New Vignettes issued post covid are 90 instead of the traditional 30days.

Airlines like Ethiopian Air, Turkish and British Airways have start dates from 2nd August.

Recall Ist of July government announcement on current phase of lockdown ease is for one month, probably take off of international flights will be mentioned on the Ist of August to commence next day.

Not sure about staff being out of country, people who had biometrics done around March, have decisions being made on their application currently and passports returned to them.

Uk VAC recently opened two centers for new applications , primarily for students hoping to start in universities in September.

Great thanks

Why is Ethiopian airline advertising flights from Lagos to London on 16th July?? Nigerian Government has not lifted ban on international flights. Or is there something they know that we don't know? The seats on the flight is remaining 3.

In all of these, students shouldn't be caught unawares. It will be too expensive for many people.

I contacted Ethiopian Airlines today via twitter to know their flight dates because I need to fly down from Dubai to Lagos for my visa application and TB test, they told me that they have flight schedule for July 16th to Lagos. But it's subject to change should Federal Government imposes a restriction and I have been thinking. Is there anything Federal Government is not telling us?

Hello,my uncle gave me 10 million to go and study in UK this September and my acct is less than 2 months old.I would like to ask if I show my bank statement at the embassy being my acct is not up to 6 months, will my visa be rejected ?.

It doesn’t matter ,

UK doesn’t require bank statement of up to 6 months,

What’s requested is to have the money in your account for 28 days.

All I can say now is that all students should get ready as much as they can. The airlines obviously know many things we don't know.
For some reason, the Nigerian Government is not straightforward in all these.

When the embassy start receiving applications, the amount of application that will come in in the first couple of days will be like releasing ants from a anthill.

Stay strong, get prepared, don't spend the money in your account, target to be the first person to apply. Wish you all the best.

Actually its the FG that's the problem they said June 21st they will lift the ban on local flights. So Airlines have been putting themselves together.

Same FG shifted the ban to July 1st now we are hearing 8th of July or so. Airlines just have to be ready because the government can lift the ban on local and international flights same day.

The international airport was never shut down,

I think most of these confusion is really about the local flights.

As I type this , Kenya airways just arrived Murtala Airport.

Commercial international flight were cancelled. Although some special flights are going on the side because our government u never know with them but regular commercial flights were cancelled. Hence you see the government arranging special repratition flights for anyone who feels stranded abroad

My Mil return flight to lagos was first week in April when BA cancelled the flight due to closure. We have rescheduled that flight up to 4 times because the government kept saying it would open. We go ahead , BA would reschedule only to cancel once the government changes mind . At this point I decided to stop wasting my time rescheduling and would do so when the international airport is officially open again.

How are you sure that this isn't a repatriation flight or a flight with essential commodities?

Did you go the airport to see people boarding?? or you judged the flight from the sky?

As much as this is frustrating, you can't be really sure of when flights will start, airlines will continue to show dates but can't be 100% sure (i don't know why they do this and in some cases it is the flight agencies that do that). Remember, there is no guarantee of a refund if you pay for a flight now, and it doesn't operate because international flights are still not allowed, Perhaps you might be offered a flight voucher (or whatever it is called) or keep the tickets open.

Just as someone said, be ready, sign up to as many notifications as possible, Be on alert.

So why are they still doing repatriation flights even few days ago from London since our international airports we're not shut?

This whole thing is not straightforward. I've never seen a country as Nigeria. Twisting everything always.

They sha should open our international space so I can jet down and process my visa before it's late jareh.

I did mentioned it weeks ago that they were repatriation flights.

Which means most of the passengers coming in are Nigerian nationals and passengers flying out are resident permit holders of their destination.

London Heathrow wasn’t shut as well lol

I agree with you , the Nigerian government isn’t to be trusted,

They said airport is closed but international flights are coming in back to back just like every other day.

Thanks for the clarification..i didn't see your post about this weeks ago, I responded to the one you just did, which sounded like the international airport was open and people were boarding grin grin.

The hope is for commercial flights to resume in earnest, i have friends that need to visit Naija, they saw dates on Airfrance, booked it for the 3rd July and started hearing stories...

Hopefully, Life normalizes soon

My sister , you know how the Nigerian government rolls, nothing is certain with them.

It’s best to wait for official opening date.

Yes oh ,

I wouldn’t advice anyone to book anything for now until we have an official confirmation from FAAN.

My own concern is TLS opening lol grin
