Don't forget Pulisic could also play CAM, use both feet, drift to the left or right and play passes like that. I prefer him on the wings because of his speed but he is also very direct. 1 key difference is his aerial ability.

Maybe Lampard tries to use two forwards and plays Havertz as a RF with Timo as a LF. Not sure Havertz plays in a midfield three or drop deep like how Barkley, RLC or Mount can.

See for example against city, Mount & Barkley didn’t expose Kante & were good offensively too. If we get Havertz, he will play as one of the 8s. Two attacking 8s may be the future like PEP or 05 Mou. If so where does Kovacic play?

We’ve used 2 AM’s (Mount & Barkley) to win twice; against relegation threatened Villa, & pack the bus with a city side. I think it will work.

I think the lengthy period of matches he plays affects him. If not for his performances while Kante was injured and out of form out midfield would have been horrible and I don't think Kovacic would have improved the much he did. Probably the reason was Jorginho's leadership and why Lamps made him vice captain and refuse to sell him to Juve

IMO, Only few games we use a 4231, it’s a waste using Kovacic & Kante at that 2 when Kante wouldn’t not a b2b. Kante is enough in DM, We should look forward to killing our opponents off with wider goal margin. So to put attack minded players on deck, We will mostly use a 4-3-3 with 2 AM’s.

If we sign Havertz Lampard will use 4231 formation more. We are playing 2 AMs because our attacking players are not productive enough in terms of assist and goals. With Zyech, Havertz and Warner we will have more return in attack while Kova and Kante do their job. Mostly against big teams these two need to start.
