HiTV was frustrated out of business by DSTV using Nigerian and Nigerian banks.

Stop talking about what you don't know.

Toyin Subair took a loan from GTBank so he could outbid DSTv and pay for Premiership rights which he eventually got but could not sustain because his business model had a lot of openings which allowed revenue to leak but instead of plugging them he was busy forming big boy and spending money on irrelevancies undecided

Anti business Nigerian govt.

Dstv subs in Nigeria are the lowest in Africa.

So the only reason, they put the law was because of startimes a govt company.

They want to collect things for free without paying.

Socialist government, that is why this country will be forever poor.

socialist when they literally said they are looking to end the monopoly of Dstv and if you think the sub in Nigeria is low, have you compared the purchasing power of the average user in Nigeria to the other countries?? so go back to school son and when elders are talking just listen...

If there was to be pay per view alot of companies would fold up. Its not dstvs fault that Nigeria has electricity issues.

I don't believe this

That was what we thought until Glo changed the game

Multichoice is having a field day because they don't have a strong competitor

If telcos could do, DSTV can

After all, they both offer 24-hour service using electricity

Make electricity stable. Full sub go be 5k.
How can dstv be running on gen and diesel

Please don't insult the intelligence of the subscribers. Everyone is burning fuel to see them on air as well. Likewise other businesses in the country. Or is that an excuse to shortchanging subscribers by downsizing package paid for unannounced before the contract is seen through.

Just allow us to watch football in peace DSTV or otherwise.

Ha ha ha, watch Europe football? Millions of Nigerians living in Nigeria but wish they are living in Europe through watching Europe football.
Nigeria of the 1980s used to have stronger football clubs than most of Western Europe, until those in political power in Nigeria but against Western civilisation destroyed Nigeria's soccer.

NTA has 30% share, while the Chinese has 70% share and run by the chinese. To be honest apart from premier League is DSTV better than StarTimes?

Yes.
Much better.
What local content, of quality, do you have on StarTimes?

I'm feeling the heat currently. After subscribing to DStv compact plan, these guys decided to remove AM Showcase, Binge HD, and more channels without explanations.

Local content killed oil and gas in Nigeria. Leave Dstv alone and encourage indigenous companies to venture into satellite TV services and Nigerians will have options to chose from.

I hope this is not a decoy just to get multi choice to give them enough handouts, because I don't believe these guys that have share in multi choice will advertently remove that monopoly unless they are spell bound. I suspect so, since govt is looking for revenue left, right and center to fill up their babariga.

Loads of restricted TV channels in Nigeria are watched free of charge outside Nigeria.

Nigeria's government rather encourages pay-per-view Television in Nigeria. So the the TV Channels exploit Nigerians.
But there are some gullible already defending DSTV,Nigeria govt had damaged most Nigerians mentality.

When MTN/DSTV were reaping Nigerians you were shouting.
Is there anything bad in Nigerian companies taking ownership of digital telecoms?

What they can't do in SA, they take us for granted and continue making so much money that they take back home.
Never knew Startines was owned by NTA, let's promote our own.
HITV came and we all switched, guess he could manage his success, and went off.
Not only them, mobile networks also, data is becoming so expensive
very on point..wish to see another hitv
