Wait for ATAS to fix this and respond; keep following up with them. Worst case scenario would be you explaining the mistake in a cover letter along with your application but it's better to have the error fixed. Gaspet: |

Second, if they can't meet up and it requires me to go first, can my hubby be allow to bring my a year old kid? Any of this category already in UK for MSc. that I can get first hand info base on how they did it and interview questions Also, anybody in middlesbrough I can get info from about accommodation for family in a good and safe area. |

Call them immediately. Are you sure that you mailed Lagos or Abuja? Normally it's the location you send a mail to that will respond. Mail Lagos now and/or call them immediately to fix an appointment for Lagos. SAMDEEA123: |

Then you should use the email for Lagos. They are normally quite responsive via email. All the times I used them, I got all info via email and everyone that I booked the tests for had no issues; I've never called them. SAMDEEA123: |

bayosegun:I travelled first before my wife joined me, but we applied at the same time. This was to make accommodation plans ready before she come around. I travelled as a first timer when I traveled. It is good to plan yourself well. Will not suggest hotel as there are studio accommodation with bills PCM cheaper than hotel. When the main applicant travel before their dependants (spouse/child), no documents are required to be sent to them. Dependants just need to apply to joining their partner, your post code where you live in the UK will only be needed so they can include that in the application as where they will be living when they join you. Also the border force might ask them “where are you going “. To answer the 3rd question. Be sincere with yourself, decide what you want because you will fill it in your application “Are you travelling with any dependants “. I advise you apply together, when your visa is approved, you can travel alone to make accommodation preparations before your dependants join you, but it must be between 30days because vignettes (permission to enter )expires in 30days after visa is approved. Hope this make sense? 1 Like 1 Share |

1. Yes, you can. Some people would like to get settled before having dependants over but if you're not asked, don't answer. Only answer the questions that you're asked and when you answer, be as direct as you can without any superfluous language. 2. BRP details (If the main applicant is in the UK already), Visa vignette (if applying immediately the main applicant gets a visa; this expiry of the visa vignette should be borne in mind), proof of maintenance, documents to prove that they are your dependants (birth certificates, marriage certificates, joint bills, pictures, proof that you've lived at the same address prior to the application e.t.c) 3. The main applicant doesn't have to be in the UK before dependents apply. Dependants can apply with the main applicant, apply immediately the main applicant gets his visa (this is time sensitive as a result of the 30-day life of the vignette) or weeks or month(s) after the main applicant gets to the UK. bayosegun: 1 Like 1 Share |

Thank you so much for this response. I would want to ask a question. I am the one going to Study in Scotland, my question is, if we apply together, (my husband and two kids ages 3 and 5), would my husband automatically get 40hrs per week work permit as a tier 4 dependant? Also, if we apply separately, (I apply first to receive my decision before they apply), would he still be eligible for the work permit? Thanks solarinde: |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by solarinde(m): 12:39pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
Adeyemoab: Your husband (dependant) will not be limited to a number of hours to work he can do “unlimited” but he will need to get National Insurance NI number before he can work. Regardless of when he join you, he will need to book an appointment to obtain NI before he can work legally. |

I overcame this concern by simply opening a pounds sterling account. If you already have a dollar account (mine is GTB), all you need is go to the bank with a valid ID and fill 'Additional account' form. Within 24hrs you'd get your pounds sterling account number. Anyhow the pounds wants to rise or fall, doesn't change the value in your account. bayosegun: |

Good Day all, Please how can a separated parent prove sole responsibility of a child in the visa application under tier 4 visa. Since the rule states that one should apply with a child and spouse together. In a case where the parents are separated and not in contact, how can this be proven? Asides divorce certificate or death certificate? Thank you. |

OK, so i work with a bank here in Nigeria, the question i would like to ask is , what was your mode of payment; -FORM A? -DIRECT TRANSFER from ur DOM account? where did u request the charges be deducted from on your form? cos if u didnt tick anything or u ticked self and ur account is not funded enough, swift charges would be taken out of the principal amount. You need either your spouse's permission or proof of separation. Your best bet would be to swear an affidavit stating that you haven't been in contact with your spouse and that you don't know his/her whereabouts. This is to avoid stories that touch incase your spouse tries to sue you for keeping the child out of his/her reach (kidnapping). You'd also need to provide documents/evidence that show that you've been the one solely responsible for this child I.e. the child's medical and school letters addressed to you at your current address, evidence of school fees payments solely attributed to you and anything that can prove this. Thank you for your response, I appreciate. Does the UK embassy recognize Nigerian affidavit? And please do you know what will count as proof of separation as spouse permission won’t be possible as there is no contact? Thank you. mimilyrics: |

I messaged my school's agent(Loughborough University) about the chances of VAC reopening very soon. And she was positive about it, she said even Ireland vac opened yesterday for new applications. 2 Likes |

As a mother, you have automatic parental responsibility over your child but because the dad is listed on your child's birth certificate, he also has PR over that child so you have to be able to provide compelling reasons for this because UKVI is usually careful in cases where there are no legal documents to prove your claims/situation. A court affidavit will also further strengthen your case. If you can apply to the court for separation on the basis of your spouse being AWOL, that will work too. @Justwise if the last part of my comment isn't allowed, pls let me know so I can remove it. fcnaxo: I used Form A. And when filling the form there wasn't anywhere that says where the charges is to be deducted. Even when I asked the lady who attended to me how much was the charges she said she didn't know but I made sure my account was fully funded enough only for it to arrive at this which leaves me confused because even after the 3000 pounds was deducted, there was still enough money in my account. |

Hello everyone, I have a few questions I need your opinions on 1) I applied for a visit visa to the UK in 2014 it was denied based on some documents missing, I reapplied 2 weeks later and it was successful- should I state the first refusal during my application? 2) will I as the principal applicant be the only one to take the visa interview? Or my spouse and possibly kids inclusive? 3) I was told not to let the school know I intend travelling with dependents. What do you think? |
