Well, different strokes for different folks.

Do know, however, that it's even easier to grow N4b to N40b with the right investment knowledge and risk appetite.

God forbid it that He will entrust N4b in my care and I would give to the 'federal' gofament of naijayria in return for a miserly 4% per annum.

Olorun maje!

Easier said, what is the annual growth rate of this Investment? What is the duration of this Investment?

At a very conservative return of 15% per annum N4 billion will be grown and compounded to N16 billion in 10 years

I have an uncle's friend who is an EA to oneof the partners that was laid off last year. They talk about their bosses and I used to hear them say , My oga don buy warehouse, bought xyz etc, I used to work in a bank HQ and almost all the ED had a hotel. This lockdown period my younger sister were lodged in the hotel owned by one of the bank ED where she worked

How do you know?

That is the best investment for corporate guys

One of the trusted workers of Dangote, got a dividend of N110 million from Dangote cement last week.

No time wasting time running a side business but side investment

An unemployed graduate who won a lottery of N2 million, will do well for himself using 50% to 75% of the money for business than putting 100% of the money in a fixed income..

We were discussing on a WhatsApp group yesterday, a banker of about 15 years opened a bar some years ago.
The business was generating revenue but his workers didn't make the business to be profitable. It was the money he made in fixed income that he used in settling up the bar. He has closed the business and booked his loss.

He is now fully into the stock market and fixed income. And uses some of his funds to ship second hand cars from US and Canada, refurbishes and sells them in Nigeria.

If you are not on ground to manage your own business in Nigeria espercially at the startup stage, you better not setup the business. Just leave your funds in savings account. People too bad and wicked for this Naija.

I have a question for the house

It’s just my concern

Why does investors in Nigeria not invest in the health sector??

I mean people can pool funds together build a standard specialist hospital here in Nigeria, this will not only create jobs for people here in Nigeria, it will also encourage our Doctors in the public sector who have been constituting nuisances by going on strike every chance they get, have such hospitals funded by private individuals can encourage doctors to develop themselves well enough to be fit to work in such standard hospitals, the hospitals could steal customers from the Indian hospitals which is where most of our elites go for specialist treatment.

So my worry is why haven’t investors tapped into it here in Nigeria.

It won’t only be profitable it could ecological and lead to increase in life expectancy of Nigerians

How do you know? Can you afford it? Investors want sustainable returns on their investments?

People can't just come together to invest in a hospital. It is a successful doctor who has managed hospitals that will invite Investors.

A very big hospital in Lagos is owned by an eighty something years old Professor of Medicine. The name of the hospital starts with L, the hospital has branches all over Lagos

Private equity have bought into the hospital group, Baba got some millions of dollars and will still be getting something every year from the business

Please take this in good faith.
If this was a sales pitch to a potential investor, there will be nothing here to convince him. All the advantages you enumerated here favors everyother person except the investor. An investor is a selfish individual, thinking about himself, the creation of jobs is not his major objective, it is just that jobs has to be created for him to get back his investment.

Perhaps, you can say something like, investors can put 50M in a hospital and get it back in x numbers years and start making a profit after y number of years.

i personall dont like making profits from people health challenges ...health care should be a social service ....heath insurance funds can be set up to have universal coverage .....imagine 150million Nigerian paying 500 monthly.....doctors can acess the fund to setup ..non profit oriented hospital for god and humanity

Easier to turn N1000 to N1 million in 5 years, but it is extremely difficult to turn N1 millon to N1 billion in 5 years

Not impossible but extremely difficult.

N1000x1000= N1 million

N1 million x1000= N1 billion

I heard at one time that it is now being managed by the daughter that is not even a Medical Doctor. I heard the hospital is well run and well managed. Before HMO came on board, one of my former colleagues pays a deposit there every January for his family. I was considering using them because of that deposit before HMO now came.

I used to think it was power that was the main bane of businesses in Nigeria, but I now rank this one higher than any other factor. From the sales girl to the MD to the CEO all seem to be looking for any small opportunity to fleece the company.

The daughter is the one managing the business, they have in Ikeja, Apapa, Victoria Island and other parts of Lagos. It is a multi million dollar business

I hope a lot of family own businesses will learn from this, even when Baba dies the business will continue to grow and pay dividends to the children and grandchildren of the founder

My company does consulting for companies. One time, we noticed that a staff there was committing fraud. When we asked him why he was doing it, he said it was the MD that said he should do it and that if he does not do it, he will fire him and then employ somebody else that will do it. Just imagine. An MD with some much perks and allowances. That company is dead now and folded up.

Private equity Investors currently own about 55% of the business. They paid Baba some millions of dollars for this...

A big private school at Anthony village and Lekki has also gone through this route. In a situation when the founder is over 70, all the children are abroad the best bet is to sell part ownership and the private equity Investors will bring in system, structure and continuity into the business.

Currently happening in Nigeria. Quite a number of the big hospitals are owned by HMOs.

HMOs are owned by Insurance companies and other High Networth Investors.

You have not answered my question on how you will turn N4 billion to N40 billion and how long it will take you to do this.

You can't compare the type of returns on thousand of Naira investments to billion of Naira investments

Easily turning 100k to N1 million than to turn N1 billion to N10 billion

I will stay within the cuff.
