#flashbackfriday Part 2 (one shot)

Fun fact : this is the 2nd shin so yul drama special I watched.

Classical music is playing in a house, we see Kim c's picture on the wall so I guess that's his house, he's lying on a chair, medics run in with first aid boxes shouting kungsang ssi(his name is kungsang), we hear his voiceover saying "I see sneakers"(I guess he slumped or something), a medic asks if he's ill, his voice over continues "sneakers.... Take off those dirty shoes". The medics are checking his vitals while he continues talking in his mind "how long has that music been playing" a lady (whj) is looking at him worried going "kungsang ssi, do you recognize me?" his voiceover "it's her, my life was like a peaceful holiday but she's the reason it was all turned upside down", she keeps shaking him while his voiceover is saying "go away".

A month ago, kungsang wakes up in the morning, he makes breakfast and prepares to go to work, we hear his voiceover "you know how people say they woke up one day and became famous, I woke up one day and found myself on the verge of turning 40, turning 40 means that you have more time to relax, your busy life has become relaxed and you admit your limitations putting needless desires behind you".

At work he's waiting for the elevator when a guy (pjh) comes to him, says hi, belches in his face and laughs(Eww), kungsang asks just how much did you drink last night? Pjh says he only went home this morning and starts complaining of a stomach ache, kungsang looks at him in surprise, pjh farts and blows the gas towards kungsang's face *sigh* We hear kungsang's voiceover "he's so dirty but only in front of me" pjh picks his nose and tries to rub it on kungsang's hair but kungsang stops him (me:thank God). They get into the elevator, as the doors are about to close someone screams wait! And enters, it's whj. Kungsang's voiceover continues "10 minutes, that's her nickname, she was recently recruited as the manager of the purchasing department, I too was interested in her at first but only for around 10 minutes, the moment she opened her mouth my expectations crumbled" we see a flashback of her basically screaming at her workers for doing bad work, back at the elevator he's looking her up and down and notices a stain on the collar of her jacket, he says in his mind "how clumsy", he tells her there's a stain on her coat, she wants to get it when the pjh offers his handkerchief, she uses it to get the stain out, another lady in the elevator asks Pjh and whj that she heard they used to work in the same company before joining this one? Kungsang is surprised, pjh says she worked in the branch office while he worked at the head office so they rarely met, whj returns his handkerchief, says thanks without even looking at him and walks out rudely. Kungsang's voiceover continues "some women act rude to men on purpose to get noticed, that's attractive when you're young, old spinsters easily forget that"

At whj's office, she's screaming at ssy who's name is yu jina, apparently she didn't do her job well, lol jina even cries, she runs out of the office in tears and kungsang is shocked that whj can even make someone cry.

The managers are having a general meeting and whj is basically washing everybody, kungsang knows her so well that he even knows what she'll say and how long she'll scold people for. After the meeting kungsang calls whj and asks her why she scolded jina (apparently jina works in his department), whj says she only advised her so she'll work better, kungsang asks "shouldn't you have spoken to me first? I'm her direct supervisor, you shouldn't scold her yourself, you don't have any manners" whj goes "manners?" kungsang says she's always finding opportunities to embarrass people during their general meetings, does she want to get to the top that badly that she's exposing her colleagues flaws. Whj says we're alike that's why you can empathize, kungsang goes "alike, How dare you?" whj says I hear you're going to head another branch next year, just lie low, don't make others lives difficult, then she walks away. Kungsang is home talking to a toy "difficult? She's the one making other people's lives difficult, she's the cancer of modern society, she needs to be gotten rid of, she uses her colleagues to move up, people like her ruin all hopes in society and make it threatening.

Whj is on her way home talking to her mom on the phone "a total loser argued with me today, he told me something no one has ever told me, he said I have no manners" kungsang to his toy "10 minutes, her emotions change every 10 minutes, is she even human, she smiles nicely, then suddenly becomes hysterical", whj on the phone "I bet he doesn't know everyone hates him, he lives in his own world, thinks he's the best", kungsang to his toy "that weird woman has soiled my words".

Whj gets home and her house is scattered, she's been robbed.

Kungsang goes to a bar to meet pjh who's drunk and crying and asking why life is so difficult? Kungsang continues his voiceover "that's how he's always been, I had my broken arm in a cast, he whined for me to take a splinter out of his finger". He asks pjh, what is it this time?, Pjh says his wife is accusing him of cheating. Kungsang says you should have been good to her, what did you do, Why did she misunderstand you? Pjh says it's not a total misunderstanding, I was on the phone with a woman and she heard me. Kungsang goes "a woman, who, do you have a girlfriend?" pjh laughs and says are you jealous?(Ewww) I'm jealous of you for being single, don't ever get married, got it?" kungsang's voiceover continues "that's the only advice he ever gives me even though he's married and has 2 kids".

The next day whj goes to a bookstore to buy a book on self defense, the owner of the store told her he heard she was robbed, she says yes that she's scared to go home, she pays for her book and leaves, kungsang is also at the store, he sees her and wonders if they live in the same neighborhood. He goes to pay for his book and asks the store owner if there was a robbery in the area. The owner says the lady that just left, it happened a few days after she moved into the area, she must be scared living alone. Kungsang receives a call from pjh (his name is uhyeon) apparently a colleague of theirs died, the guy was the last person whj scolded during their general meeting.

Kungsang, uhyeon and jina are paying their respects at the colleagues funeral, they all look sad while uhyeon is crying, kungsang tries to console him. After paying their respects, they are eating, jina says just the other day he was cracking jokes with me, I can't believe it, apparently his heart rotted, thank God the funeral house is crowded, he won't feel too lonely. Kungsang looks around and sees whj sitting alone and drinking sadly, she's drunk and walks out. Jina says whj must be really upset, uhyeon asks why? Jina said she heard people say whj was really harsh to the man that died in a meeting, uhyeon says what has that got to do with this?, jina says the man was really stressed, they say stress is related to his heart rotting. Kungsang is leaving the funeral home, he sees whj and tells her not to blame herself for the man's death. Whj goes "blame myself, why would I do that? It's not my fault that he died" kungsang nods and goes "I know", whj says I don't believe this and starts to walk away. Kungsang screams "you! Don't you feel any guilt at all, when someone dies, most people regret the way they treated them" whj says that's typical loser behavior. Kungsang goes "loser?" whj says you comfort me and tell me not to feel guilty, I don't feel guilty so you get mad right away (me:Abi o, what does he want), gosh I'm sorry you're not a loser, you're a hypocrite, she walks away. Kungsang is flabbergasted, his voiceover "she did it again, that's when I decided I wanted nothing to do with that woman".

