Well, the pay isn't that much $500 per month but it is quite okay for me though.

I would have aksed for more but i am not good at negotiating so i went with the flow.

This is actually criminally low...even for a remote job.

Given your description of your interview performance, I believe you might have been right to think you messed up the interview.

But for $500 a month, you're worth the gamble.

Funny enough, i am in SS3. No computer science degree but i do have lot of certificates . Well, in the web development world, they usually refer to graphic designers as UI designers.

My best advice to you is to pick up UI/UX Design to help you have a higher chance of getting a good well paying job.
Wow! in SS3... nice one

Yes. They have an office in Austin, Texas and California in US.

Well then if it's your dream to go over to the US to work then maybe you can just work for them for the meantime till your dream comes true since its obvious they might likely bring you over to work for them

Its still growing rapidly, thus not generally popular yet.

Just out of curiosity. Did you study computer science in the university? I'm currently an undergrad of graphic design at a federal university of technology and while web design/development is actually just a course in my department I'm actually keen on learning it full time. I'm still on HTML and CSS though. What are my chances in the web developer world as a graphic design graduate?

wait you can study Graphics Design at FUTO?

I work as a developer on Microsoft SharePoint framework. It's been a great experience working remotely so far, plus I actually have a little time to improve my knowledge and skills while still giving 100% to the company. I thank God for grace

You should be able to earn much more than that. I think you should subtly ask for a raise. If you are a valued member of the team, I'm sure you will be obliged. Been working remotely for almost four years now as a Senior software engineer/Tech Lead, I am fortunate that the company is in UK, which is virtually same time zone as Nigeria.

4years?...one company?...

how do you get such full time jobs...I mostly see a month or two..sometimes 6...

Bro you are starting, that why is so hard for you, I have been work close to 10 years now night work mostly and it has become part of me , just try to sleep during the afternoon time like five or minimum four hours, you will see the difference.

10 years?

one company?

how did you source?...

I work for a Californian company too, my work starts at 3:00pm and end at 10:00pm, I have never missed a standup meetings, and I always give an hour heads up if I was ever going to be late for meetings.

One thing my remote team and I agreed on was the time overlap.
So I just go on slack report that I have started working on xyzzy features and by 10:00pm, I go again and tell them what I was able to accomplish and that I'm going to bed. I work as backend using Nodejs and ExpressJs.

EDIT: I saw where you mentioned you earn $500, dude I won't advise you to quit immediately, I would advise you to sharpen your skills and apply to jobs in Australian, Berlin etc. You now have remote work experience.

I've been working remotely for 4 years, my least pay is still $5000. my goal is to hit $10,000 ~ $15,000 per month by 2021 that's why I'm taking algorithm classes.

how you source jobs?...

Bros this jobs are online. The sources have been mentioned here. Indeed, Glassdoor, stack overflow, GitHub etc. You need to have good projects to show and know data structures and algorithms well. Oyinbo no dey take am play. Nigerian companies are also beginning to pay silicon valley rate. Flutterwave is paying their developers in Nigeria 120k dollars a year. Kobo360 too the same thing.

The Koko is to get good and have amazing projects you have built not the ones from bootcamps and online tutorials. The people viewing your CVS are senior developers. They can see through the bullshit.

Well, it's more like a full time remote job. Most of these software engineering remote roles works the same way I guess.

I even prefer JavaScript than PHP and The rest. I find JS easier

Am here to read lies...
Between all these remote working IT guys and the so-called social media influencers, I don't know which category lie most about their earnings...

I know these jobs exist, but the way it is being portrayed... You will just resign your small 200k job and go and start learning one IT course, only to see yourself in square 1.

Device a means to learn even with your 200k job.
It's not advice able to quit your job for something way you never sure for.
Am doing my work jeje and also learning it's not easy but everything comes with a price.

I know .. Right..

But after discussion with the owner, he said that they just started rebuilding the company name and product since they lost 70% of their income due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

So i might be expecting a raise from them in a few weeks or months hopefully.
Ok, sounds good. If nothing still changes after that, drop me a message. I might be able to hook you up with a better remote gigs! Take care.
