According to L'equippe, Rino Gattuso would be willing to give up part of his salary in order to conclude the deal with Lille. Osimhen would earn almost € 5 million per season, which is almost eight times higher than his current one.

Gattuso give up part of his salary ?

Hmmmmm ,well it’s possible but am not sure when some players Dey the team wey dem fit even sell self or to even collect pay cut

Na Temu Pukki you dey call fraud?

He started well you know and became targeted by defenders. It isn't easy yo maintain tempo for a player who just played in the EPL for the first time

Exactly...

But if its true, and Osimhen finally agrees to join them, then he better be ready to hit the ground running ASAP

At this moment he probably is... But if he fails to win the next Afcon he's a FRAUD

To me, if he gets to the Final proper, win or loose, then he has done well

Very interesting indeed. Never thought we had a Nigerian coaching in the top flight of Europe's backwaters. But the funny thing is I know the man but just didn't know about his coaching exploits in Albania. As a young kid back then, I remember his name as a goalie from the year 2000 and 2002 who was part of our Afcon squads then. Ndubuisi Egbo. I believe he also had a stint at Julius Berger.

Berger was a popular team in Lagos in those days so I surely would remember a few things for someone so little then.

This is really nice man. I think we will be seeing his team then in the UCL qualifying playoffs. wink

Whether he hit the ground running or not, he will be given ample time to succeed... Naples can't put 81million Euros on bench

I'm talking as a matter of personal conviction....its only fair from a conscience standpoint that as a player, if someone sacrificed fr you to get there, you hit the ground running as soon as possible

Don't understand this also. It seems Napoli did not want to extend his contract but due to the good run of form, their hands are forced.

TheLoneCitizen:
Since I couldn't find competitive stats for Haaland, I decided to pitch Osimhen against the best young strikers in the world. Rashford has played more games on the wings and doesn't qualify.

Osimhen is the youngest of the six which are Mbappe, Lautaro Martinez, Gabriel Jesus, Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele. League stats only.

Goal contribution per minute ratio: Osimhen ranks 5th best in this aspect. Better than only Martinez. Werner is on another level here.

Importance to Team
Rating: How does the player rate among teammates?
Timo Werner and Osimhen are the only ones that are rated the best in their team, the rest have at least one player better than them.

Goal contribution Percentage: How much goal responsibility is the striker shouldering for his team?
Osimhen absolutely smashes it here. His team has scored just 35 goals and he has contributed 17, which is almost half of the team's goal. He is followed closely by Timo.

First goal: This is important because some players score when their team is leading, others score to equalize. But the opener/first goal in a match is very important because it determines where the momentum will fall.
Martinez has scored 8 openers in just 20 games, followed by Osimhen's 9 in 25,then Werner's 9 in 29.

Holding On To the Ball: How well does a player hold up the ball before opponent pounce. Osimhen is the 3rd hardest player to disposesss behind Werner and Mbappe.

MOTM Awards: This is important because some players rack up stats over poor performances. A player might be scoring but not playing well.
Osimhen ranks 3rd with 4 MOTM, behind Werner(10) and Mbappe(6)

Defensive Contribution - Pressure: How much times has the striker pressured opponents to make decisions. Osimhen is nightmare to defenders always keeping them on their toes with 439 presses, followed by Martinez (385) and Werner(380)

STRIKING ABILITIES
Finishing: How much of the player's shot troubles the keeper?
Osimhen is the worst of the six when it comes to finishing, more than half of his shots won't trouble GKs. Jesus, Werner & Mbappe are most accurate.

Expected Goals: How much goal has the striker scored compared to what his chances?
Werner turns stone to bread here. He is supposed to have scored 20 goals but has 25, followed by Dembele who turned 11 goals into 16. Jesus wasted 3.2 goals followed by Osimhen who threw 2 goals away.

Aerial Prowess: How much headers do they win?
Osimhen is almost two times better than the next player, Moussa Dembele.

Osimhen comes out 3rd in this stats even though he plays in an average team. Bring on the Haaland.

Napoli are working to reach a final agreement with Victor Osimhen, who has already said 'yes' to the transfer. Giuntoli is in Sardinia to discuss the wages (€5m per year before taxes) and the commissions that the Nigerian's new agent.

Not true. I have mentioned that Osimhen needs to translate his aerial dominance into headed goals. He is yet to score much from headers despite his aerial prowess but that will hopefully come with time and more hardwork.

Today Mark's exactly five years since Raheem sterling left Liverpool for Manchester city and the English winger has been unearthing some hateful tweets about the move.

I find this one particularly interesting sad.

Exactly, I'm sorry for generalizing.

He is an aerial domme but non of his 13 league goals have come with his head. One more reason why I rate Dessers above him.
