Ghana cedis and Zambia Kwacha are beyond help. They have done that since 1960s.
BeforeJuly:

brozay you seem not to grasp a thing in this argument.
what is the depreciation rate of the dollar to cedi?

do you know what it means for your currency to have depreciated at this extreme rate since 2007 when it was just re-denominated?

do you even know the future of the cedi?
it's on a continuous downward trajectory. wink

you must be kidding fam.

I'll let this die here after this. no time for this back and forth.

Nonsense. Lagos state GDP is 33B dollars - including Lagos Slumpolis - even with cookery that is Nigeria's GDP - according to these guys - Lagos State GDP is about 50B as of 2017

BeforeJuly:

ok I'll put it in the simplest of terms cos I see you're rearing to go.

GDP is obviously the value of all goods and services produced within the borders of a State right? ok cool.

Kenya's GDP >>> $89bn (pop. 51m)
Lagos GDP >>> $130bn (pop. 20m)

does this shorten your understanding curve?

This is a permanent building, built with concrete and keep expanding...Guess what, it is a slum in Nairobi...A legal integrated slumpolis.....
As a nairobian you either live in Westland(parkland, south b ,south C, and killimani included)Karen,CBD, upperhill,Langata or you live in places like this or Roysambu, Eastleigh, Zimmerman...and worse off you end up in kibera, . Mathare, kwangware.

Most Nairobians live in the metropolitan areas like Kiambu, Kajiado & Machakos. It's also funny you mentioned Roysambu a Nigerian migrant neighborhood grin

Kenya Houses the Largest IDP Camps in Africa & borders one of the most dangerous countries in Africa but still allow them to coexist in Kenya.
refugees are different from free roaming foreigners.
it's almost like you're obligated to do it cos most of the humanitarian agencies are sited there.
Nigeria is probably the worst positioned country in Africa too. we are surrounded entirely by french colonies who always subtly undermine Nigerian efforts. Nigeria handles more diplomatic brouhaha than most african countries too.

Dlonra:

When Nairobi is Bombed by extremists from Somalia Kenyans don't go killing Somalis.
at least I can give you that.
also many Boko Haram members are chadians and Nigeriens.

Dlonra:

We've got one of the Most diverse African Population. We've also got Nigerians & a Nigerian neighborhood called Roysambu.
Nigeria probably has a migration issue that we literally don't know.
I see east africans in eat africa.
a Kenyan family came to my neighbors house for Christmas holidays 4 years ago.
foreigner numbers aren't just pronounced cos we're still overwhelmed by our large population and no one would notice any foreigner that isn't white.

So Nigeria claims to have 50% of it's population living in urban areas. That is 100M people. Lagos unofficially host 20m (officially census only counted 8M their last census). Those who actually voted in last presidential election were less than 2m...less than Nairobi voters.

Now how can rest of Nigeria faked GDP of 400B - hosting 80M urban nigeria - be worth way less than Lagos Slumpolis.

And there is nothing "special" that Lagos has - compared to other Nigeria cities and towns. It all the same urban sprawl of low key integrated mixed housing .

Really, your nonsensical rants do nothing for anyone the last presidential election there were 27 million votes in total, but it had the lowest turnout ever in history of Nigeria. So why do you expect the number To be big I’m not sure what your trying to say, but Lagos is not like other cities in Nigeria, it has ports, headquarters of lots of companies the largest airport in Nigeria, soon to have the largest rice mill in Africa as well. Whatever your trying to say make it make sense.
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 8:05am On Jul 02, 2020
Now I won't. So Nigeria GDP is Lagos (1/3 or 1/4 depending on the source), Agriculture (1/4 to 1/3 depending on criteria) and Oil. I guess the rest of Nigeria cities and towns simply don't exists.

Nigerians are funny people.

27M voted nationally. In Kenya 19M I think voted. Our population is 47m - and yours nearly 200m. Nairobi county had about 2m votes. Lagos state 1.1m. Your Lagos governor got less votes than Nairobi governor.

