the processor is decent enough for programming, office applications and every other general day stuffs, but do not expect so much performance, that account for its limited speed and slowness. if you want an increase in performances, you have to upgrade to a faster intel core i3 or i5

Check the ram slot is seated properly, and you should try and test it with another ram.
Another thing to do is to remove the battery from the laptop and every other accessory plugged into the usb ports, press the power button for 60 seconds to drain the residual power, after that, insert the battery back and power on your laptop

Flashing App? Are you talking about flashing your BIOS chip or you're talking about reinstalling/ reloading the Operating system? The former requires special softwares from your laptop manufacturer while the latter has no dedicated tool for that because your laptop "flashes" itself with the help of a live USB or DVD.

Yesterday My cousin installed pes2017 on it, after installation, he tried to run the programming but it displayed d3dx9.DLL(not too sure if it was what it displayed).. In the process of him rebooting the laptop to know if it will work...the laptop fell down and started hanging...so he shut down the laptop by long pressing the power button...and he tried turning it on again but After it displays "strike F1 to continue", after pressing F1 the laptop will just stay like that without continuing....

Please I need help, cause I need to use this laptop...

Why would you install pes 2017 on a dell latitude E6400, the laptop specifications is too low to handle such heavy software, that is why your system got corrupted, because the software is heavy for the system, the graphics is probably integrated and does not meet the minimum requirements. the windows Os has been corrupted with the forced installation, you need to reinstall a fresh windows. F1 will take you into the Bios menu, press the F12 button to boot into another windows you want to reload, after you might have inserted the necessary usb flash drive or cd rom

My acer aspire 5742 has been acting up. When I bought it the battery runs for 4 hours and was perfect then after few months It got bad and starts draining fast till it for to 5 minutes. I bought from jumia and the replacement lasted for a month and got bad again less than 5 minutes. I ordered from U.S and it got to naija at first the 3 hours battery was good but in a months and a week's time it got bad again. I like the laptop, how can I fix it? I'm thinking of buying a core i5 if it can't be fixed.

the battery is original so I guess the stuff must be from the laptop. Pls any idea is welcomed.

I have the same Acer aspire 5742 and it's a nice laptop so far, never encountered any of such problems. if the battery is not the fault, then the problem will be from the system board, you need to take it to a qualified engineer to have it checked for repairs

yeah it's a very nice laptop and the battery was nice and lasts for 4 hours when I bought it. I like the laptop a lot, my fear is if the board had gone bad I don't like anything messing with board.

They would have to replace some bad i.c circuits components on the system board that is causing the battery draining issue. If you do not like messing around with system boards repairs. you can as well upgrade for better options by swapping the system and add some money for a better and faster intel core i5 as you earlier wanted

Are you using the correct voltage ratings power adapter for the particular pc. Is it a 65w or 90w adapter ? If you are using a lesser power adapter ratings for the pc, it would not perform to it's full potential and the system would be fluctuating, the adapter would be overheating and unstable and it would be connecting and disconnection charger.

I am using the adapter that came with it. I do not think it is the adapter since this is a recent occurrence.

Pls help i downloaded bluestack and it couldn't play because of hyper v after disabling hyper v it still couldn't work, so i downloaded a hyper v disabling app which was developed by bluestack. after using the app to disable it and restarting i couldn't find file explorer, command prompt and windows powershell ise in the start,windows system the only thing still under windows system is task manager.
My problem now is not file explorer and command prompt because i can use them by windows key+x and choosing the one i want, my problem is power shell and powershell ISE how i can restore them
