Biometrics collection outside Canada
If you can’t give your biometrics due to a location closure near you or a service disruption, don’t go to another biometrics collection service unless we tell you to. This includes

Canadian ports of entry
other international biometrics collection locations, like a visa application centre (VAC)
If you have a biometrics appointment scheduled

at a VAC, the VAC will notify you if your appointment is cancelled
at a US Application Support Center (ASC), all ASCs are closed until further notice
When biometrics collection resumes, you’ll have to make a new appointment at a VAC or ASC as soon as possible to avoid delays. You won’t need a new BIL.

But this is also on their site

Under normal conditions before the COVID-19 pandemic, Biometrics can be completed in any country with VAC. It has got nothing to do with applicant's home country provided the applicant already filled the details of their home country in the VISA application to Canada.

You may also provide me the link you're referring to okay.

Yes it is True biometrics can be done in any country. The country am residing doesn't have VAC so I have to travel to other neighboring country for my biometrics. But the VAC in the country i came to is still closed, Even though the lockdown is lifted.

Hello Tonyodg,

The excerpt only interprets to the outlining conditions to effectively suit the current Pandemic state. Cross-border biometrics done under a rightful and legal status have always been a welcomed norm.

One love!

You cant get a direct bus from Lagos to Ghana currently.

From Lagos to Benin Republic border through badagry. Once you get to the border, you cross over with bike and then continue your journey until you get to Benin-Togo border which is where you stop and then cross over before and then getting another bus to Togo-Ghana border.

I am guessing that you will spend a lot of money at these borders.

Imagine being stuck in Togo, and Lagos and Abuja VAC opens. Hahaha. In my opinion, there is no need to go through all of this stress. There are many uncertainties in the air right now that no one will blame you for certain things pertaining to this process.

Some programs and schools are waiving application fees to encourage people to apply. Some even process admission with just certificate and ask that your bring your transcript along during orientation. Some have started winter admission because of limited enrollment for fall. Even CIC just doesn’t penalize if you are unable to complete your biometric or medical before deadline due to the pandemic.

People are trying to accommodate each other during this unprecedented and difficult time. Why then embark on a journey of this nature? Completing biometric doesn’t guarantee your visa, no matter the stress you put into it. Why not put that effort into something else like deferring your admission if needed?

- 1 ) For ur first question, go to page 1, u will get requirements for Study permit there

- 2) Presently the Processing time for Canada study visa from Nigerian Applicants is 8 WEEKS (immediately u submit ur application , the 8 weeks starts counting)

And this processing time doesn’t include:
- the time it takes to send an application between a VAC and CIC office

-the time you need to give your biometrics

-3) Do await a response to your 3rd Question

All the Best!!!

As regards IELTS, it is being waved for Student's from Nigeria by most schools cos they know NAIJA is an English - speaking Country,
but
if its possible, try get a LETTER of PROFICIENCY in English language from the sch. U graduated from. Its only when u want to apply for PERMANENT RESIDENCY u need IELTS compulsorily

As regards schools that waive application fee for international students, am 100% certain of only one school,
Cambrian College of Arts & Technology, Sudbury, Ontario (Application fee is waived for International Student in this school)

Though there are other schools, the likes of
- UBC
- Royal Roads University, British Columbia
-Mount Allison University, Sackville – New Brunswick (mostly for Undergraduates)

Some schools also waive application fees if an alumnus of such schools refer you when applying.

Some of the schools are:

- Fleming College, Peterborough - Ontario
- Centennial College, Toronto - Ontario
- Conestoga College, Kitchener - Ontario
- Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario

It is advisable to thoroughly read requirements, eligibility and have a check list of all documents required when applying. That way, you can maximize the opportunity at one go and reduce risk of not being admitted.

All the best
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this

I'm aware of that boss. Meanwhile at first you don't need to pay any fee to secure an admission into the School.

How urgent is this discussion that you can't ask here so that other knowledgeable individuals can also make their own input. It will also help applicants in the same situation learn from the advices given and utilize them in their various applications. If the discussion is confidential, you may reach out to me via my signature.

@frankrobbn1

What if a sch. says that

As things stand today, you are permitted to travel to Canada for classes beginning in the Fall 2020 semester if:

-You have a valid study permit that was issued before March 18, 2020
-Your program requires hands-on learning (labs) that can only be completed on campus

If your study permit was issued before March 18, 2020, but your program does not require hands-on learning on campus for the Fall 2020 semester, we are requesting that you remain in your home country to begin your studies.

If your study permit was issued to you after March 18, 2020, you are not yet permitted to travel to Canada. Your studies will begin in your home country

NB: And this program is not available for deferment to other intake

The question is :
What if an applicant's program is strictly "On-Campus learning classes (lab components)" Option, with "No Virtual Learning Option" , but haven't gotten a decision yet as regards Canada Study Visa,
Is he/she permitted to travel once he/she gets his/her Canada Study Visa?

If NO,
What do you suggest for such applicant ?

Thanks...