Lol the next day he wakes up from a nightmare lol, in the dream he's the one that died, his voiceover continues "I wasn't very close to him but I must have been deeply shocked by the death of a colleague who was my age", his alarm rings, he picks it up to turn off and a hand collects the clock from him (me:huh!), he's shocked he turns and lying next to him in only her camisole is whj (me:omona what is going on here, he's fully clothed sha so I guess nothing happened). Lol he jumps off the bed and his voiceover starts "what is she doing here?" he flashes back to the funeral, she was very drunk, uhyeon was trying to get her into a taxi but jina says whj lives close to her and kungsang so they'll take her home, they are going in kungsang's car, whj is asleep in the front seat, jina says oh no, she must have been upset, I'm sad to see her pretend she's OK. Kungsang says she's sleeping not sad, jina says can't you see the traces of tears on her face? Kungsang says people cry even when they yawn, (aigoo) a woman's tears is the most untrustworthy thing in the world, jina says you're so cynical, whj's phone starts ringing, she looks at it, it's someone named "him", jina goes "him? The person's number is saved as him" whj declines the call, jina asks "are you awake, who's that?" kungsang says you were just pretending to be asleep, whj replies, don't pick a fight, let's go in silence, he wants to fight back, jina stops him and asks if he's going to attend barista club tomorrow, he says he will, she says he joined after her but he's so good at making coffee and cooking, if I married a man like you I would be so.. Whj starts crying loudly and asking herself why she's crying, I'm not crying because I'm sad, I do this when I'm drunk. Jina laughs nervously and says we're all a little sad let's go for another round of drinks, kungsang sighs and says he hates women with bad drinking habits.

Lol at the bar whj has finished a pack of tissue, she's crying and asking that the guy didn't die because of her right? If he did, she'll kill herself. Lol she tells jina I really hate you, why are you so pretty lol she basically does drunken madness, she'll compliment them, she'll insult them, apparently kungsang can't handle more than 3 shots of soju but she basically peer pressurizes him to drink aigoo. Jina receives a call from her dad and has to leave. Kungsang and whj are drunk out of their minds and display yeye madness lol they even go to a karaoke, he brings her to his house, she falls on his bed and scatters a jigsaw puzzle that took him hours to complete, he pushes her off to go wash her feet and face before climbing his bed, she gets back on the bed and they end up sleeping in each other's arms (lmao).

Present day, whj's phone rings, it's her mom, she nags at her to stop giving her wake up calls cos she can wake up on her own, she realizes she's not on her bed and sits up wondering where she is, she's shocked to see that she's in her camisole and checks herself she sees her skirt and pantyhose are still on her. Lol kungsang is setting breakfast up, she tiptoes out of the house, he hears her but he's too embarrassed to face her. Lmao he receives a text from his mom "happy birthday, I pity myself for giving birth to you, so I made myself seaweed soup, there's none for you, if you think it's unfair, get married" (aigoo lol)

Whj prepares for work at her house, she finds a piece of kungsang's jigsaw puzzle stuck to her phone but she doesn't know what it is or how it got there so she just keeps it.

Lol at work kungsang keeps avoiding wjh, uhyeon asks him if he took the ladies home safely, lol kungsang freaks out and uhyeon starts suspecting something happened.

Lol whj finds kungsang and tells him she usually can't sleep when it's hot, that must be why she was undressed, nothing happened right? Kungsang says he never makes mistakes even when he's drunk. Whj says good, so why are you avoiding me, lol kungsang goes "me, when, why? I didn't do anything wrong" whj says then let's get along as usual, kungsang says we never got along, let's just pretend nothing ever happened, he leaves. Whj flashes back to the night before, in their drunken state he took her to buy a whistle and tells her that next time robbers come to her house she should blow to scare them away, he checks the time and says "oh its midnight, I'm another year older". Back to the present in her office she's playing with the whistle, jina comes and she quickly puts it down, jina asks if she'd like to join them for lunch, kungsang says she must be busy, whj says no she'll join them (me:Omo has she fallen for him).

At the restaurant, whj orders seaweed soup for him, he's surprised, she says it's cos it's his birthday. Jina starts whining and apologizing for not preparing a gift for him, she didn't know it was his birthday, why didn't anyone mention it at the office, maybe they don't care cos he'll be transferred next year. Whj asks kungsang if they can exchange favors?, he doesn't understand, she shows him the whistle and says they both live alone, how about they ask each other every morning if nothing happened at night, buy medicine for Each other if we're ill(me:aunty just ask him out lol) jina adds you can even go shopping together, whj continues "we live close to each other so we can share a ride, we can also share leftover food, lol he nods and pushes his Plate of seaweed to her and says he's allergic to seaweed (me:ouch! Brutal) awwnnn whj is heartbroken, hurt and angry lol jina notices.

Kungsang and uhyeon are sitting quietly together deep in their thoughts, kungsang's voiceover "last night's dream plus mom's text message and the fact that if I did nothing I'd be trapped by that strange woman, these 3 things kept pushing me in the same direction.." uhyeon says my wife wants a divorce, kungsang says I think I have to get married, uhyeon goes "what?", kungsang says but to whom (me:lewl me and you both dude).

Kungsang and jina are making coffee at their barista club, jina gives kungsang a cup of very beautiful latte and says happy birthday, he drinks it and is very impressed, the foam from the milk is on his lips and she gets a wipe and cleans it for him, my guy is a goner, his voiceover "I don't know what happened, I don't really remember but when I was feeling down cos work wasn't going well, she approached me, she gave me a cup of drip brew coffee and said she learnt how to make it at the office club, the moment I drank it, I felt relaxed, it was like magic, after that day I joined the office barista club, in fact she's always been by my side, whenever I felt tired she revived me like coffee, how does she feel about me?". After the club, jina asks kungsang if he'd like to go to an amusement park with her, he says yes lol even though he doesn't like parks, jina says great, she hopes whj likes it too, he asks is she coming too? Jina says yes, it won't be fun without her.

That night kungsang is driving whj home and asks if she's busy during the weekend, lol whj is still angry from the coded rejection, she says

she's not, he asks if she likes amusement parks, she doesn't look like the type, she says she loves parks (lol cockblocker), she asks if he wants to go alone with jina cos he likes her, he doesn't answer, she says she'll come to the park (me:aigoo aunty rest) lol he starts to beg that they're supposed to be favor exchange buddies, he says if she stays away he'll do whatever she wants, lol she gives up and says alright. Her phone rings its "him", kungsang says who's "him", he calls you often, she doesn't pick, he says you're acting strange.

Kungsang and jina go to the amusement park lol jina has fun and kungsang wants to die cos she took him on all the scary rides. Lol they go for ice-cream, he doesn't even like it but has to eat it, jina says she wishes whj were there and asks if he had fun lewl he says yes, she says honestly her friend invited her to an all night party but her dad won't allow her stay out all night and begs kungsang to help her lie to her dad that they're working all night, he's uncomfortable but wants to please her so he agrees, she holds his hands in gratitude and he farts lmao, his voiceover, "they say your farts leak when you age, it's true" (me:honestly) lmao awkward silence, he starts to pretend the chair made the sound but lol they both know he's the one, she laughs, he laughs, his voiceover, "I'm too old for romance. That hurts" (me:dude you're 40, you're not old).

He gets home and he's cold and tired, he sleeps on the chair (oh I guess this is the day we see in the beginning cos he's wearing the same outfit). Whj is standing outside his door with groceries rehearsing a speech "the vegetables were cheap at the market, I bought too much, do you want some?" (me:aigoo love will turn the toughest person into cotton candy eww), she rings the doorbell, no answer, she calls his phone, she can hear it ringing from the house but he doesn't answer, he finally picks the call but is groaning, she panics and calls 911, and that's where the drama started from.

