Oh you’ve to. I don’t know they grade MSc like that in Nigeria. It depends on saqa then.

Please my fellow Nairialander's I want to know if the consulate office in Lagos opened for official duties, I need a visa to South Africa.
I need directions on how to go about it I and help and direction

#1. The South African Consulate in Lagos does not directly attend to Nigerian Citizens with the exception of Nigerian Diplomats. VFS is the official partner of the South African High Commission/South African Embassy that relates with Nigerian citizens.
At the moment, due to Coronavirus and international flight restrictions, VFS has closed all shops (Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt) UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!

#2. There are speculations that South Africa may not be opened to visitors until next year February 2021. 2. Yes there are
3. Accommodation ranges from 30K to 80K per month, depending on location and whether it is shared or not. And you pay monthly not yearly.
4. Yes you can work as a teaching assistant or part-time lecturer, depending on the opportunities in your field of study.
5. Yes, it's very easy to get study visa for PhD, so long as you have all the required documents.
6. It depends on your destination in SA and on airline, ranging from 120K to 180K, it fluctuates, you may even get cheaper flights if you book way before your travel date.
7. Lots of academic opportunities for PhD holders in SA, it depends on what you mean by academic opportunities.
8. Salient factors - don't live more than your means, watch the company you keep in SA and be focused on your work, most importantly - God factor.
9. It depends on your lifestyle, but food ain't expensive in SA, the last time I checked. Public transport is also very cheap.
10. SAQA ranges from 2 weeks to 3 months or more, depending on when your school verifies your documents. Yes you need your WAEC or NECO, including scratch card that they will use to check your result online, it's a new requirement.
11. SAQA will send your document to your school for verification after which they will issue you a SAQA certificate.
12. Usually you will need to send to both but different universities have different requirements.

Be prayerful, hopeful and optimistic, and it will make more sense if you can confirm if your supervisor has funding for postgraduate students, it will make you have a very soft landing but there are scholarship opportunities as well, though competitive for foreigners but it's not impossible to get, depending on your field of study.


NB: I stand to be corrected on any above if anyone has any recent info about any of the questions, please share.

Well articulated response. But since he is applying for PhD his MSc degree should be sufficient for SAQA evaluation. I doubt he needs to tender his WAEC results and BSc transcripts.

As much as I can recall, I did not submit my senior secondary school certificate/transcript then..

I stand to be corrected if this is otherwise.

You only need to evaluate one degree with saqa. Hence, your latest MSc is enough. Which should give you a NQF level 9 for direct Phd admission.

I dunno any new mode, just normal sending documents via courier. You don’t need waec. Your degree is enough. It should be free to certify but I dunno how much to wet hand.

Good day nairalanders, I applied for four different undergraduate program at WITS university, I really want Nursing and i picked the other course just to fill up space. I notice on my admission status they wrote application is under consideration for other program while nursing is awaiting university experience, please I don't understand what they meant ooo, can someone please explain to me, though I have B.Agric already.

With the current situation and new saqa rules due to Covid 19 you don't need to certify any document.

The order in which my names appear on saqa is different from the way it appears on my certificate.
I filled the form well.
Is their arrangement different?
Instead of idowu oluwarimi joshua,its showing oluwarimi joshua idowu.
