PowerOfLove:these union of something are not serious. They are just reporting something that took place in march. The unions cannot play ignorant of it. The rumour had been there since last year and nothing serious was done about it until it eventually came to pass. |

Where will the money come from yet you hear of billions of naira missing in nddc, nnpc. where as crude oil is drilled and some part of it is refined (I know you haven't visited any plant in those refineries before to see) in niger delta states thats why you say where would the money come from. Foolish Nigerian. Do you know the subsidiaries in nnpc that has various functions. |

Eriggs:. Go and sleep at least their government supported their citizens during the pandemic in the way they can and their are free to education loans up to universities with 24hrs electricity and other benefits as a citizens in the country, what can you as a citizen be proud to say? You're the same people that would say how much do Nigerians pay as tax? Let me tell you in Ghana, at the federal universities they got loan's for students who are needy to source from which is sponsored by the government, free without payment, some other African countries same thing. what of Nigeria?(zero). I hope you heard the billions that is missing during this covid 19? 2 Likes |

I think the major problem is that the economy is stagnant, not expanding, whereas the population of young working class men and women is surging. It would seem the exodus of millions out of the country is indirectly a blessing otherwise with all those millions still within the Nigerian space, the unemployment level would have been even more staggering. I wonder what the near future holds in the face of even a contracting economy. |

onyechez: The guy is very right. That is why Obj & Atiku wants Refineries sold. NNPC is too big which accounts for corruption and inefficiency. Refineries have MD and board. Once it cannot sustain itself and generate returns on investment, it should be sold. You cannot bring money from Crude oil sales or from royalties from oil companies to run an ineffective company. If the Refineries cannot cannot pay salaries, they can lay off staff or transfer those staff to another organization. |

Do we have refinery, they should be ghost workers. What are they doing in refinery for 15yrs and getting salary without refining a litre of petrol. They should be sacked and re-sacked as many times as possible. Rubbish. Next one is Ajaokuta. |

Meritocracy: You have just said the truth that people on this forum do not like. Go to Warri refinery and see them trooping out after 4pm as if they have done anything for the day. Nigerians generally do not mind gossiping all day at work and being paid at month end. Awaiting insults soon.... till then.... |

Adonko:I doubt the bold.. i really doubt that would even change in a hundred years from now going by the mindset of the younger generations and their display of block headed foolishness on NL and other social media. How much have you not hear that's been budgeted for the upgrade and maintenance of the refineries in Nigeria? why is such funds not meeting the so called capacity as they claimed it will be? For example EPCL a subsidiary of nnpc was sold and bought by Dr Peter odili and his consort despite claims it is not meeting expectations and can't pay salaries, it was sold out to a private firm and it didn't bring anything more or less, many Nigerians was sacked because of this corrupt leaders due to selfish interests. Obasanjo privatized nepa and claimed it would improve or turn around the capacity of electricity in Nigeria, what has happened since then? Don't let these corrupt Nigerian leaders deceive you? If nnpc cannot pay salaries" how was the current GMD of nnpc able to fund 2 billion dollars to build a hospital in the north in this COVID-19? Imagine a country like Nigeria don't have a registry of the daily funds nnpc accrued daily since we started drilling and refining crude oil , (what do you think would happen to those funds?) (Can you as a person run a business without taking records of your daily sales? How is that possible.) please and please before that your friend debate or post anything, the person should be aware of what he or she is talking about. What a country. |

They conducted a recruitment last year and the support staff were advised to apply with other applicants. As with every recruitment, not everyone gets taken. So this 850 disengaged staff were the ones that fell out from the recruitment process. |

It's so pathetic that in Nigeria, different unions are always using things for the benefit of themselves. Where is NUPENG when the rumour was going round that they want to sack Contract staffs? They were aware of their salaries all these while but what did they do as a union towards it? NOTHING...Refinery contract staffs were not allowed to join NUPENG which they were aware of, They didn't do anything also.. NNPC have sacked Contract staffs, which took place since March, 2020, now that they are broke, they bring it up as an issue so that NNPC will call for a meeting with them and they'll end up going home with money & smiling to the bank. These is becoming a norm in Nigeria...Do you know how much some individuals and government agencies have made just by giving false information concerning Covid-19 in Nigeria? Same people are ready to see that government announces another lockdown for them to make more money and ensures that there will be no end to these covid 19 menace. That's how even in the military, some generals will make sure that there is no end to Boko Haram issue so that they will keep making free money while millions are dying every day. NUPENG can come up with tangible issues but not these one. There are issues like making enquiries into the NNPC conducted interview for Experienced Hired which some Contract staffs that applied are also part of. It's been over a year, the GTs have resumed, so what's keeping the EHs? There are still Contract staffs left behind in the system, fight for good pay package for those fortunate ones..Fight for them to become part of NUPENG... Fight for eradication of contract staffing in oil & gas industry and if that's not possible, then let there be a time frame like 3-5years working as Contract staff then conversion to permanent staff with industries like Banking, Telecommunication and others inclusive. I was sacked as a contract staff in Warri Refinery too but believe me when I say Contract staffing is modern day slavery of Nigerian graduates. Let's say "NO" to it so that the fortunate ones left behind will enjoy their stay. It's Ale'to.....E'Africa...!!!!! E'Africa........It's Aleto...... !!!!! Struggle continues.........!!!! Victory is sure.....!!!! |
