No you cannot because they will request your admission letter,degree certificate and passport data page. It must tally with the name in the account and BVN. You can hurriedly open an account with Stanbic IBTC. The rate for today dropped to 478.77 to a pounds sterling

He has a PhD scholarship at the University of Edinburgh that covers his tuition but no maintenance fees. He will be applying for his tier 4 visa in Berlin because that's where he is currently based, studies will be taking him out of Germany.

Is it possible for me to deposit around 5,000 pounds in his account for the 28 or more days? If he were to be asked at his interview, can he say his older sister gave him the money? He currently works too but his own savings wont be enough for the bank statement. I also intend to continue to support him with his living expenses while he's in the UK. Our parents are retired and yea, they cant be his sponsors. What will you advice?

Sure you can do that, source of money is not a common question during the interview but if asked he should know that a brother can not sponsor him.

My friend is currently pregnant and will be applying for a tier 4 visa but with all the delays she just want to be sure of any extra costs if the baby comes after visa is issued.

Secondly can i use 3 accounts to show as proof of funds? Is there a limit to the account one can use. I'm using a dom account and two savings accounts. Will that be accepted?

First. Congratulations to your friend, this is a tricky one but my guess it she might need to apply for a tier 4 dependant visa for the baby. Not sure there is a proper advice on babies born outside the UK but I know they have for inside the UK (I am assuming the baby will be born in Nigeria) if not, then NHS covers delivery in the UK

2. Ensure these bank statements are reflected in your visa application. Read through https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-application-for-uk-visa-as-tier-4-student maintenance funds bit

1. Since your friend will pay for NHS immigration surcharge, giving birth is free as you are eligible to use NHS with same right as citizens.

2. Why not just use one savings account and one dorm account for ease. If you insist, then you can use it. Ensure the total money does not decrease below the 28 day count. Write it in the additional information section in your visa application that you are using three accounts fotr proof. My fear is that they might miss the account if you do not state it explicitly,.

When I was renewing my Schengen visa early this year, I went to get a statement from GTB as usual, and they printed it out already stamped and signed and informed me that that pre-stamped and signed statement was what they now issue for visa purposes and that it was official and would be accepted. I argued with the lady in customer service for a while, she stood her ground, so I took it like that and left.

I got the visa, but again, I've had several Schengen visas in the past, so who knows if they even looked at the paperwork in detail.

UKVI definitely accept it for visiting visas so I would assume that’s the case for Tier 4. Hopefully, someone can confirm this.

If I am going for top-up that will make me cross to Postgraduate study after completing the top up study, am I eligible to travel with dependant if am going for top up now?

No, you won't be able to take a dependant until it's time for the postgraduate part of your studies.

Normally, it's the original certificate of the qualification(s) stated on your CAS.
