Castrating a dog is animal cruelty same as starving a dog, they are in the same category of cruelty.. And doing it to a dog at a year old not even when it was a puppy makes it more malign and inimical to the well beign of the dog. For whatever stereotype reason you have its cruel of you to even think that.. And for christ sake it's a Caucasian dog without castration they would be a really really big dog, once you castrate it, it becomes wey wey wey bigger like seriously big and it could die of obesity or hips problem so many more, more like setting up the dog to die in the coming years... No need for this evil act juts give it up for adoption as you wanted and trust the person to take care of it, you have done your own part

OP says the dog has undergone abuse and wants to further traumatize it by castration.

Castration is not regarded as animal cruelty. The way its carried out, maybe yes.

In advanced countries (America & Europe) its called "neutering" while bitches are "spayed"; removal of female reproductive organs.

Dogs in shelters are neutered and spayed by law and if you live in big cities where dog breeding is controlled, it is a mandatory to neuter/ spay.
