My wife did same operation 3 years ago and it was successful, she needs attention of a very good surgeon

Get a gynae opinion..

Typify pain.. Is it intermittent or constantly there..
What analgesia does she need

As it looks chronic... Duration of pain.
Menstrual pattern in relation to pain.
Any previous surgeries or drug allergies

No signs of torsion or bleed into POD is reassuring... From Scan findings


Aim for .... Surgery in good laparoscopic gynae hands + anaesthetist with regular electricity

Otherwise monthly injections if thought to be endometriosis with scan surveillance

I lost a sister last year due to ovarian cyst, we asked her over the years to go for surgery but for fear of going under the knife she delayed the process by resorting to Chinese herbal stuff. Please the OPs friend in hospital should go for surgery. Surgery she needs.

Normally some cyst should heal gradually with time.

6cm x 5cm is sizable though, but it could resolve on its own with time.
But if the pain is unbearable then surgical remove is the best option

Dear Poster, I really share your concern. Thank God is not demoid cyst which is most stubborn amongst cyst and can only be removed via surgery.

There is no big deal about the surgery unless it is done by quack just relax and pray for the person..

She experiences periodical stomach ache so she went for a test and it was discovered that her left ovary has cyst in it. Now they are saying she has to go through surgery which is scary. Here is the medical test result that has the terms:

PELVIC USS
- The uterus is non-gravid, with uniform myometrial echo-texture. It measures about 40mm in its AP diameter.
- The endometrial plate is intact and normal.
- However, a sonolucent cyst mass with internal echoes is seen within the right adnexium measuring about 60mm × 52mm in size.
- Left adnexium and Pouch of Douglas appear normal.
- No Fibroid is seen.

CONCLUSION
I) Acyesis
II) Right Haemorrhagic Cyst

I may not be a guru in your case, but I know a trusted highly recommended hospital where dey do Fibroid operations successful with no issue. I know someone who did there as well

Dear Op, don't be too scared about the ovarian cyst surgery. it's not as difficult as people think if properly supervised by competent hands. my worries for you is money because the surgery is very expensive(#500k or #900k for the two different medical processes). my friend had the same case and she was operated in February, 2020 with a successful result and she is doing fine. she did hers at Lagoon private hospital, Awolowo way, ikeja, so government teaching hospital charges should be less than private hospitals' charges.

Meanwhile today was horrible for me

I was arrested by task force at Oshodi bcox I wasn't putting on a face mask... They threatened to take me to magistrate court....

I opted to transfer 2k for them so as to let me go coz I wasn't fine at all.. My stomach was even upsetting me.. The man set he can't take transfer coz he doesn't want to be traced...

He sha directed me to a pos center, naso I withdraw 2k give them.

2ndly, I enter bus dey go Onipanu, so the bus carry me pass bus stop but as I tell am, he stopped by the road to drop me.. As I dropped, immediately I noticed two danfos blocked him, from front n back.... I think it's last man, as I saw them.., mehn I took to my heels so dt they wunt arrest.. Men I ran, I didn't even bother to look even if they were pursuing me or not, I just ran gringringringringringrin

Today is so horrible for me... For Maryland, naso those people wey dey sweep express dey fight aboki lawma wey dey pack dirty with motor..

Too much drama but the 2k dey pain me ooo.


I don even tire 4 Lagos.. I feel like relocating to another cool state

Sorry about your experiences today, that was how I was tired of Lagos too & i kept saying it until God heard it & relocated me.

What is wrong with people? @op, you left the professional advice of career medical doctors, after tests and diagnosis, and came on nairaland to listen to all sorts of opinion with no filter, even the most ignorant person's advice will factor into your decision now. You didn't even seek a second opinion in another hospital or get advice from a specialist.
Well, I will hazard a guess on what you want, you want to be told of a "herbal remedy" that can wipe out the cyst right? Beware though, time is ticking, people die due to wanton experimentation and the wastage of time.
That's my own advice you asked for

I have the same issue and would be undergoing surgery anytime from now on. The only I have about it is money. I will be happy to do the surgery and be free from pain.
Nothing is scary about undergoing surgery.

You Nigerians make me sick. This is as a result of too much religious indoctrination that makes everything evil in the eyes of an average Nigerian. See the surgery as a means to solve an existing problem than seeing it as a problem on it's own. It becomes a problem when you embrace quack Doctors. Even the so-called educated are not left out of the religious foolishness. I am a Christian but I choose how I follow and detect foolishness when I see one.
