Google Maps is online. Thank you. Just tell me what you're doing to addressing the growing slum problem in your cities. 1.2M out of 3.7M residents is the figure I have gotten. Austine1213: 1 Like |

Rvp has run with his tail between his legs, after I posted the evidence. Kenya’s gdp does not even compare to the income of a single tiny state in Nigeria, which will soon have a larger more efficient port, more factories, larger refineries, better transport, better housing than the whole of Kenya, 1 Like |

Dlonra: What a fool..tell me the last time Kenya met a projected growth of 6% pre-covid19...As far as I know Kenya never meets any projected growth from IMF it WB while Nigeria on the other hand has always defied IMF and World bank projections and grow past their projected figures . As for this year just forget growth..you are doing -2%...can we take a bet on that.. 2 Likes |

rvp2018:Maths has always been a problem for you. If you start with $64bn in 2015, and let's assume that by all means you grew at 6%() That's going to give you $67.8bn and not $69bn! Besides thread started in 2016 not 2015. And your GDP in 2016 according to you was $50bn. Do you want me to show you? It's barely one hour ago when you said so. It's just noon in kibera and you are already high on glue. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

You can prove to us that 1/3 of cape-town residents don't live in slums. Your country is generating poverty because like Nigeria it last GREW at a rate higher than the population last decade... But don't give up....Nigeria is manufacturing poverty at an industrial scale. South Africa will generate new slums - unless you figure out how to 1) grow the economy - 2) generates jobs (30-40% unemployment) - and 3) give the poor blacks land back in rural areas to cultivate. GDP growth is compounded. Secondly in 2016 - we were discussing GDP of 2015. GDP of kenya now is about 100B - based on Q1 figures - but we are talking about 2019 data. We will know kenya GDP figures for 2020 - next year around April. Kenya gov stats will start data collection in Jan-Feb and crunch the numbers for 2020. It's funny when an idiot like you act like he knows anything. obaaderemi: 2 Likes 1 Share |

rvp20182: This is funny ....why has Kenyan not done any of this things to stop the rapidly ballooning slum...i mean SA is not the country with about 70% of her entire urban population.in informal settlements (slums)....so there goes your argument... Since 2003 you've been singing your slum upgraded program yet all you have to show for it is 30 buildings in kibera against the booming urban population... 3 Likes |

Nonsense. Lagos State generates 1.3B dollars as annual revenues. GDP estimates are estimates. Kenya generates 21B dollars revenues. If we had time we could compare Nairobi (not kenya) industries with Lagos...and see what a mess it really is. Abohboy: 1 Like |

theenchanter:Ikoyi was never on the same Island as Lagos Island. Ikoyi was originally a different island before development meant land were reclaimed until the two merged. Lagos Island stopped at Obalende. It was the same way Victoria Island merged with Lekki after the swamp region between them were filled up to link the two. It doesn't stopped them been two different ones. And the same thing applies to Banana Island. Link is provided for transit betwwen two regions but in this case instead of building bridges, they built roads 'cause that's cheaper and as each develops, the roads started getting buildings around them hence the reason why you think they are the same Island. They are never. As it's going, the numerous new land acquisitions from the sea we have today, (diamon, periwinkles, kings, orange, iibc, gracefields, etc) would suffer the same fate in future because they are joined to another Island by roads. Only one unlikely to get down this route is the Snake Island, because it has no such link despite been between two other islands and the Mainland. The only way to get to it is the sea. Read the history and study the map. As for Ilubinrin, it's at the base of the Adeniji end of third mainland bridge. The project at Oworonshoki Samorobo was talking about is being developed without being publicized. I don't think many has seen the renders even but I hope it's going to be another fantastic project for Lagos economy and for the faster development of the region. There's another, perhaps being developed around the axis by a church, I think, at the edge of Ifako-Ogudu link bridge. The reclamation had already been completed (or almost completed at worst) but no one knew who is on the project and what the render looks like. People only guess it's the project of the nearby church. 3 Likes |

Now you're a south African? Defend your poor poverty capital. Kenya is doing wonderful - we lifted nearly 1/4 of our population out of poverty last decade. https://www.nation.co.ke/kenya/business/wb-says-10m-out-of-poverty-in-the-past-one-decade-in-a-decade-96030 Kenya lifted 9.82 million people out of poverty between 2005 and 2016, even as millions more languished in abject want, a new report by the World Bank shows. The bulk of the people who recorded an upward change in fortunes during the decade was a result of an improved economy which grew at an average of 5.3 per cent, significantly above the 4.9 per cent average for sub-Saharan Africa. “The share of the population living below the national poverty line fell from 46.8 per cent in 2005/06 to 36.1 per cent in 2015/16, reflecting a modest but sustained improvement in living standards over the decade,” says the Kenya Gender and Poverty Assessment 2015/16 report by the Bretton Woods firm. “However, Kenya’s poverty rate is roughly twice the average for lower-middle-income countries worldwide.” The poverty line denotes those living on less than $1.90 or (Sh191.88) per day. rvp20182: Kenya should be the last person to lecture anyone on slum and it's even annoying you took it SA that has done overly well with infastructure and urban settlement..unless you have places in your zoo that can be compared and liken to Europe,US as seen in SA then just shut it.... Numerous report has it that Kenya slum population keeps growing rapidly and I am not surprised..your govt has don't absolutely nothing in providing housing for the common man coupled with fact that lands are even too expensive for and average income earner to buy a plot and build his own little home...what happen when the average earner is laid off from works as constantly seen in Kenya corporate world...he goes back to slum cos he is not getting the constant income to even sustain continuity of his monthly rent..... What of those that are less than the average earner..what happens when they can't also sustain themselves In Eastleigh...dude their next journey is kibera or Mathare or kwangware..you name it.. 1 Like |
