saintokwuluora: The Supreme court nullified Uche Nwosu nomination in AA on the account that he had contested for nomination under APC – The spirit of the law forbids anyone to contest for nomination under two or more parties in same election or even started the process of being nominated by procuring the nomination form. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Jesusloveyou:I don't know where you guys got this report you're presenting as fact here. The Supreme Court dismissed Uche Nwosu's appeal on the ground that he had two valid nominations from two parties. Uche Nwosu had a valid nomination from the APC but the internal wranglings in APC made it impossible for him to be presented as the party's candidate which made him move over to the AA from whom he secured another nomination. This the SC ruled is against the spirit of the the electoral law. The SC was specific on the volid nominations and not the processes leading to the nominations. 9 Likes |

aolawale025: But he didn't just purchase the forms. He filled and returned it along with his so called credentials attached. And he also went through the 3 man APC screening committee in Abuja where he sat and was drilled for several hours but unfortunately found wanting and unworthy. He contested but lost out woefully in the nomination stage. 3 Likes 1 Share |

In all these arguments here, no one has cited the Supreme Court judgement, it is either one is quoting Godwin Erahon of APC or another is quoting his own thoughts. What a sorry way to discuss about issues. 9 Likes |

lalawealthy:He didn't participate in the APC primary. He was screened out by the APC screening committee. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state participated in the PDP governorship primaries, prior to the 2015 election. He came last in the primaries and he decamped to APC, he won the APC ticket and subsequently won the governorship election. The Imo state scenario with the supreme court judgement was a pure miscarriage of justice, the justices of the supreme court erred in their judgement. 4 Likes |

saintokwuluora:look at this The spirit of the law forbids anyone to contest for nomination under two or more parties in same election or even started the process of being nominated by procuring the nomination form. My opinion on this is that once you choose to participate in an election in one party evidecing in puchase of nomination form, you can't go to contest in another party for the same election again. However, this is far from norm we are used to. 2 Likes |

I wonder the kind of school some of you went to. I assume you are just playing pranks cos you know ur submission makes no sense. What the court says is that you can't be the candidate of two parties. I assume that should clarify you unless you are a dummy. seunmsg: 8 Likes |

Uche Nwosu was screened, he participated in the primary election and did not resign, he simply defected to AA when his nomination was not accepted by APC. Obaseki only purchased form and was screened out meaning that he was not allowed to participate in the APC primary for nomination. Supreme Court never said that mere purchase of party nomination form renders you automatically a candidate in the election. 7 Likes 1 Share |

The supreme court judgement in the case involving Uche Nwosu, Hope Uzodinma and APC can't be used as a case study here. APC in IMO held two separate primaries that produced two candidates at the same time in the person of Uche Nwosu and Hope Uzodinma. But the APC NWC was against the faction that produced Nwosu, so he decamped to AA party. Now, while he was in a new party, he still went to court to context the outcome of the APC primaries that produced Hope Uzodinma as the APC gubernatorial candidate. So in the judgement of the supreme, the court held that Nwosu actually won the APC primary and at the same time the candidate of another political party. Even before the judgement was given, Nwosu had already pulled out of the case and because of that, Hope Uzodinma was declared the candidate by the court. The judgement was actually marred with irregularities. 2 Likes |
