Oracle55: Listen to those telling u not to go to uk. I am in UK, and i know they said the truth. Right now, once u finish ur studies, u are shipped. They are planning to relax it, but the covid19 situation has made unemployment high here, and i dont think they will extend time for students to get a job after graduation, when their own citizenship are jobless due to coronavirus If u must come to UK, come if u are in medicine or nursing. If not, or u are not coming to study medicine or nursing or CBT or social work, DONT COME. Wait until they relax their rules. Or go elsewhere 9 Likes |

Oracle55: Its hard to make decisions of moving on in life but when you do "It will be one of the best decision you have ever made in life" but when it doesn't, it becomes one of the worst... All this Nairalanders giving you this advise, have u sit to ask yourself if any of them were in this situation you are, will they even try to take such decision? Bro! U can make it wherever u find yourself, the fact u already have a land already fenced and ready for construction purpose shows u have gone far but why try live everything to go somewhere else and start at 0 with the aim to reach 100 when u are already 20 in where u find yourself. I won't say much but when u live I want you to know that; A man u saw in a 1 room apartment before u live might own a house of his own before u are back/u eventually come to check things out here, And a woman u left without a child will have one before u are back/u eventually... But always know it will still take u time to grow there no matter how opportune the environment is... No fear! U go make am! 4 Likes |

If u can realize similar amount from now till 2yrs time, then invest and build ur house here once and for all. The world will begin to adjust by probably end of next year depending on vaccine. In essence, it's uncertain. Pray and decide for yourself. No regrets but I like abroad. QED |

Some people will just open their mouth waaaaahhhhhhh to utter rubbish. Go to U.K. yen yen yen. There’s 2 years post study visa yen yen. If you’re going to the U.K. without studying a medical course or via marriage or Tier 2 work visa (3-5 years), then you’re just wasting your time. You really think that you can get a full time job as a business or another nonsense degree graduate during that 2 years post study visa? Who you be abeg? This corona that Brits are losing their job and all, is now you Naija man dey go give work to? I laugh in depression. U.K. NO WANT UNA AGAIN! If you’re not coming to contribute to their NHS, just pack your thing and be going after studies. U.K. Study Route that you have to apply for TIER 2 Visa and stay on it for 5 years, before you apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and still stay on it for a while o, before you now apply for Permanent Residency and then Citizenship. By that time Hushpuppi don already commot prison. If you’re looking at guaranteed PR, you should be looking at Estonia, Canada, Australia & Scandinavia countries not U.K. or Ireland. It’s better you finish your house till a certain level like roofing. Then you can see how things are going in the world and make your decision. Don’t go to U.K. and waste your time, to come back to nothing. Na you sabi. U.K. yen yen yen Two years post study yen yen yen 10 Likes 3 Shares

Oracle55: Hi I might be wrong, but from your post I have an impression you are yet to hit you 30s. If that is the case, then it is good to see this from a risk point of view. 1 - Age seems to be on your side and this is the time you can take the gambles for a life changing decision, (and still have time to make amends/recover the losses should it not go as planned). Given this, my shot will be considering taking a Masters abroad, you are equally not married yet, so what better time do you have to take a chance? 2 - The challenges here is the present economic downturn in most countries now, UK, US etc name it, due to the Pandemic. The truth is it is challenging to get a job opportunities right now, however not impossible. For survival, you can start with blue collar jobs to foot bills and earn your savings, these jobs are relatively easier to come by, they will keep you going while you integrate and position yourself strategically for a professional job in the long term. I.T career/study is a plus, the world has strongly moved to this. 3 - If you take the chance for a UK Study - UK as a case study here, you have 3 years (1 yr study & 2yrs post study). Working round the clock during this period, you can save enough money and recover the capital you have used in sponsoring your Masters and even build yourself the house you might be knocking off now (dependent on the quality of house). This is a Win-Win in the end (bear in mind i don't know what opportunities you might be leaving in Nigeria - up to you to put this in consideration). 4 - What if you take the chance, you end up getting a job, and even get to stay back depending on what opportunities you get here (which you never know until you try) - That's a win. 5 - Most importantly, plan your path for an economic immigration (so that you ain't going back Naija) - research on countries that gives better opportunities for staying back compared to the UK. e.g Canada. Network and talk to people already in the foreign system. They have handy experience. 6 - With this Pandemic, you might wanna hold back a bit e.g for a year to see how economies open up and things shape up. Alot of economies will be opening up for economic immigrants e.g students as the tuition is seen as revenue. 7 - In summary, it is all about risk taking but this is best time to take such risk. When you get older, married etc., you will have so much commitments that will influence your risk taking ability and decisions to travel at that point. Best of luck. 9 Likes |

justwise:Nigeria is not tax free, just that some people choose to evade tax doesn't make it a tax free state.. many civil servants and registered businesses still pay their taxes in Nigeria.. If you re waiting for me to badmouth the country, am sorry you gonna have to try harder. I have friends and relatives Living in the so called UK which we end up sending money to them from this same Nigeria.. As for how life is here.. personally, I am living my life to the fullest that I can.. and also enjoying some good moments also.. I don't know about you or others..but personally,am living good.. Now answer my own question, do you think all these people telling op to flee from UK are saying so because of the likes? Don't you think they(numbers don't lie) see something you aren't seeing? 7 Likes |