Stop cooking figures. Lagos is only 20M from Lagos state stats estimates- from a governor elected by 700,000 people - with his competitor at 200K. Nairobi governor Sonko got 1M - and his competitor also 1m votes.

Lagos 20M figures like Nigeria population figures are grossly exaggerated. Census found out only about 8M people in the entire Lagos state.

Now talking of largest port - Mombasa has bigger port than two ports of Lagos. Nairobi JKIA handle more passengers and aircraft that Lagos airport.

None of them claim to be 100B GDP based on that alone.

What does Lagos generate? It's manufacturing sector is nothing to write home about?

The same state gov have come up with grossly exaggerated GDP figures of 136B dollar

Also Government is failing to create jobs and to grow the economy.........kicking out Whites is only going to cause more poverty as now more people are going to be without jobs....the role of a Government is to protect all its citizens, not just one racial group!!

And great Kenya kicked out Whites and Indians.....and guess what, its a massive sh1thole, compared to SA where Black SAns are earning 5 times more than Kenyans are[/s]

I’m not going to argue with you about any of this, Lagos produces a lot of things through it’s manufacturing sector cars, plastic bags, plastic cups, phones, smart cards, ID cards, credit cards, shoes, slippers, juice, chocolate, you name it. And it’s not like other Nigerian states don’t produce anything, akwa ibom State has a gdp of 13 billion dollars, and they have the largest coconut oil refinery in Africa, largest syringe factory in Africa, one of the largest electricity meter factories in Africa and one of the largest plywood factories in Africa as well. And as soon as they build their port which will be larger than Mombasa port, their gdp could grow even larger. But of course you will just say wet dreams so this is just a waste time.
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 8:18am On Jul 02, 2020
Akwa Ibom - I can believe their figures - 13B dollars - when producing 0.5m barrels of Oil daily make SENSE.

Lagos state cooks figures better than Yemi Kale does in Abuja. They cooked their population to 20m. They cook their gdp estimates. LAGOS governor won 75% of the vote - 0.7M votes grin grin grin. He cannot tell Nairobi governor or his competitor anything.

Lagos has no manufacturing worth anything; it would be exporting a lot of stuff - and Nigeria won't be importing nearly everything.

You're in stage 1 of manufacturing - doing import substitution of agricultural goods.

The laughable stuff you describe about smart cards syringes - just show how backward Nigeria is! Those are basic stuff that are done in any decent city.

so kikuyu1 was wrong when he said Europeans are Neanderthal descendants ?

Well he cited his sources on the effects of those Neanderthal genes... Which won't be wrong as they've been linked to cause a number of disorders but still they imparted a good number of advantages for example, lightskin & a relatively thicker blood which allowed you guys to survive the northern winter.

grin from before July I suspect huh... Well we're in July & Lagos nominal gdp has yet to come close to half of Kenya's. Even when we compare the gdp ppp's like most of you guys prefer it's not any better.

I suggest you get yourself up to speed. Economy isn't necessarily pegged solely on gdp.

Last I checked we're on 2020, & that's Lagos ppp not nominal gdp. Still Kenya has the 6th largest gdp in Africa meaning they still can't measure up being the 7th largest eCoNomY.

Anybody can write any nonsense in Quora. Lagos state generate 1.3B dollars internal revenues. Kenya with less than 100B dollars GDP generate 21b dollar revenues. You want to compare the two. Don't reason like a Neanderthal.

Lagos state like every Nigeria state spew all sort of propaganda including declaring their economy the 7th in Africa.

0.3% never beyond 1% hence the effects are greatly diminished, that's why kikuyus & other East Africans aren't as pale compared to Eurasians.

If there is one basic thing this thread has done, it is to expose Kenya's lies to the world. For generations you have lied about your data and put forward a front as a tourist haven. But now we know you are not only poor but starving and dominated by slums. And that your economy is far smaller than it is. My boy, Kenya is the worse country on this thread.