At the hospital, he regains consciousness and uhyeon is there watching him, kungsang asks what happened, did you bring me here?. Uhyeon says yes, why didn't you call me if you were sick, you fool.

Uhyeon is driving him back and is asking why he's leaving the hospital so soon. Kungsang says all he needs is a good rest at home. Uhyeon asks kungsang what his relationship is with whj, kungsang says they're just colleagues, uhyeon says he ran into her outside his house, are you 2 dating? Kungsang screams don't be ridiculous, that's horrific, does she seem like a woman to you? Don't link me to her.

At home kungsang calls jina, he asks where she is, she says she's shopping with her friends, he asks how the party was, she says she had a good time, she says he wasn't looking too good yesterday and asks if he's OK, he says he is, she says great, they'll go rafting or paragliding when the weather gets warmer (me:lol diswan will die because he wants to date sweet 16), she ends the call and oga starts to do push-ups, he can't do more than 5 and decides he needs to start eating stamina foods, he goes shopping (aigoo).

At the mall, he sees whj, they bow and she continues her shopping (obviously still pissed at him) he remembers her calling his name from the door, he goes to her and asks if she was at his house the day before? She goes "me, why would I do that?" (me:lewl) he says uhyeon mentioned that he ran into her in front of his house, she says yes she was passing by his area not visiting him. She asks if he likes potatoes, he says yes, she tells him that they should buy a carton of potatoes, share and end their exchange agreement with that. He says he likes the exchanges so he wants them to continue, she says she doesn't. They go to the cashier to pay for their groceries, she tells him it was cold and windy yesterday, you must have had a hard time keeping up with someone in their 20s, didn't you get sick? He says why do you care, are you jealous? She scoffs and says as if. Lol the cashier thinks they're a married couple so she calculates the cost of their groceries together, whj screams that's horrific, how dare you mistake us for a couple? Lol she walks away, kungsang apologizes to the cashier and tells her he'll pay for both of them.

The next day at work, a man walks up to kungsang and asks if he's kungsang ssi, kungsang says yes, the man says I'm jina's father. Kungsang stands up and greets him formally, he tells him jina is on her lunch break, Jina's dad eyes kungsang and says I'm not here to see her, I'm here to see you. Kungsang remembers the lie jina asked him to tell so she'd go for party. Jina's dad says he just came to confirm what happened on December 15th. Kungsang says they all worked that day, lol, jina's dad screams how dare you, he grabs kungsang by the collar and starts fighting him, everyone in the office starts looking, jina comes in and is shocked. Her dad slaps kungsang, jina runs to him and blocks him telling him kungsang did no wrong, dad says he just told me you worked overnight, he told me the same lie you told me, it's him right, you were with him all night? Jina says it wasn't him, it was someone else, dad doesn't believe her, she tells him she begged kungsang to lie to him, she says her dad has embarrassed her so she'll move out and start living in kungsang oppa's house, lol everyone is like *gasp*, kungsang is lost. Dad takes scissors and says he'll cut jina's hair, they start running round the office with the other staff running to separate them, they all run out leaving kungsang and whj in the office, he's too embarrassed to even look up.

He goes to hide in the meeting room, whj goes to comfort him, she tells him she's sure jina didn't notice he had feelings for her, you were just like an older cousin to her so don't feel betrayed, don't get hurt. Kungsang says so do you mean cos I was the only one that had feelings for her, I don't have the right to feel hurt? She says don't twist my words, you know that's not what I mean. He says you're the one that always twists words, I bet you're pleased, you must be really happy. She says I know you're upset but you should watch your words, he says why, You can rub it in if you want to but I can't speak? She wants to leave, he holds her hand and says I'm not done talking, don't you dare pity me, don't look down on me, also if you think you can approach me in my current situation, you can dream on, even if I'm desperate and lonely, I don't need to be comforted by you, he walks out.

3 days later he's at home alone, drinking wine and playing his puzzle, he notices that a piece is missing, the grocery store delivers the carton of potatoes he paid for with whj.

He takes the carton to her house, she asks him why he didn't just send her half over, he says he wants to divide it equally in her presence (me:what an excuse). Lol he looks around her house, it's unkempt, with her underwears hanging around, he shakes his head and says she's the only proper thing in the house, she asks him to take his half and go, he asks if she won't offer him a cup of tea, she ignores him (me:lol now who is approaching who aigoo), he says he wants them to exchange 1 more favor, she says she isn't interested. He asks her to go have steak with him for dinner at a hotel. She asks why, he says it's an apology, I'm sorry I got so mad that day, I don't even know why, it was partly because of jina but my pride was also hurt because you saw me like that, she asks what he means lol instead of mumu to tell her he likes her, he starts yelling, it's because you're always mean to me, I lost all my self esteem. She smiles and says so you annoy me like that and think steak can make up for it? He says don't bother if you don't want to, she asks what time do you want me to be there?(lol) he says he'll pick her by 5, he's about to leave, she stops him and gives him her jacket to wear home cos it's cold outside (aigoo they're cute), her phone starts to ring and she becomes awkward, kungsang wonders if it's "him" calling.

On his way home, he's inhaling her scent from her jacket (aigoo), his phone rings, it's uhyeon asking him to meet at a Cafe, uhyeon is surprised to see kungsang wearing a strange jacket. Uhyeon tells kungsang that his wife still wants a divorce and it's because of another woman, kungsang says so you really did cheat? Uhyeon says no, it was the woman that was obsessed with him, his wife found out and got mad, kungsang asked how she was obsessed? Uhyeon says she called me every night, she quit her job and followed me here, kungsang is shocked, he asks if the woman works in their company, uhyeon says yes, kungsang asks "do I know her?", uhyeon says yes, it's eunhong (btw that's whj) (me:*gasp*) kungsang is speechless, he says but our company scouted her, uhyeon says she found out where I worked and followed me here, we used to date. Kungsang says are you "him?", aren't you the one who calls first? (me:good attack the idiot), uhyeon says actually I used to like her a lot, I forgot about her when I got married, but things kept going wrong with my wife, it was nice seeing her again so I called her a few times (me:look at this idiot that said someone is obsessing over him), kungsang says so you 2 have been going out? Uhyeon says love can be a mental thing too so I guess you could say that (mtchewww)

Poor eunhong is getting ready for her date in the house (aigoo) and idiotic kungsang stands her up and refuses to pick her call(me:*sigh* why are men so annoying).

She comes out to go look for him and uhyeon is standing in front of her house, kungsang sees them through his window.

