The rand doesn't depreciate for NOTHING. It's capital moving out of South Africa. It's the financial sector being massacred.
many factors effect exchange rates but anyway

how does this correlate to you ret@rded notion that a a countries gdp depreciates by the exact percentage a currency depreciates?

The financial sector is GDP right? That is supposed to be your job. Joburg is financial capital of Africa. But, as you, well know, even likes of SABMIller, American Gold Ashanti, Naspers - have all moved from Joburg - to London/New York. That is huge capital moving. JSE is going to be under massacre. Your forex reserves are leaking worse than fish net.

I think you're student at some university. You'd understand why the rand is depreciating.

USD is the global economic health barometer. When you currency depreciate - rather than going into long stories - we just reduce the nominal gdp - the details are boring.

You're not alone. Angola saw it GDP drop from 140B to 70B. kwach has depreciated by 40-50%.

And if you think it's just the kwacha weakening - go to Angola now - and see the suffering going on.

OR JUST GO TO ZIMBWABWE - IT VERY NEAR.

It's funny when a heckler like you challenge me on anything. The rand depreciated to a high of 32% - the WORLD worst-performing currency I think for some time in the 2nd Q.

so you are busy wasting your time with an idiot who doesn't know how to calculate simple interest and you think he would understand gdp?

Simple interest? Like Ghanians being charged 30% interest rate for loan ANNUALLY. Your backwater is very sick. I can only imagine if you borrow mortage in Ghana or long term loan. It's gotta kill you. How do people THRIVE in your HELLHOLE? Well escape to Europe or abroad.

Ghanaians get charged 20% on personal loans and business loans as low as 8 - 14% range.

and with those highs, we manage to build a highly successful economy

Nominal GDP is calculated in Rand and converted to USD. How complicated can that be.

Man - your BASE LENDING RATE - is what 16% smiley - how is that even possible. Are you banks Charities? Now load bank profits and inflation - and you are talking 25-30% like i have seen.

Now with COVID it is 14.5% - that is what Ghana gov borrows at - basically risk free money to banks.

Kenya base lending rate is 7.5%.

AB InBev began trading at 1,938 South African rand ($118) a share—giving it a market value of 3.1 trillion rand ($188 billion)

AngloGold Ashanti assets are vought by a south african company

Naspers is listed in 3 countries, just like many south african companies are listed in many countries

Obstuficiation. GDP is easiest calculation you can imagine. It's quantities of XYZ times prices in Rand. You get sum. And to get nominal gdp - you convert to USD - using the current prevailing exchange rate.

All have moved their HQ - they are no longer South African companies. Those are examples of Jews divesting from your dying economies to protect their wealth. Who want to see their wealth depreciate annually by 30%.

the bolded is where you are wrong mate.... Prices of products are in dollars (not in Rand then converted to Dollar) grin grin grin

Thus its inflation that effects the nominal GDP(which is effected by currency fluctuations) thus a currency devaluation of 30% won't lower the GDP Nominal by 30% but the inflation resulting from the currency devaluation will..... Hence why SAs inflation claimed by 0.1%

I've always doubted the efficacy of your degrees.
The GDP of a country is measured in its own currency, then converted to dollars for comparison purposes. Even your doggy knows that.
