Yoruba mainstream History and media painted S.L Akintola as a Villain, but I disagree. He was a great man on his own , fluent, outspoken, thorough and would never desire to be an appendage of Obafemi Awolowo. He is the first detribalized Yorubaman/ Nigerian.

Captain Ben Gbulie was in charge of the team that took him out in Ibadan. It was reported that Akintola responded with firepower before he was ran over.