The next day at work, he avoids her all through, she waits for him by his car and asks if he can give her a ride, he tells her to look for another car (mtchewww), she asks why he didn't pick his call yesterday, he says he didn't feel like it, she asks why, you're the one who told me to wait? He says I thought about it and there was no reason for me to go there with you, even if I feel lonely and life feels meaningless, I shouldn't associate with just anyone, you should meet someone proper too, don't tease people just because you're lonely. She asks who teased who? He tells her she teased uhyeon (me:*sigh* somebody slap this bastard) you came to the company because of him, I wouldn't be able to work at the same place with my ex. She says is there something wrong with that? We are friends now. He says do you think uhyeon feels the same way (me:that one is the bi!tch's business), she says am I the bad one here, he says yes, do you know how much trouble you've caused for his family? She tells him he's being unfair to her, he drives off (me:good riddance please)

Kungsang goes to meet tipsy uhyeon at a bar, they drink to kungsang being transferred to head a new branch on Monday, uhyeon says who's going to drink with him and listen to his problems, kungsang tells him to talk with his wife or girlfriend. Uhyeon starts crying that his wife no longer picks his call, he picks his phone and says he'll call eunhong, kungsang is angry, uhyeon stops and says he won't call her cos his pride would be ruined forever, that eunhong told him to stop calling her cos she likes someone else, she said I never loved her and she only dated me cos she was lonely, she said I didn't offer love, only self pity and obsession. Kungsang says she's right, uhyeon is shocked, kungsang says you're really dependent, you pity yourself a lot, you're really obsessed with yourself, as a friend I'm going to give you an advice, you're really dirty, wash yourself, wash your heart and your body please. He leaves and runs to eunhong's house, she's outside talking on the phone with her mom, she slips on some snow and she's about to fall when kungsang catches her and hugs her (mtchewww big head).

His voiceover "I found the puzzle piece I thought I'd never find".

She's escorting him to the train station to go to his new branch, she tells him she's his guardian cos when she and uhyeon took him to the hospital she signed for him, she says her heart felt really warm when she did it, he says if she slumps he'll be her guardian, she says so you want me to go to the hospital, he says I just want us to keep exchanging favors. She tells him she'll call him every night, he says he'll send her potatoes, she says they have to watch new movies together, he says he'll change her light bulbs and taps, she says she'll come to watch the sunrise with him, he says call when you miss me, I'll come running. They shake hands. His voiceover "I've turned 40, I'm standing with this woman who has shattered my peaceful life, she's 40 too, holding each other's hands as we grow old together, that sounds nice". I would rate this 6/10.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT
1. Yeah the story's cute, I like how I didn't see the eunhong-uhyeon part coming.

2. I also like the fact that it's a love story about people in their 40s, I think it's the first drama special I watched that wasn't about young people in love (40 isn't old tbh, but you get what I mean)

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT
1. Well the fact that kungsang was a cynical, judgemental, myopic, patriarchal little coward, but I mean that's the story, he did change and become more open minded and he apologized, even though they didn't show me lol

Okay so for the past few weeks I've been completely uninterested in and irritated by anything kmusic related, unfollowed everybody on Twitter and only following eyecandy on IG so I literally do not know what's been going on. Imagine my surprise and amusement (unfortunately) when I stumbled across this pic and found out that it's recent?!!! LMAO. Please who knows where this is from? I am in tears!!!!

Classical music is playing in a house, we see Kim c's picture on the wall so I guess that's his house, he's lying on a chair, medics run in with first aid boxes shouting kungsang ssi(his name is kungsang), we hear his voiceover saying "I see sneakers"(I guess he slumped or something), a medic asks if he's ill, his voice over continues "sneakers.... Take off those dirty shoes". The medics are checking his vitals while he continues talking in his mind "how long has that music been playing" a lady (whj) is looking at him worried going "kungsang ssi, do you recognize me?" his voiceover "it's her, my life was like a peaceful holiday but she's the reason it was all turned upside down", she keeps shaking him while his voiceover is saying "go away".

A month ago, kungsang wakes up in the morning, he makes breakfast and prepares to go to work, we hear his voiceover "you know how people say they woke up one day and became famous, I woke up one day and found myself on the verge of turning 40, turning 40 means that you have more time to relax, your busy life has become relaxed and you admit your limitations putting needless desires behind you".

At work he's waiting for the elevator when a guy (pjh) comes to him, says hi, belches in his face and laughs(Eww), kungsang asks just how much did you drink last night? Pjh says he only went home this morning and starts complaining of a stomach ache, kungsang looks at him in surprise, pjh farts and blows the gas towards kungsang's face *sigh* We hear kungsang's voiceover "he's so dirty but only in front of me" pjh picks his nose and tries to rub it on kungsang's hair but kungsang stops him (me:thank God). They get into the elevator, as the doors are about to close someone screams wait! And enters, it's whj. Kungsang's voiceover continues "10 minutes, that's her nickname, she was recently recruited as the manager of the purchasing department, I too was interested in her at first but only for around 10 minutes, the moment she opened her mouth my expectations crumbled" we see a flashback of her basically screaming at her workers for doing bad work, back at the elevator he's looking her up and down and notices a stain on the collar of her jacket, he says in his mind "how clumsy", he tells her there's a stain on her coat, she wants to get it when the pjh offers his handkerchief, she uses it to get the stain out, another lady in the elevator asks Pjh and whj that she heard they used to work in the same company before joining this one? Kungsang is surprised, pjh says she worked in the branch office while he worked at the head office so they rarely met, whj returns his handkerchief, says thanks without even looking at him and walks out rudely. Kungsang's voiceover continues "some women act rude to men on purpose to get noticed, that's attractive when you're young, old spinsters easily forget that"

At whj's office, she's screaming at ssy who's name is yu jina, apparently she didn't do her job well, lol jina even cries, she runs out of the office in tears and kungsang is shocked that whj can even make someone cry.

The managers are having a general meeting and whj is basically washing everybody, kungsang knows her so well that he even knows what she'll say and how long she'll scold people for. After the meeting kungsang calls whj and asks her why she scolded jina (apparently jina works in his department), whj says she only advised her so she'll work better, kungsang asks "shouldn't you have spoken to me first? I'm her direct supervisor, you shouldn't scold her yourself, you don't have any manners" whj goes "manners?" kungsang says she's always finding opportunities to embarrass people during their general meetings, does she want to get to the top that badly that she's exposing her colleagues flaws. Whj says we're alike that's why you can empathize, kungsang goes "alike, How dare you?" whj says I hear you're going to head another branch next year, just lie low, don't make others lives difficult, then she walks away. Kungsang is home talking to a toy "difficult? She's the one making other people's lives difficult, she's the cancer of modern society, she needs to be gotten rid of, she uses her colleagues to move up, people like her ruin all hopes in society and make it threatening.

Whj is on her way home talking to her mom on the phone "a total loser argued with me today, he told me something no one has ever told me, he said I have no manners" kungsang to his toy "10 minutes, her emotions change every 10 minutes, is she even human, she smiles nicely, then suddenly becomes hysterical", whj on the phone "I bet he doesn't know everyone hates him, he lives in his own world, thinks he's the best", kungsang to his toy "that weird woman has soiled my words".

Whj gets home and her house is scattered, she's been robbed.

Kungsang goes to a bar to meet pjh who's drunk and crying and asking why life is so difficult? Kungsang continues his voiceover "that's how he's always been, I had my broken arm in a cast, he whined for me to take a splinter out of his finger". He asks pjh, what is it this time?, Pjh says his wife is accusing him of cheating. Kungsang says you should have been good to her, what did you do, Why did she misunderstand you? Pjh says it's not a total misunderstanding, I was on the phone with a woman and she heard me. Kungsang goes "a woman, who, do you have a girlfriend?" pjh laughs and says are you jealous?(Ewww) I'm jealous of you for being single, don't ever get married, got it?" kungsang's voiceover continues "that's the only advice he ever gives me even though he's married and has 2 kids".

