EngineerBode:
Travel abroad but not the UK. Avoid the UK by all means. They are only interested in our money. After that, they flush you back home. Do your masters instead in South Africa. After masters, you get work there and live a quality life that UK can't even give you. Thank me later

If you do not like South Africa for their xenophobic tendencies, then pick Ireland. After studying, there are job opportunities. After studying, you can apply for job, green card or resident permit. Also, as a student, you are permitted to work up to 40 hrs per week compared to 20 hours per week in UK. Fvcck UK bro

PS; dont build anything in Nigeria yet. It is not worth it

SA is a very good option for study and good life. Only few people realise this. Forget xenophobia. How many educated legit working-class Nigerians have been victim?

Living abroad will take you 10 years backward. Let me tell you something if you study abroad and you are working before you save 2k pound it would take you two to three years, because the more you earn you will use 80 percent of the money to pay bills and you can’t escape it.
My advice for you is to invest the money in Nigeria and plan things it will work for you.

This is not true.

They've brought back the 2 year post study Visa. OP, I think you should pursue the masters abroad. That way you can make more money to build that house and many more.
Re: Complete My House Or Travel Abroad? by 24enjay(m): 7:26pm On Jul 06, 2020
Considering the present situation of things as per the pandemic, I'll prefer you build your house. The 2 choice before you are viable. Houses are fixed assets and they keep appreciating each passing day, you can see that building your house isn't a bad idea. When a man has shelter and food on his table, 85 or 90 percent of his problem has been solved. Using the money to build your house doesn't stop you from pursuing your master's degree, but using the money to pursue master's degree will most definitely derail the building project.

1.What course are you planning to study in the UK

2. Can you afford to study in the UK without working part time?

You are allowed to stay back for 2yrs after graduation to work but you must gradation first to qualify for the PSW.

Build the house. It has become your asset and one of your achievements in life. Besides land left vacaant is not safe in Nigeria even when fenced. And you don't know how easy it wl be to do your studies. Hope you wont tell people to sell the land and send the money to you over there. God forbid. And when you come back how easy wl it be to get job and start building? Also when you come back you wl prefer duplex because of status but if you build now the place would develop as time goes on
Re: Complete My House Or Travel Abroad? by nobaga: 7:30pm On Jul 06, 2020
One has to take it easy at these people not burst a nerve. People develop their countries for their own children, you see it, hear it and love it. Even after getting there, you hope they will treat you the same. If they don't, you cry discrimination.

Those who were there before Columbus are killed and maimed on sight. When they succeed against all odds, you internalize them and claim those that were there before you are stupid.

Inventus Obi and Hushpuppi have not thought you any lesson. Those honest Africans there are living from paycheck to paycheck hoping to buy a land and build in Nigeria.

Many are defrauded after sending money home. You have opportunity to do what those there already wish they can.

You want ja pa, eh? Good riddance o.

As a U.K. resident and since you’re thinking UK I’ll say it’s not a bad move but by all means avoid schools in London or big cities like Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle etc but apply for uni’s in smaller cities. My reason for saying it’s coz it’s easier to get an oyibo in a less remote areas than big cities like the aforementioned. Women in small cities are more lonely, bored and hor*ny and you may just find one to marry or impregnate to get your papers. You may move to the bigger cities after securing your papers. As for jobs you’ll definitely get something and the average you can earn monthly depending of the number of hours/shifts you’re willing to do will be £2k.

If you be woman I for marry you and give you papers. Please any Nigerian International student reading this living in the U.K. who’s single should me up.

I really do want to know if the UK is a "no-go-area" like people on here are potraying it. Did you think it's not worth the time, money and effort.
A first hand advise is needed
I'm thinking of leaving via
- family visa
-study visa
-or startup visa

1. Family visa..you means spouse visa or what?

2. Can you afford to study in the UK without depending solely on part time job?

3. do you have what it takes.

If your answer is yes to those three questions then the UK is a place for you.

Ask thiose bad mouthing the UK they maybe doing that with little or no knowledge of that they are talking about.

If u not in the medical field or into IT- these are the 2 jobs in demand right now in uk....
I'll advise u to try ireland or canada....
U can also consider central or northern europe- high standard of living and good pay irrespective of job.
Australia is also a good option, if u don't mind the distance.
USA will always be a solid option, but just know there's nothing like the american dream anymore. Na rat race and the winner takes it all.
All the best.

Based on my assumptions from your post you are doing well in Nigeria and you can use your current resources for the next level. Remember that everything great would always have some risk element.

I was in a similar situation many years ago and my decision was abroad (I have no regrets at all).

My suggestion to you is spend the least amount of your money on a country and route that would yield the greatest result.

You can research about Canadian Express Entry on Nairaland and google. You might have all it takes to achieve a canadian dream without going the route of education.

This is exactly why the OP should be carefully with some of you giving advice here.

So in your own estimate everyone that lives abroad earns, 2K euros, 500 on rent, bus ticket 100, food 200, utility bills winter/summer 250, internet 55, other spending 100.?

Please do your masters abroad but don't choose UK. No job after you graduate there.

I will advise Canada or Australia. Msc in Germany especially if you're into engineering or IT. Lots of job in IT and engineering field in Germany after graduation.

Canada, Australia, Germany, USA. Leave UK.

That house, you can afford to finish it with a job after you graduate and work abroad, you can also be able to give your children a great privilege of being raised in a sane society that has immense future.

Nigeria is gone!

Run away from your land, the same people who made life hard for you will conquer and enslave your people at home.
