I would go back and ask why.... UK allows student to apply for their dependents so not sure why a representative will ask you to hide or lie about it

1. Yes, please do. You have to declare all refusals (+ refusal reasons) and visas within the last 10 years preceding your application.

2. Yes, just you.

3. No need to lie. The UKVI rules allow you to apply/travel with your dependants once you're studying a level 7 course (only undergraduates can't travel with their dependants so if you're going for your undergraduate studies, your school is right). Your school can't stop you from travelling with your dependants if you're studying a course at Level 7 and above. All you need to do is show that you have enough funds for you and your dependants.

Hello everyone,
I have a few questions I need your opinions on
1) I applied for a visit visa to the UK in 2014 it was denied based on some documents missing, I reapplied 2 weeks later and it was successful- should I state the first refusal during my application?
2) will I as the principal applicant be the only one to take the visa interview? Or my spouse and possibly kids inclusive?
3) I was told not to let the school know I intend travelling with dependents. What do you think?

School has no business with you coming with your dependant or not so disregard anything anybody is telling you about hiding your dependent.
UK allow student going for Masters to bring their dependents. They encourage that because having your family and spouse around you helps you to concentrate in your studies.

Yes you have to state all your visa refusals. Just answer yes and state the reasons for the refusal.

Hello everyone!

Pls I have a few questions to gain clarity on this dependent stuff.

Can a single student going for a two years masters program come back to Nigeria in her second year to marry and go abroad with her spouse as a dependent?

Secondly, during her first year, can she invite her fiance over for a short visit?

@justwise @everyone

Thank you!!!

As long as you've got valid leave as a student, yes. Your dependant will only be given the length of time remaining on your visa since his/her application will be dependant on yours.

You can invite your fiance but he has to show evidence of his personal situation in Nigeria i.e employment, income, savings etc. Plus all other requirements for a visit visa and any other information that shows that he isn't gonna overstay his visa.
Ps: You inviting him doesn't mean that his application will be automatically approved.

I used Form A. And when filling the form there wasn't anywhere that says where the charges is to be deducted. Even when I asked the lady who attended to me how much was the charges she said she didn't know but I made sure my account was fully funded enough only for it to arrive at this which leaves me confused because even after the 3000 pounds was deducted, there was still enough money in my account.

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 6:26pm On Jun 30, 2020
According to the UKVI, bank statements must be from banks regulated by
"........in the case of overseas accounts, the home regulator (official regulatory body for the country the institution is in and where the money is held) for the purpose of personal savings accounts, confirming funds have been held for a consecutive 28-day period ending no more than 31 days before the date of the application and no later than the date of application."

The financial regulatory body in Nigeria is CBN so if a MFB is registered with CBN and regulated by them, the MFB is okay to use.

You should also find out if any one has used the statements from that bank before because it also proves that the bank can satisfactorily verify financial statements through UKVI established channels. The bank being able to verify the statement to UKVI as required and when due is key.

mimilyrics:
As a mother, you have automatic parental responsibility over your child but because the dad is listed on your child's birth certificate, he also has PR over that child so you have to be able to provide compelling reasons for this because UKVI is usually careful in cases where there are no legal documents to prove your claims/situation.

A court affidavit will also further strengthen your case. If you can apply to the court for separation on the basis of your spouse being AWOL, that will work too.

Yes. It's in the T4 guidance doc. See below

"Where evidence from two or more accounts is submitted, we will assess the funds available to you as being both:
• the closing balance of one account;
• any additional money available to you on the date of that closing balance, for which you have provided the required evidence."

Please how did you make your deposit. I need to make 1000GBP deposit but I am looking for a way to pay so that the exchange rate and charges will not be too much. Should I use my ATM card? Western Union? Or bank transfer?
Anitaamich:

I agree with you, besides most schools updated their refund policy, people should just read up.. I already paid my deposit and I’m not even bothered one bit.