The next day whj goes to a bookstore to buy a book on self defense, the owner of the store told her he heard she was robbed, she says yes that she's scared to go home, she pays for her book and leaves, kungsang is also at the store, he sees her and wonders if they live in the same neighborhood. He goes to pay for his book and asks the store owner if there was a robbery in the area. The owner says the lady that just left, it happened a few days after she moved into the area, she must be scared living alone. Kungsang receives a call from pjh (his name is uhyeon) apparently a colleague of theirs died, the guy was the last person whj scolded during their general meeting.

Kungsang, uhyeon and jina are paying their respects at the colleagues funeral, they all look sad while uhyeon is crying, kungsang tries to console him. After paying their respects, they are eating, jina says just the other day he was cracking jokes with me, I can't believe it, apparently his heart rotted, thank God the funeral house is crowded, he won't feel too lonely. Kungsang looks around and sees whj sitting alone and drinking sadly, she's drunk and walks out. Jina says whj must be really upset, uhyeon asks why? Jina said she heard people say whj was really harsh to the man that died in a meeting, uhyeon says what has that got to do with this?, jina says the man was really stressed, they say stress is related to his heart rotting. Kungsang is leaving the funeral home, he sees whj and tells her not to blame herself for the man's death. Whj goes "blame myself, why would I do that? It's not my fault that he died" kungsang nods and goes "I know", whj says I don't believe this and starts to walk away. Kungsang screams "you! Don't you feel any guilt at all, when someone dies, most people regret the way they treated them" whj says that's typical loser behavior. Kungsang goes "loser?" whj says you comfort me and tell me not to feel guilty, I don't feel guilty so you get mad right away (me:Abi o, what does he want), gosh I'm sorry you're not a loser, you're a hypocrite, she walks away. Kungsang is flabbergasted, his voiceover "she did it again, that's when I decided I wanted nothing to do with that woman".

Lol the next day he wakes up from a nightmare lol, in the dream he's the one that died, his voiceover continues "I wasn't very close to him but I must have been deeply shocked by the death of a colleague who was my age", his alarm rings, he picks it up to turn off and a hand collects the clock from him (me:huh!), he's shocked he turns and lying next to him in only her camisole is whj (me:omona what is going on here, he's fully clothed sha so I guess nothing happened). Lol he jumps off the bed and his voiceover starts "what is she doing here?" he flashes back to the funeral, she was very drunk, uhyeon was trying to get her into a taxi but jina says whj lives close to her and kungsang so they'll take her home, they are going in kungsang's car, whj is asleep in the front seat, jina says oh no, she must have been upset, I'm sad to see her pretend she's OK. Kungsang says she's sleeping not sad, jina says can't you see the traces of tears on her face? Kungsang says people cry even when they yawn, (aigoo) a woman's tears is the most untrustworthy thing in the world, jina says you're so cynical, whj's phone starts ringing, she looks at it, it's someone named "him", jina goes "him? The person's number is saved as him" whj declines the call, jina asks "are you awake, who's that?" kungsang says you were just pretending to be asleep, whj replies, don't pick a fight, let's go in silence, he wants to fight back, jina stops him and asks if he's going to attend barista club tomorrow, he says he will, she says he joined after her but he's so good at making coffee and cooking, if I married a man like you I would be so.. Whj starts crying loudly and asking herself why she's crying, I'm not crying because I'm sad, I do this when I'm drunk. Jina laughs nervously and says we're all a little sad let's go for another round of drinks, kungsang sighs and says he hates women with bad drinking habits.

Lol at the bar whj has finished a pack of tissue, she's crying and asking that the guy didn't die because of her right? If he did, she'll kill herself. Lol she tells jina I really hate you, why are you so pretty lol she basically does drunken madness, she'll compliment them, she'll insult them, apparently kungsang can't handle more than 3 shots of soju but she basically peer pressurizes him to drink aigoo. Jina receives a call from her dad and has to leave. Kungsang and whj are drunk out of their minds and display yeye madness lol they even go to a karaoke, he brings her to his house, she falls on his bed and scatters a jigsaw puzzle that took him hours to complete, he pushes her off to go wash her feet and face before climbing his bed, she gets back on the bed and they end up sleeping in each other's arms (lmao).

Present day, whj's phone rings, it's her mom, she nags at her to stop giving her wake up calls cos she can wake up on her own, she realizes she's not on her bed and sits up wondering where she is, she's shocked to see that she's in her camisole and checks herself she sees her skirt and pantyhose are still on her. Lol kungsang is setting breakfast up, she tiptoes out of the house, he hears her but he's too embarrassed to face her. Lmao he receives a text from his mom "happy birthday, I pity myself for giving birth to you, so I made myself seaweed soup, there's none for you, if you think it's unfair, get married" (aigoo lol)

Whj prepares for work at her house, she finds a piece of kungsang's jigsaw puzzle stuck to her phone but she doesn't know what it is or how it got there so she just keeps it.

Lol at work kungsang keeps avoiding wjh, uhyeon asks him if he took the ladies home safely, lol kungsang freaks out and uhyeon starts suspecting something happened.

Lol whj finds kungsang and tells him she usually can't sleep when it's hot, that must be why she was undressed, nothing happened right? Kungsang says he never makes mistakes even when he's drunk. Whj says good, so why are you avoiding me, lol kungsang goes "me, when, why? I didn't do anything wrong" whj says then let's get along as usual, kungsang says we never got along, let's just pretend nothing ever happened, he leaves. Whj flashes back to the night before, in their drunken state he took her to buy a whistle and tells her that next time robbers come to her house she should blow to scare them away, he checks the time and says "oh its midnight, I'm another year older". Back to the present in her office she's playing with the whistle, jina comes and she quickly puts it down, jina asks if she'd like to join them for lunch, kungsang says she must be busy, whj says no she'll join them (me:Omo has she fallen for him).

At the restaurant, whj orders seaweed soup for him, he's surprised, she says it's cos it's his birthday. Jina starts whining and apologizing for not preparing a gift for him, she didn't know it was his birthday, why didn't anyone mention it at the office, maybe they don't care cos he'll be transferred next year. Whj asks kungsang if they can exchange favors?, he doesn't understand, she shows him the whistle and says they both live alone, how about they ask each other every morning if nothing happened at night, buy medicine for Each other if we're ill(me:aunty just ask him out lol) jina adds you can even go shopping together, whj continues "we live close to each other so we can share a ride, we can also share leftover food, lol he nods and pushes his Plate of seaweed to her and says he's allergic to seaweed (me:ouch! Brutal) awwnnn whj is heartbroken, hurt and angry lol jina notices.

Kungsang and uhyeon are sitting quietly together deep in their thoughts, kungsang's voiceover "last night's dream plus mom's text message and the fact that if I did nothing I'd be trapped by that strange woman, these 3 things kept pushing me in the same direction.." uhyeon says my wife wants a divorce, kungsang says I think I have to get married, uhyeon goes "what?", kungsang says but to whom (me:lewl me and you both dude).

