tvs 50w each,10w and 5w bulbs respectively.

How much for the 500w inverter?.

Test completed
Battery ran for 7hours with 115watt + 2gotvs(30w) total is 145watt
9:30am to 4:30pm
No heat whatsoever on the 500w inverter.
Battery voltage after 7hrs = 12.06v

Will update with the charger tonight
Cheers.

Suoer Inverters typically last until your battery is 10+. If after 7 hours you still had 12.06v, the battery would go further.

It is bad to discharge a gel battery below 12v.
I do the checking mysef wit my voltmeter. No matter how smart a charger or inverter is i will NEVER ALLOW IT TO READ FOR ME.

Some of the manufacturers recommend 10.5 over discharge protection. At 12.06v, a 12v battery is still very much alive. Even the diagram shows 50%.

Meanwhile, keeping your battery at those low voltages of 10+ lowers the overall lifespan of the battery; but that's not so significant if you charge it to full before the next use.

Not fully recommended to an extent bc at this rate your battery won't be able to hold charge after charging fully. If i did wat u said above my battery would last 2hours or less at that depth of discharge.

Dont you wonder how a fairly used battery can still display 12.72v after full charge since 2017 till now?The lowest i could go once a while on DOD is 11.80v. I dont wait for my inverter to beep me low battery alarm.

I have a 48v system with 4 12V batteries in series and charge with solar and grid power(12A charging current), batteries are loooped using 8mm stranded cable. I have a volt monitor on each of my batteries but discovered that the battery on a particular position in the bank drains faster than the others, in fact each subsequent position drains faster than the next.

After 1 year the battery on the weakest position was dead, even after swapping it to the best position it made no difference, I replaced with a fairly used.

Currently, I have observed same trend with the previously strongest battery on the vulnerable position now the weakest battery. What could be responsible for this?

8mm cable is too small...
16mm shud be the minimum.
I recommend 25mm . 2ndly whats the size if your inverter, any idea of the charging current?

Pls any simple affordable meter to connect to my one battery system so I can be able to monitor the usage and not overuse the battery to very low DoD?

Except when battery is fully charged and when it indicates the red low, I cant tell how well charged it is since am not usually home.
Pls help...I cant keep risking my battery to early death...

Buy a digital display..its the cheapest and most readily available.
Other appliances dey , but this is the simplest..contact kiekie

Good morning!
Expert in the house I noticed that this question is yet to be answered. Please someone should help with an answer.
Cc lovelynife

Jumia stocks a soeur smart charger as well 10 to 15amps charger is ok. However some batteey chargers output over 14.4v charging ..while some batts like quanta prefer 13.8v max charging voltage...using such combo will kill the batt over time

For a 48v system with 12A current I don't think the bolded is necessary, 8mm will indeed be fine but he can push to 10mm or 16mm if there is budget.

Oh, its 12amp current?.didnt see it..
If so..then its still wrong..12a isnt optimal for 200ah batts

Then again price diff btw the 2 cable sizes isnt upto 400naira per yard, why scrimp on cable?

Cable more than 16mm are not readily available and not that cheap, also if 8mm is already sufficient won't scaling to 10mm or even 16mm be optimal enough? Why spend more when it's not necessary? grin wink

The voltage drop and losses due to cable resistance is minimal in this context. What’s your reason for 16mm?

Hello house. I am sorry I want to ask a basic but may sound stupid question.
I need a 3.5KVA inverter based on the evaluation of my load to the powered and it was also estimated I need a minimum of 4 pieces of 200mA 12V batteries. The confusion now is
1. Some Hybrid inverters come with in built mppt charge controllers, it is advisable to go for this ones?
2. A 24V system or 48V system, which should I prefer?

thank you

[s]1.5KVA Inverter + 200 mah batteries (x 2) for sale (used - over 2 years old but still in top like-new condition cuz I never connected heavy appliances to it). I called a technician to test it recently, yes - still in top condition.

The last time I tested it myself with;
1) 40” Samsung Curve TV + Fan + X Box One S = Lasted about 13 hours (Note: 13 straight hours of gaming & X Box One S is an energy hungry monster).
2) Just lights + Fan + charging Laptop + phones = Lasted over 30 hours.

You don’t have to take my word for it, bring your technician along for testing.

I don’t need it again cuz I am moving to an apartment building with 24 hours guaranteed electricity.
