But why are urhobos people too funny and trikish

I tell you almost all of them I know I get tired of them easily

No wonder they keep calling them Wayo people

All Delta, all Bendel (Edo ) na wayo, except on individual level.....they are not like some tribes that need school to show they are intelligent, that may even have problem communicating in general languages like English or pidgin.... There are some States u will enter( including the West, apart from Lagos) u will almost feel lost due to culture & language but not MID West.

Nice dance move

Fear urhobo girls ehnnn when it comes to coitus
... although most of them nor sexy at all
Those girls can bang life out of you
They enjoy sex like men. Probably because they are not circumicised.....

Same thing with ijaw, itsekiri and kwale girls
Reaching orgasm is very easy for them..... they get wet so easily! remember those years for Uniben...one itsekiri girl nearly kill me with sex...
Every day banging.....

come is there any other thing u take interest in apart from sex n smoke?

Its good you posted this thread during time of our festive month. You didn't add that the "Ema" dance is only for Royalties only. When a king is to be coronated, when the king gives titles and when the king perform his yearly festive rituals to his predecessors (spirits of kings) so on these days kings dances EMA together with his princes and princesses and his Chiefs. No commoner dances EMA dance if a commoner dances it the spirits dances it with the commoner and that will make the commoner dance into land of the dead but royalties dance it together with the great spirits except for entertainment after necessary rituals to Spirits of Kings Mind u nobody can dance EMA dance with their cap on the head except the dance is outside the palace. I invite y'all for our festival this month.

Thanks for your contributions Oniovo.

I added that the Ema dance was made for special occasions such as when a king is coronated or when a chieftancy title is being given.

The dance is a very powerful dance, sometimes I'd wonder how these guys manage to dance this energetic dance for hours. Indeed the Spirits of our forebears are with them.

I think if dey want to find an ancient history of benin for documents it should be with the urhobo people, our ancient will understand the Urohobo language better than any current benin man

You guys maintain our ancient words like oghene, kokodia, mudia and the other we have lost over time in history

lol you funny oo. I stayed with my mum and my late grandma. they do speak urhobo to me and my elder sister but we reply them in English or pidgin. you're very right about your niggas turning full Yoruba due to their culture. it's has affected me alot. I find it easy to speak Yoruba than urhobo self and my accent has totally changed. honestly I wished I grew up in Delta I really love Delta state. I spent some of my childhood there. I stayed in sapele, ughelli and abraka before I left. I even schooled there. then my pidgin was conc Delta pidgin not the yeye one I speak now

You are right, AreaFada2 once told me that in those days, a Bini man could easily understand the Urhobo, but not anymore.

I myself can pick one or two when a Bini man speaks.

I once dated an Urhobo girl

That babe was so loving, hard-working, caring and beautiful

But I got worried when I learned that the Urhobos don't bury the corpse of their wives in their husbands' hometowns

Sincerely, I didn't like that. It was as though I was just borrowing their daughter to bear kids for me.

Anyways, we broke up when I moved to Lagos and she refused to join me because she is a single mom.

We are still friends and talk till date. I will never forget the way she makes me delicious Banga soup

Migwo! grin

Same with esan obasanjo hail for esan own, my Urohobo aunty was taking home to Buhari someone who had a benin name, throughout her life i dont think she spent up to an hour in delta state she grew up in her mother place benin till death,
The culture is nice sha i think it is an ediod culture but Benin did away it is own

Lol.. okpe still get some kind words wey align reach now sef like
Osunobugwe Okpe= Osonobwawe Edo

Whenever Any orodje of okpe passes on, the tradition has it that they must inform the Oba of benin. Infact na Oba Of Benin dey coronate any new Orodje Of Okpe... And there are some strategic decisions the orodje of okpe may want to take that he'd need to consult the oba of benin. like there was a time when the former orodje wife flirted around and when she was wearing her royal bead she collapsed. it was the Oba of benin that told the orodje of okpe to divorce her when he insisted on keeping her.

I'm pretty sure the former oba of benin would have a first hand knowledge about okpes

When we went to bury my urhobo aunt who her mum happened to come from benin from my paternal family, when the urhobo elders were speaking i could understand everything they said with no stress not just me but our benin family families that accompanied her there, some Urohobo words we didnt understand were words in benin we would call vocabulary in the now benin language, without interpretation from them we understood what they said..... And we laff at how they sounded speaking a form of benin

Beautiful. We must return to the TRADITIONAL Animist RELIGION of our ancestors.

99.9% of Nigerian problems will be solved

We must take our roots seriously.

We must respect the nature and all living things around us. From the smallest owl or cat to the largest bat or elephant. This is most important. Everything else is secondary.

We must be upright and revive our ethos. No matter the negative forces we face around us. We must be strong.

We must learn to respect women. Regardless of the attitudes we face.

I think you both need jesus.
You're a walking contradiction, you know that?... You proscribe Traditional animist religion as an answer to all our problems. Only to go ahead later, telling some dudes they need Jesus
