Hello people, A friend of mine is trying to find the right NOC code for her application. She selected 0125 for both job experiences but with the recent trend of VOs denying some applications with Skill Type 0, I think it's wise and safe to ask for help here. First experience: Job Title - Analyst Responsibilities: - Financial dude diligence on a target company for a global private equity firm - financial analysis identifying major drivers of growth or decline in company's performance. - Vendor financial due diligence for a restaurant, in support of a sell-side mandate - Business valuation of an insurance company in Africa. - Administrative tasks on her engagements and the unit at large. I suggested NOC code 1112 for this job experience. What do you guys think? Second experience: Job Title - Associate Consultant Responsibilities: Market assessment and portfolio optimization - Conducted confidential due diligence on a $$$ quick service restaurant. Outlined winning strategies for recommended countries to enter. - Negotiation on behalf of an African oil and gas player looking to swap its offshore oil and gas assets for onshore producing assets of renowned global IOCs. Set-up swap scenarios and started business case for both parties. Corporate strategy - Developed a 5-year strategic plan for a $$ non-profit organization. Identified major flaws in current strategy and recommended radical changes to spur financial inclusion growth. - Developed a 3-year strategic plan for a financial provider in Africa. Demonstrated client management skills handling internal diagnostics module. Identified strategic initiatives expected to grow revenue by 50% Cost reduction - Adapted operational and organizational costs to changing business environment for an $$$ international oil and gas company. Identified initiatives expected to result in at least 30% cost savings. For this job experience, I suggested NOC code 1122. What do y'all think? @ednut1 @mamaroon @stencil @everyone-that-can-help Thank you!! |

sesan01: Agree with you...definitely not 0125, the JDs do not show middle or senior management responsibilities. A general comment about the way your friend's responsibilities are written....reads more like what they have done in the past than general JD.....not sure if it matters....just an observation. Your NOC suggestions for the jobs are probably the most likely matches and it is easy for someone in Finance to see that they are likely to be valid......BUT sometimes I think the job descriptions need to be a bit more detailed to help the VO since the decision is subjective and they are not experts on all industries. If your friend is able to get their employer to break it down further similar to the NOC (not cut and paste), it may be easier for a VO to pass it. Eg. financial analysis involves forecasts , cash flow etc. These are listed separately in the NOC but are consolidated/aggregated in the JD for 1st job. Also some things are completely missing from the JD for 2nd job that are in NOC 1122 (last 3 points) e.g supervising staff, quality audits ISO and reorg. Did he/she perform these? ..I hope there is some sort of training for VOs in NOC matching.....a very dicey something!!! Pls take everything I've said with a pinch of salt.....just personal opinion....pretending to be in a VOs head. Good NOC (luck) to us all. 5 Likes |

Please can anyone who has gotten their Permanent residence or paid for their Application processing fees and right of permanent residence explain how they paid. I heard something about a restriction on the amount of foreign currency that can be paid at once. |

Otoge: I don't think you understood what i wrote completely. My last paragraph should have informed you that I am willing to go and read up irrespective of what I asked. I am not what your post seems to paint and some parts of your reply wasn't very necessary, but...cheers. I take all in good faith. Someone already assisted with a list of acronyms btw 3 Likes |

Hi all, please when uploading bank statement of account for proof of salary payment or proof of funds payment into my account, is it necessary I highlight the inflows, maybe by highlighting with a colour or should I just leave the statement of account as it is? |

Elders please I need your counsel. IELTS have delayed me thus far, thank God the jinx was broken 2weeks ago. Here is my situation; Although my previous IELTS result was not perfect, I opened an EE profile last year September with the hope of using it for PNP applications.(Sadly, none ever worked out, I was there with hope and faith) To the glory of God, I have aced IELTS now but my profile will expire in September and I am sure by God's grace I would have ITA before then. My Questions: 1. Should I withdraw the existing application and start a new application? 2. If I proceed with the current profile (which I have now updated), will the account expiration affect my application when I am now in the whole documentation process? Please kindly advise! Thanks in anticipation. |

If your present CRS score is close to give you an ITA in the next draw, I'll suggest you just update alone. CrystalMax: 2 Likes |

Onebase79: I am so sorry about this. I can understand your frustration. First, I'd advice you take a break and take your mind off retaking the exam immediately. Just read regularly for pleasure. Read blogs; follow post of excellent writers on Social Media; read books and take notes of new words and their usage; download documentaries (DW is my favorite) on Youtube and watch ... (watch this space as I update this) Second, check my profile to see what I wrote on my journey to band 9. I don't know if you are believer or not, but I pray for you in the name of Jesus that in your next exam you will clinch band 9. Amen. You will have testimony in Jesus name. Amen. 10 Likes 2 Shares |