Kungsang and jina are making coffee at their barista club, jina gives kungsang a cup of very beautiful latte and says happy birthday, he drinks it and is very impressed, the foam from the milk is on his lips and she gets a wipe and cleans it for him, my guy is a goner, his voiceover "I don't know what happened, I don't really remember but when I was feeling down cos work wasn't going well, she approached me, she gave me a cup of drip brew coffee and said she learnt how to make it at the office club, the moment I drank it, I felt relaxed, it was like magic, after that day I joined the office barista club, in fact she's always been by my side, whenever I felt tired she revived me like coffee, how does she feel about me?". After the club, jina asks kungsang if he'd like to go to an amusement park with her, he says yes lol even though he doesn't like parks, jina says great, she hopes whj likes it too, he asks is she coming too? Jina says yes, it won't be fun without her.

That night kungsang is driving whj home and asks if she's busy during the weekend, lol whj is still angry from the coded rejection, she says

Lol they go for ice-cream, he doesn't even like it but has to eat it, jina says she wishes whj were there and asks if he had fun lewl he says yes, she says honestly her friend invited her to an all night party but her dad won't allow her stay out all night and begs kungsang to help her lie to her dad that they're working all night, he's uncomfortable but wants to please her so he agrees, she holds his hands in gratitude and he farts lmao, his voiceover, "they say your farts leak when you age, it's true" (me:honestly) lmao awkward silence, he starts to pretend the chair made the sound but lol they both know he's the one, she laughs, he laughs, his voiceover, "I'm too old for romance. That hurts" (me:dude you're 40, you're not old).

He gets home and he's cold and tired, he sleeps on the chair (oh I guess this is the day we see in the beginning cos he's wearing the same outfit). Whj is standing outside his door with groceries rehearsing a speech "the vegetables were cheap at the market, I bought too much, do you want some?" (me:aigoo love will turn the toughest person into cotton candy eww), she rings the doorbell, no answer, she calls his phone, she can hear it ringing from the house but he doesn't answer, he finally picks the call but is groaning, she panics and calls 911, and that's where the drama started from.

At the hospital, he regains consciousness and uhyeon is there watching him, kungsang asks what happened, did you bring me here?. Uhyeon says yes, why didn't you call me if you were sick, you fool.

Uhyeon is driving him back and is asking why he's leaving the hospital so soon. Kungsang says all he needs is a good rest at home. Uhyeon asks kungsang what his relationship is with whj, kungsang says they're just colleagues, uhyeon says he ran into her outside his house, are you 2 dating? Kungsang screams don't be ridiculous, that's horrific, does she seem like a woman to you? Don't link me to her.

At home kungsang calls jina, he asks where she is, she says she's shopping with her friends, he asks how the party was, she says she had a good time, she says he wasn't looking too good yesterday and asks if he's OK, he says he is, she says great, they'll go rafting or paragliding when the weather gets warmer (me:lol diswan will die because he wants to date sweet 16), she ends the call and oga starts to do push-ups, he can't do more than 5 and decides he needs to start eating stamina foods, he goes shopping (aigoo).

At the mall, he sees whj, they bow and she continues her shopping (obviously still pissed at him) he remembers her calling his name from the door, he goes to her and asks if she was at his house the day before? She goes "me, why would I do that?" (me:lewl) he says uhyeon mentioned that he ran into her in front of his house, she says yes she was passing by his area not visiting him. She asks if he likes potatoes, he says yes, she tells him that they should buy a carton of potatoes, share and end their exchange agreement with that. He says he likes the exchanges so he wants them to continue, she says she doesn't. They go to the cashier to pay for their groceries, she tells him it was cold and windy yesterday, you must have had a hard time keeping up with someone in their 20s, didn't you get sick? He says why do you care, are you jealous? She scoffs and says as if. Lol the cashier thinks they're a married couple so she calculates the cost of their groceries together, whj screams that's horrific, how dare you mistake us for a couple? Lol she walks away, kungsang apologizes to the cashier and tells her he'll pay for both of them.

The next day at work, a man walks up to kungsang and asks if he's kungsang ssi, kungsang says yes, the man says I'm jina's father. Kungsang stands up and greets him formally, he tells him jina is on her lunch break, Jina's dad eyes kungsang and says I'm not here to see her, I'm here to see you. Kungsang remembers the lie jina asked him to tell so she'd go for party. Jina's dad says he just came to confirm what happened on December 15th. Kungsang says they all worked that day, lol, jina's dad screams how dare you, he grabs kungsang by the collar and starts fighting him, everyone in the office starts looking, jina comes in and is shocked. Her dad slaps kungsang, jina runs to him and blocks him telling him kungsang did no wrong, dad says he just told me you worked overnight, he told me the same lie you told me, it's him right, you were with him all night? Jina says it wasn't him, it was someone else, dad doesn't believe her, she tells him she begged kungsang to lie to him, she says her dad has embarrassed her so she'll move out and start living in kungsang oppa's house, lol everyone is like *gasp*, kungsang is lost. Dad takes scissors and says he'll cut jina's hair, they start running round the office with the other staff running to separate them, they all run out leaving kungsang and whj in the office, he's too embarrassed to even look up.

He goes to hide in the meeting room, whj goes to comfort him, she tells him she's sure jina didn't notice he had feelings for her, you were just like an older cousin to her so don't feel betrayed, don't get hurt. Kungsang says so do you mean cos I was the only one that had feelings for her, I don't have the right to feel hurt? She says don't twist my words, you know that's not what I mean. He says you're the one that always twists words, I bet you're pleased, you must be really happy. She says I know you're upset but you should watch your words, he says why, You can rub it in if you want to but I can't speak? She wants to leave, he holds her hand and says I'm not done talking, don't you dare pity me, don't look down on me, also if you think you can approach me in my current situation, you can dream on, even if I'm desperate and lonely, I don't need to be comforted by you, he walks out.

3 days later he's at home alone, drinking wine and playing his puzzle, he notices that a piece is missing, the grocery store delivers the carton of potatoes he paid for with whj.

He takes the carton to her house, she asks him why he didn't just send her half over, he says he wants to divide it equally in her presence (me:what an excuse). Lol he looks around her house, it's unkempt, with her underwears hanging around, he shakes his head and says she's the only proper thing in the house, she asks him to take his half and go, he asks if she won't offer him a cup of tea, she ignores him (me:lol now who is approaching who aigoo), he says he wants them to exchange 1 more favor, she says she isn't interested. He asks her to go have steak with him for dinner at a hotel. She asks why, he says it's an apology, I'm sorry I got so mad that day, I don't even know why, it was partly because of jina but my pride was also hurt because you saw me like that, she asks what he means lol instead of mumu to tell her he likes her, he starts yelling, it's because you're always mean to me, I lost all my self esteem. She smiles and says so you annoy me like that and think steak can make up for it? He says don't bother if you don't want to, she asks what time do you want me to be there?(lol) he says he'll pick her by 5, he's about to leave, she stops him and gives him her jacket to wear home cos it's cold outside (aigoo they're cute), her phone starts to ring and she becomes awkward, kungsang wonders if it's "him" calling.

