The more riders we have, the more trips they get

The onus is on Uber and Bolt to create more awareness and publicity, so that more riders can enter the game

It's just that there are a lot of factors limiting the potential of ehailing: bad roads, traffic, safety....

If not, Ehailing has not lived up to its potential in Lagos

Very true, London U.K. has a population of 9m and 50k drivers.
Colombia I hear has about 90k drivers l don’t know the population though.
UBER hasn’t reached its maximum potential yet

Relax, rhe sky is big enough for all the birds to fly.

Do u also know how many people that have stopped doing ehailing work?

People have always been joining this hustle and it does stop the existing drivers from earning.

Lagos should be 50k for it to be at equilibrium the problem however is bad roads and excessive traffic jam

You may be right

But can you remember when People were raking in almost 100k weekly

That was never meant to last, Oyinbo business model have always been small single profit but huge Number, when you add it all together you get humongous profit,
I wonder if anyone can remember the mobile phones.
UBER and bolts cheapness is what attracts so many riders.
I remember a trip I wanted to take to Park View from Falomo under bridge, the Taxis there requested for N1500, Uber took me to park view for N700 and it’s much safer, you can never here of Kidnappings in UBER

For me, I don't think they are wrong. They just need to balance both sides.

Like I said, ehailing has not been harnessed sef...

96% of cars on the platform only ply very few local governments in Lagos. That's why it looks like the business is saturated.

Every driver currently wants a VI, Ikoyi, Lekki, Yaba, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere, Ojodu/Berger trip and others. Most parts of the mainland and even the island are still uncovered

This is due to a lot of factors: Bad roads, Traffic, Absence of night life, insecurity and others

Ikorodu is still barren
Badagry is still barren
Epe is still barren
Apapa, Ajegunle, Okoko and a lot of other areas....Now, drivers are starting to boycott Festac, Satellite and it's environs

Uber is still a good business to me. It's just that so many factors are against it currently.

As for saturated, I don't think it has

Very correct Bruv

I think they used to check cars with Lagos State plate numbers on Lagos State portal not road safety portal because at a point Lagos State was issuing plate numbers then later it will be moved to federal road safety portal, so if you are looking for it in the road safety portal you may not find it.

I later went to alausa Ikeja "ministry of transportation" and it was verified as fake. But issue has been resolved, I was given a new plate number today. Really stressed out! Been there since morning just got home. Though had to stay back a bit because of traffic.

The economic variables ain't same sir!!

You would have a higher percentage of Uber riders to drivers in UK than u would have in Nigeria.

Though I would agree that the Nigerian market is far from reaching it's potential.

As a matter of fact, do you know it's an offence in the Nigeria constitution to make love inside a car?? And the punishment attracts 2years imprisonment.

So you should even applaud me I didn't even get them arrested for makingoff in my and messing up my car.

What nonsense!

For those eyeing the moove cars. Its easy to take a car. Paying for it is the issue.

Hypothetical example.
A 2016 corrolla ,say #6,000,000.

Payment- #25,000
50 weeks( in a year)- #1,250,000

4 years 6months.
Iout

And I'm sure they have to markup the price to make some profits.

4 years and 6 months of your life paying #25,000 weekly.

With dirt cheap fares....

They have your BVN too.,they will look at your cash flow for d past 6 months, so if you want a brand new car your monthly turnover must be really impressive.

Reason the issue well o.

We pay 5yrs for a brand new car in London looks like a fair deal more so with our fluctuating currency

Hello elders in the house.. I am a newbie and was just activated on bolt yesterday July 7th..but when I went online I saw that "your car doesn't have a category in this region" please change your car or contact local support.... I use a 2005 volvo s60 and passed their inspection.... Are volvos not allowed in bolt!

Hello again... After sending them an email it was resolved and I can go back online... Thanks to everyone that cared

After 5 years of Lagos beating coupled with bad roads. 2016 corrolla will prolly transform to 1996 model..

If parkview to Falomo is #700. Its unfair for a brand new car to take such dirty fares cos its Uber.

Its even #525 after deductions. For a brand new car!

2016 corrolla is luxurious for transport in Lagos n #60/km #10/min. won't cut it.

A 2003 model will do the Job so why go for a more expensive equipment.

Why enslave yourself cos you want to become an uber driver.
