Just imagine this beautiful structure mostly powered by Generator..

So long as it is powered, what is your problem?

You won't even know when they're using a gen in this type of building.

Udom Emmanuel. The GOAT..
I like this man.

The government has enough money to make the country what it should, but you see the gullible simps who call themselves youths taking sides with these polithiefians and defending mediocrity.
Any Governor who does lesser than Udom normally should rot in jail, but our youths feel at home with mediocrity.

What's the big deal in spending readily available money for what it's meant for? It's only in Nigeria you see youths celebrating their leaders who use 5% of money to build roads while the remaining 95% is embezzled.
Suffering and smiling shiithole.

There's really nothing to clarify here. In a sane country, most of these governors and leaders whom the youths celebrate would have rot in jail.
What Udom is doing, i don't expect anything lesser from each state, if not because suffering and smiling has become a lifestyle for most Nigerians.

You are a complete DUNCE, just like the idiots who liked your rotten, spiteful post.

Where did you get the 95% - 5% figures?

Out of Uranus?

You must be a really sad fellow to see PROGRESS and spit on it.

Nigeria is a DEVELOPING COUNTRY, in the same company as 80% of nations on earth.

There is NOTHING to be ashamed of in being from a developing nation. Corruption, mismanagement, social unrest, poverty, are all part and parcel of being a DEVELOPING NATION.

So also are wealth, development projects, political evolution (when was the last time you heard of a coup in Nigeria?) etc etc.

ACCEPT YOU COME FROM A DEVELOPING NATION. You are not America. Or Britain. Or Germany. Your annual budget is 35 billion USD based on mostly oil and gas earnings. The USA's annual budget is 6.1 TRILLION dollars.

Japan 1.7 trillion dollars

Germany, 1.6 trillion dollars

France, 1.4 trillion dollars

UK, 847 billion dollars.

Spain, 535 billion dollars

Nigeria, 35 billion dollars

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_government_budget

Nigeria is NOT a rich country.

With or without corruption, we would still struggle to develop.

Our main challenge is to raise national income via diversification from oil and gas.

When a 2nd skyscraper goes up in Uyo, a place that was virtually a village a few years back, it is a sign of a BUSINESS FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT, and of the slow but steady economic transformation of the region it represents, and by extension, of the country.

Applaud it.

Update: Akwa Ibom State government commence contruction of another smart building 18storey smart building after a request was made by companies interested in having thier South east head office in the state.

Its confirmed that 30 more companies have shown interest in the 21 storey building which resurrect the construction of this new 18 storey building complex in the same business district in Uyo...

This result is indeed a proven promise made by the state government to make Akwa Ibom kingdom home of both industrialisation and a skyliner state in Nigeria and beyond..

Find attached pix of work commencement.

I am worried about the lack of constant electricity. Setting up this beautiful structure with only hope of constant electricity coming from a generator still shows the failure of the central government to provide basic amenities.

The have alternative source of power
I think it's gonna be the other way round. The generator will be the main source of power, while whatever they are called, PHCN, will be the alternative.
Any government that gives Nigeria upto 75% constant electricity will be the best! The transformation that will come with it is unimaginable!

I bet the dependence on the national electric power will be close to zero.

I wish a government will just enter power to ensure steady power supply in one of the powerful nations in Africa.

grin grin grin

You will think that the governor will prioritise electricity, sewage and water supply and let private companies build their own office building. Nigeria must be the only country where monorails and skyscrapers ae more important than electricity.

Nigeria is an underdeveloped country.

A country with a population of 200 million, bless with arable lands and mineral resources such as oil, iron ore, gold, copper, cobalt etc..... shouldn't be proud to publish a budget of $35 billion.