On his way home, he's inhaling her scent from her jacket (aigoo), his phone rings, it's uhyeon asking him to meet at a Cafe, uhyeon is surprised to see kungsang wearing a strange jacket. Uhyeon tells kungsang that his wife still wants a divorce and it's because of another woman, kungsang says so you really did cheat? Uhyeon says no, it was the woman that was obsessed with him, his wife found out and got mad, kungsang asked how she was obsessed? Uhyeon says she called me every night, she quit her job and followed me here, kungsang is shocked, he asks if the woman works in their company, uhyeon says yes, kungsang asks "do I know her?", uhyeon says yes, it's eunhong (btw that's whj) (me:*gasp*) kungsang is speechless, he says but our company scouted her, uhyeon says she found out where I worked and followed me here, we used to date. Kungsang says are you "him?", aren't you the one who calls first? (me:good attack the idiot), uhyeon says actually I used to like her a lot, I forgot about her when I got married, but things kept going wrong with my wife, it was nice seeing her again so I called her a few times (me:look at this idiot that said someone is obsessing over him), kungsang says so you 2 have been going out? Uhyeon says love can be a mental thing too so I guess you could say that (mtchewww)

Poor eunhong is getting ready for her date in the house (aigoo) and idiotic kungsang stands her up and refuses to pick her call(me:*sigh* why are men so annoying).

She comes out to go look for him and uhyeon is standing in front of her house, kungsang sees them through his window.

The next day at work, he avoids her all through, she waits for him by his car and asks if he can give her a ride, he tells her to look for another car (mtchewww), she asks why he didn't pick his call yesterday, he says he didn't feel like it, she asks why, you're the one who told me to wait? He says I thought about it and there was no reason for me to go there with you, even if I feel lonely and life feels meaningless, I shouldn't associate with just anyone, you should meet someone proper too, don't tease people just because you're lonely. She asks who teased who? He tells her she teased uhyeon (me:*sigh* somebody slap this bastard) you came to the company because of him, I wouldn't be able to work at the same place with my ex. She says is there something wrong with that? We are friends now. He says do you think uhyeon feels the same way (me:that one is the bi!tch's business), she says am I the bad one here, he says yes, do you know how much trouble you've caused for his family? She tells him he's being unfair to her, he drives off (me:good riddance please)

Kungsang goes to meet tipsy uhyeon at a bar, they drink to kungsang being transferred to head a new branch on Monday, uhyeon says who's going to drink with him and listen to his problems, kungsang tells him to talk with his wife or girlfriend. Uhyeon starts crying that his wife no longer picks his call, he picks his phone and says he'll call eunhong, kungsang is angry, uhyeon stops and says he won't call her cos his pride would be ruined forever, that eunhong told him to stop calling her cos she likes someone else, she said I never loved her and she only dated me cos she was lonely, she said I didn't offer love, only self pity and obsession. Kungsang says she's right, uhyeon is shocked, kungsang says you're really dependent, you pity yourself a lot, you're really obsessed with yourself, as a friend I'm going to give you an advice, you're really dirty, wash yourself, wash your heart and your body please. He leaves and runs to eunhong's house, she's outside talking on the phone with her mom, she slips on some snow and she's about to fall when kungsang catches her and hugs her (mtchewww big head).

His voiceover "I found the puzzle piece I thought I'd never find".

She's escorting him to the train station to go to his new branch, she tells him she's his guardian cos when she and uhyeon took him to the hospital she signed for him, she says her heart felt really warm when she did it, he says if she slumps he'll be her guardian, she says so you want me to go to the hospital, he says I just want us to keep exchanging favors. She tells him she'll call him every night, he says he'll send her potatoes, she says they have to watch new movies together, he says he'll change her light bulbs and taps, she says she'll come to watch the sunrise with him, he says call when you miss me, I'll come running. They shake hands. His voiceover "I've turned 40, I'm standing with this woman who has shattered my peaceful life, she's 40 too, holding each other's hands as we grow old together, that sounds nice". WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT
1. Yeah the story's cute, I like how I didn't see the eunhong-uhyeon part coming.

2. I also like the fact that it's a love story about people in their 40s, I think it's the first drama special I watched that wasn't about young people in love (40 isn't old tbh, but you get what I mean)

1. Well the fact that kungsang was a cynical, judgemental, myopic, patriarchal little coward, but I mean that's the story, he did change and become more open minded and he apologized, even though they didn't show me lol

(me:aigoo love will turn the toughest person into cotton candy eww), she rings the doorbell, no answer, she calls his phone, she can hear it ringing from the house but he doesn't answer, he finally picks the call but is groaning, she panics and calls 911, and that's where the drama started from.

At the hospital, he regains consciousness and uhyeon is there watching him, kungsang asks what happened, did you bring me here?. Uhyeon says yes, why didn't you call me if you were sick, you fool.

Uhyeon is driving him back and is asking why he's leaving the hospital so soon. Kungsang says all he needs is a good rest at home. Uhyeon asks kungsang what his relationship is with whj, kungsang says they're just colleagues, uhyeon says he ran into her outside his house, are you 2 dating? Kungsang screams don't be ridiculous, that's horrific, does she seem like a woman to you? Don't link me to her.

At home kungsang calls jina, he asks where she is, she says she's shopping with her friends, he asks how the party was, she says she had a good time, she says he wasn't looking too good yesterday and asks if he's OK, he says he is, she says great, they'll go rafting or paragliding when the weather gets warmer (me:lol diswan will die because he wants to date sweet 16), she ends the call and oga starts to do push-ups, he can't do more than 5 and decides he needs to start eating stamina foods, he goes shopping (aigoo).

At the mall, he sees whj, they bow and she continues her shopping (obviously still pissed at him) he remembers her calling his name from the door, he goes to her and asks if she was at his house the day before? She goes "me, why would I do that?" (me:lewl) he says uhyeon mentioned that he ran into her in front of his house, she says yes she was passing by his area not visiting him. She asks if he likes potatoes, he says yes, she tells him that they should buy a carton of potatoes, share and end their exchange agreement with that. He says he likes the exchanges so he wants them to continue, she says she doesn't. They go to the cashier to pay for their groceries, she tells him it was cold and windy yesterday, you must have had a hard time keeping up with someone in their 20s, didn't you get sick? He says why do you care, are you jealous? She scoffs and says as if. Lol the cashier thinks they're a married couple so she calculates the cost of their groceries together, whj screams that's horrific, how dare you mistake us for a couple? Lol she walks away, kungsang apologizes to the cashier and tells her he'll pay for both of them.

