As a buyer, I think it is possible but for seller, I don't think so.

SH can't recognize good names I guess. Have these short unregistered one word, pronouceable dictionary product/service domains(two domains) rejected at SH. I only creatively added a vowel to each and I was lucky they were available. Similar names on different services were sold on many marketplaces and even on SH but they were swiftly rejected by SH.

After SH rejection, Sent them privately to two trusted VIPs on Namepros to take a look at it for me but they couldn't believe why SH could reject such a treasure as they call it. They said they don't deal with SH.

Those familiar with SH, can I register the two names and then resubmit to them?

Brandables don't start and end at SH. If you are so sure they are treasures, register and list them at Afternic and other marketplaces.

You could also submit to BB. They seem to have better taste. But even if it's still rejected, as long as you're convinced of their worth, go ahead and register them.

The second guy is not really interested. He is toying with you.

If the name is generic enough, search for more end users.

How do you know the second guy is not really interested?

Do you know the name?

Do you know if the name is truly worth more than the seller even knows?

Do you know you do not have enough information to make such inference?

Well, another thing you can do is to type your questions on google and add Nairaland. It will direct you back to this thread and the page where similar questions have been answered. That is what I do everytime although I started this thread from page 1 and now I’m here. Goodluck all the same.

This is always the complain and nothing is getting better. The people in government are Nigerians like you and I. When they leave, young people will fill up the position and most likely, prove to be worse. Yahaya Bello is a good example.

The govt may be a huge part of the problem but what about everyone else?

We all are doing at least one thing wrong that's not helping our country. I don't expect anyone to agree with me though. We always like to think of ourselves as the smart guys that does things solely for our own benefit not minding the effect on others.

Politicians will loot funds meant for the public good, Contractors will inflate cost of executing a project, employers will treat employees like slaves, paying them money barely enough for their needs. Employees will steal from workplace or even plan a heist as seen recently with some bank robberies.

Lecturers will demand money or sex for grades, students will pay or cheat just to get the certificate. People will abuse position of trust. Even clerics are not left out. We've heard cases of pastors or church executives stealing from the church.

Talk about the youths? We are at the forefront. Can't do any honest dealing online. Even the physical dealings sef, you have to pick a location where you won't be robbed or killed. I can order for one million goods on AliExpress and sleep in peace but can't send 20,000 naira to a business person I've not met before on Nairaland because I fit don enter one chance. Honest Nigerians are even scared to disclose their identity when doing business online. Thanks to the activities of Hushpuppi, Invictus Obi, and many others not so popular.

Talk about systemic corruption, civil servants are are not left out. Defrauding the govt is common among them. One person taking salary of ten people under ghost employment. Won't sign documents if you don't give tips, security protocols won't let you see oga if you don't give tips. Private organizations are not left out too.

I was on the job vacancies thread during the NDLEA online recruitment. The reason why many people are interested in the job is because they believe one can make fast money from collecting scheduled bribes from the people they're meant to bring to justice. When they don't get the job (which many probably won't), they blame the politicians for job racketeering.

Report that a cleaner returned lost money to the owner and you'll hear things like na suffer go kee dis one, God don pick im call but the idiot hang up. These are the same set of people blaming the woes of the country on the politicians. What they lack is the opportunity to do worse than the politicians are currently doing.

The police officer you despise was once like you before taking up the job. The intimidating SARS officers didn't drop from the sky. If you have a soldier friend and you have a disagreement with someone, dat pesin don hear am cos you go use your soldier friend intimidate am.

Crazy country with self-righteous citizens!

Politicians won't obey traffic rules. Their security escort must clear the path so they can hurry along. Where are they in a hurry to? Even rich folks will request for private security from the police to guide their houses simply because they have the money. And when we leave the shores of this country, we behave ourselves out there. Something we've refused to do here.

Whenever you feel like laying blame on the politicians, think about what you're doing that's not helping Nigeria. Maybe if we all start doing this, our country will become better.
Felt like tearing after reading these simple truths that my people won't succumb to. The very things that bug my mind every passing day. How can you be insulted for trying to do right? Being called 'mumu' for saying our country can be better? Well, the few of us who are interested, i believe we can make it work. I always say am a student of the school of thought that instead of running to green pastures, make your own. Instead of running abroad, i believe we can fix this country.
But bro you sound like a rapper, you into music? Lol
Cheers

What you think and call basic clarifications are not basic.

It's just an advice. Even if it means starting from page 1300 till date, I tell you, you will be more grounded with recent informations.
So take your time and go through, that's my humble advice.
I understand you bro...i came from iyke's other thread...so i know what I meant when I said I know the basics. My main issue is keywords and issues related to keywords. When I mean basics I mean strategy, dos and don't. But since I am still new I am not expected to know the keywords and their definitions fast...understanding those is as time goes. But if it is knowing what I am doing, I do. Meanwhile, I don't intend leaving the thread till I cover a large number of pages. Personally, I think anybody that has read from page 1 to 37 should have basic knowledge of what this is about. As he goes on, his horizon broadens.

God bless you for this comment! It's a thing of joy seeing someone that sees things in this light.

I try in my own little way to correct people who curse others for doing the right thing, such as returning lost or misplaced valuables. Sadly, I am not sure if what I tell them has any effect.

You'd even be shocked that people you thought are religious even have these erroneous views. shocked

Yet, everybody na holy pass when talking about what politicians do.

Well said man. Sorry guys for derailing.

We are all not okay in this country. Forget the politicians, we all have our own commission. In fact some Nigerians do worse than a politician will do.

We all keep shouting the politicians are old and out of ideas, lol, give a youth a local government chairman and see the stupidity he will do, talkless of governor, minister or president. In fact, give the average Nigerian youth some millions and u will see how he will think he has arrived, lol.

A typical example is this N-power stuff, u will see someone earning 80-100k per month applying for Npower! A saw a school headmaster applying for Npower, we all think it's okay, but believe u me, that's how corruption starts. Imagine if that person is now given public fund to manage, do u think he won't misappropriate?

Lol, untop naija issue person fit right a billion pages, so make i stop here.

You, I, we, them, all of us are guilty!
Well said, this our 'smartness' nonsense is the most annoying thing in Nigeria. We need to get it right. Most of those moves are corruption, but we're ok with them. It's a shame you see elders, people's respected parents in the society indulging in these acts, and we always say 'everybody is doing it'. Dear Lord, I don't know if Nigerians think there will be a different heaven for them.
Wake up! We're already centuries behind!

Would've loved to quote this whole post if not for space. This should be post of the year and be on NL's front page. Nigerians are us, we are Nigerians. I keep saying it that most of the people shouting bad governance today only need to be given secretary to the assistant secretary of one LGA chairman and you'll see their true colours. Small government contract but we'll pad the living hell out of the budget and still under-deliver.

Ikhalyfah rightly mentioned that N-POWER stuff. Many people jumped on that thing not because of work but to get free income. It's the crazy country we find ourselves. The average Nigerian is corrupt, always seeking to cut corners to the detriment of others. It's a sad thing to say but we have to be honest.

It won't be easy changing the whole country, but on a personal level we can try our best at being the change we want to see

Truly said.
