With what I'm reading about Osimhen, it seems we actually underrate him on this thread

Like wtf!?

Yes, the europeans rate him higher than we think. I am surprised myself. I actually see him as just a good young player that will improve with time. Maybe they are wrong or right i dont know. Besides Lequipe is a credible news source so he will probably end up in Napoli

Is Victor Osimhen really the future of Nigerian football. Will he lead us to a world cup semi final and dominate african and world football. Only time will tell

One man can't do it all

We need to build a TEAM and Rohr has been doing a fine job at that

The way things are going. Osimhen could become Africa's most expensive signing of all time, this summer, beating the Nicolas Pepe transfer record.

81 million euros being mentioned which translates to about 73.5 million pounds. That's a little more than the 80million euros (72 million pounds Arsenal spent on Pepe).

Time will tell if it is a new African transfer record fee or not.

But one thing I know is this: Osimhen will move for a big fee. He will most likely do well in Italy and achieving star status in the Serie A will fetch an even bigger transfer fee in his prime or near his prime. This young man is gonna cost 100million + euros someday. Just watch out.

L'equipe reports that Napoli Coach, Gennaro "Rino" Gattuso is willing/ready to take a pay cut just to see Osimhen's transfer fee completed and his personal terms met. It is L'equipe reporting. That's some real desperation if true.

Thursday approaches fast.

Yieh! For real?

His exploit in France did the younh man a whole world of good.

I can't wait to have him paint the whole of Italy with goals.

I'm totally certain he'd deliver.

Very interesting indeed. Never thought we had a Nigerian coaching in the top flight of Europe's backwaters. But the funny thing is I know the man but just didn't know about his coaching exploits in Albania. As a young kid back then, I remember his name as a goalie from the year 2000 and 2002 who was part of our Afcon squads then. Ndubuisi Egbo. I believe he also had a stint at Julius Berger.

Berger was a popular team in Lagos in those days so I surely would remember a few things for someone so little then.

This is really nice man. I think we will be seeing his team then in the UCL qualifying playoffs. wink

From what I read on wiki, he started out as a goalkeeper trainer there..
This is really good..

Hopefully Enyeama will have this kind of career progression..
It's no easy for African coaches to get major roles in Europe...even in the backwater leagues.

Victor Osimhen had some disagreements with his old agents. He has now entrusted himself to a new agent under the direction of Lille president Gerard Lopez. There may be further updates in the next few hours.

According to L'equippe, Rino Gattuso would be willing to give up part of his salary in order to conclude the deal with Lille. Osimhen would earn almost € 5 million per season, which is almost eight times higher than his current one.

I read about him some months ago, he started as a goal keeper trainer, after a run of poor performance by his team, the then coach was sacked and he was upgraded to position of an interim coach, I guess he is now their permanent coach.

My brother. E no easy at all. Really excited at Egbo's progress in Albania. Thanks for bringing us to the light of a Nigerian coach doing it in Europe. Will begin following him actively.

I also got my eyes on this Senegalese, Daniel Thioune (born to a German mom and Senegalese dad), that did well with Felix Agu's club, Osnabrück before he was now appointed just this summer as Hamburg's new coach. I understand he shares similar coaching philosophy with Julian Nagelsmann.