The next day at work, a man walks up to kungsang and asks if he's kungsang ssi, kungsang says yes, the man says I'm jina's father. Kungsang stands up and greets him formally, he tells him jina is on her lunch break, Jina's dad eyes kungsang and says I'm not here to see her, I'm here to see you. Kungsang remembers the lie jina asked him to tell so she'd go for party. Jina's dad says he just came to confirm what happened on December 15th. Kungsang says they all worked that day, lol, jina's dad screams how dare you, he grabs kungsang by the collar and starts fighting him, everyone in the office starts looking, jina comes in and is shocked. Her dad slaps kungsang, jina runs to him and blocks him telling him kungsang did no wrong, dad says he just told me you worked overnight, he told me the same lie you told me, it's him right, you were with him all night? Jina says it wasn't him, it was someone else, dad doesn't believe her, she tells him she begged kungsang to lie to him, she says her dad has embarrassed her so she'll move out and start living in kungsang oppa's house, lol everyone is like *gasp*, kungsang is lost. Dad takes scissors and says he'll cut jina's hair, they start running round the office with the other staff running to separate them, they all run out leaving kungsang and whj in the office, he's too embarrassed to even look up.

He goes to hide in the meeting room, whj goes to comfort him, she tells him she's sure jina didn't notice he had feelings for her, you were just like an older cousin to her so don't feel betrayed, don't get hurt. Kungsang says so do you mean cos I was the only one that had feelings for her, I don't have the right to feel hurt? She says don't twist my words, you know that's not what I mean. He says you're the one that always twists words, I bet you're pleased, you must be really happy. She says I know you're upset but you should watch your words, he says why, You can rub it in if you want to but I can't speak? She wants to leave, he holds her hand and says I'm not done talking, don't you dare pity me, don't look down on me, also if you think you can approach me in my current situation, you can dream on, even if I'm desperate and lonely, I don't need to be comforted by you, he walks out.

3 days later he's at home alone, drinking wine and playing his puzzle, he notices that a piece is missing, the grocery store delivers the carton of potatoes he paid for with whj.

He takes the carton to her house, she asks him why he didn't just send her half over, he says he wants to divide it equally in her presence (me:what an excuse). Lol he looks around her house, it's unkempt, with her underwears hanging around, he shakes his head and says she's the only proper thing in the house, she asks him to take his half and go, he asks if she won't offer him a cup of tea, she ignores him (me:lol now who is approaching who aigoo), he says he wants them to exchange 1 more favor, she says she isn't interested. He asks her to go have steak with him for dinner at a hotel. She asks why, he says it's an apology, I'm sorry I got so mad that day, I don't even know why, it was partly because of jina but my pride was also hurt because you saw me like that, she asks what he means lol instead of mumu to tell her he likes her, he starts yelling, it's because you're always mean to me, I lost all my self esteem. She smiles and says so you annoy me like that and think steak can make up for it? He says don't bother if you don't want to, she asks what time do you want me to be there?(lol) he says he'll pick her by 5, he's about to leave, she stops him and gives him her jacket to wear home cos it's cold outside (aigoo they're cute), her phone starts to ring and she becomes awkward, kungsang wonders if it's "him" calling.

On his way home, he's inhaling her scent from her jacket (aigoo), his phone rings, it's uhyeon asking him to meet at a Cafe, uhyeon is surprised to see kungsang wearing a strange jacket. Uhyeon tells kungsang that his wife still wants a divorce and it's because of another woman, kungsang says so you really did cheat? Uhyeon says no, it was the woman that was obsessed with him, his wife found out and got mad, kungsang asked how she was obsessed? Uhyeon says she called me every night, she quit her job and followed me here, kungsang is shocked, he asks if the woman works in their company, uhyeon says yes, kungsang asks "do I know her?", uhyeon says yes, it's eunhong (btw that's whj) (me:*gasp*) kungsang is speechless, he says but our company scouted her, uhyeon says she found out where I worked and followed me here, we used to date. Kungsang says are you "him?", aren't you the one who calls first? (me:good attack the idiot), uhyeon says actually I used to like her a lot, I forgot about her when I got married, but things kept going wrong with my wife, it was nice seeing her again so I called her a few times (me:look at this idiot that said someone is obsessing over him), kungsang says so you 2 have been going out? Uhyeon says love can be a mental thing too so I guess you could say that (mtchewww)

Poor eunhong is getting ready for her date in the house (aigoo) and idiotic kungsang stands her up and refuses to pick her call(me:*sigh* why are men so annoying).

She comes out to go look for him and uhyeon is standing in front of her house, kungsang sees them through his window.

The next day at work, he avoids her all through, she waits for him by his car and asks if he can give her a ride, he tells her to look for another car (mtchewww), she asks why he didn't pick his call yesterday, he says he didn't feel like it, she asks why, you're the one who told me to wait? He says I thought about it and there was no reason for me to go there with you, even if I feel lonely and life feels meaningless, I shouldn't associate with just anyone, you should meet someone proper too, don't tease people just because you're lonely. She asks who teased who? He tells her she teased uhyeon (me:*sigh* somebody slap this bastard) you came to the company because of him, I wouldn't be able to work at the same place with my ex. She says is there something wrong with that? We are friends now. He says do you think uhyeon feels the same way (me:that one is the bi!tch's business), she says am I the bad one here, he says yes, do you know how much trouble you've caused for his family? She tells him he's being unfair to her, he drives off (me:good riddance please)

Kungsang goes to meet tipsy uhyeon at a bar, they drink to kungsang being transferred to head a new branch on Monday, uhyeon says who's going to drink with him and listen to his problems, kungsang tells him to talk with his wife or girlfriend. Uhyeon starts crying that his wife no longer picks his call, he picks his phone and says he'll call eunhong, kungsang is angry, uhyeon stops and says he won't call her cos his pride would be ruined forever, that eunhong told him to stop calling her cos she likes someone else, she said I never loved her and she only dated me cos she was lonely, she said I didn't offer love, only self pity and obsession. Kungsang says she's right, uhyeon is shocked, kungsang says you're really dependent, you pity yourself a lot, you're really obsessed with yourself, as a friend I'm going to give you an advice, you're really dirty, wash yourself, wash your heart and your body please. He leaves and runs to eunhong's house, she's outside talking on the phone with her mom, she slips on some snow and she's about to fall when kungsang catches her and hugs her (mtchewww big head).

His voiceover "I found the puzzle piece I thought I'd never find".

She's escorting him to the train station to go to his new branch, she tells him she's his guardian cos when she and uhyeon took him to the hospital she signed for him, she says her heart felt really warm when she did it, he says if she slumps he'll be her guardian, she says so you want me to go to the hospital, he says I just want us to keep exchanging favors. She tells him she'll call him every night, he says he'll send her potatoes, she says they have to watch new movies together, he says he'll change her light bulbs and taps, she says she'll come to watch the sunrise with him, he says call when you miss me, I'll come running. They shake hands. His voiceover "I've turned 40, I'm standing with this woman who has shattered my peaceful life, she's 40 too, holding each other's hands as we grow old together, that sounds nice". I would rate this 6/10.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT
1. Yeah the story's cute, I like how I didn't see the eunhong-uhyeon part coming.

2. I also like the fact that it's a love story about people in their 40s, I think it's the first drama special I watched that wasn't about young people in love (40 isn't old tbh, but you get what I mean)

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT IT
1. Well the fact that kungsang was a cynical, judgemental, myopic, patriarchal little coward, but I mean that's the story, he did change and become more open minded and he apologized, even though they didn't show me lol
