Who Drafted Tinubu's Multi-Billion Naira Life Pension? by Nobody: 3:11pm On Jul 08, 2020
Yemi Osibanjo was Justice Commissioner under Tinubu when this pension, which is daylight legal robbery was assented into law.

Here are the provisions:

One residential house each for the governor and the deputy governor at any location of their choice in Lagos State and one residential house in the Federal Capital Territory for the governor on two consecutive terms

Tinubu is entitled to six new cars every three years, 100 per cent of the basic salary of the serving governor (N7.7m per annum), as well as free health care for himself and members of his family.

The law also says former governors will be entitled to furniture allowance, which is 300 per cent of their annual basic salary (N23.3m); house maintenance allowance, which is 10 per cent of basic salary (N778,296); utility allowance, which is 20 per cent of the salary (N1.5m) and car maintenance allowance, which is 30 per cent of the annual basic salary (N2.3m).



Other benefits include entertainment allowance, which is 10 per cent of the basic salary (N778,296) and a personal assistant, who will earn 25 per cent of the governor’s annual basic salary (N1.9m).

The law adds that a former governor is entitled to domestic workers comprising a cook, a steward, a gardener and others whose appointments are pensionable.

A former governor will also be entitled to eight policemen and two officials of the Department of State Services for life, according to the Lagos law.

How greedy can one man be to rob his state blind using legal cover. This pension will cost Lagos state billions of naira.

You have some zombies that defend these oppressors. Lagos was the first state to implement life pensions for Governors.Shortly after all the other states followed suit.
At the time the law was passed he was still chopping commission from Lagos state taxes through Alpha Beta, so this was never needed in the first place.

I will support the provision if it prevents them from looting, but it does not. They loot their states blind and pass laws to continue to have the states take care of their opulent lifestyles.

Probably a thief did. No sane man would draft such in a country where some can't even eat 1 meal a day. If cared so much for Lagosians he would have rejected it or reduced some selfish draft there.

American,British and German leaders run thrillion dollar economies. They can't even attempt to make these obscene provisions when they leave office. Who needs 6 cars every three years and two houses in any location of their choice in the most expensive cities in the country?

What is the difference between what Hushpuppi did and this pension provision?
