Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by graceodini: 5:07pm On Jul 16, 2020
Good afternoon great people. Please I want to reschedule my appointment. In my form I stated that am spending 10days in the UK during part of my 2020 annual leave but I couldn't have my leave again due to the pandemic. I want to know if I should include in my cover letter that I am spending like 24 days now due to new covid 19 self isolation rule which state that we need to self isolate for the first 14 days and the remaining 10 days Will be for my normal tour/visit. Though I won't spend up to that anyway because I need to come back to work. Should I also state a new departure and arrival dates in my cover letter because am planning to go now in November? Thanks

Adding the 2 weeks self - isolation cost to your budget might lead to you spending more than twice your monthly disposable income on this trip. I think you should state just 10 days. The self - isolation rule might not be in place by the time you will be travelling.

Thanks for your response. Though my budget is £650 and my salary is 200k but my monthly living expenses is 32k. My friend is hosting me though. So did you mean I should state the new arrival and departure dates to be 10 days? So I can also do flight reservation for 10 days.

I expect you to do that. Great minds in the house should throw more light on whether or not this self - isolation period will be included in trip duration and the cost on trip budget.

In that self service,is there any specific size the PDF has to be or it is more about clarity?

My application was awaiting decision (after biometrics) before the shutdown. I was to go for a training though. Now that the training dates indicated in the application has passed, I wonder how they will handle the application. They will have so many issues like the one I just stated.
Are they going to deny the application now cos our reasons for travel is no longer valid and has been altered or they are going to ask us to reapply(free of charge) or just issue out travel visas to us just like that even when we may not have reasons to travel again cos of change in plans
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by FYsol: 10:07pm On Jul 16, 2020
By rule of thumb you qualify to apply for 2years visa after getting 6 months visa. You need no explanation.

My people... my people let us wait for the people to open and then issue directives na... we have not experienced pandemic before or this kind of shutting down and then reopening of visa office to know what will be applicable.
Exercise patience

Good day.

I previously applied for a 6months UK visa in January last year. It was approved and I used it in October for just 10 days trip.

I intend to travel again in January 2021 and I want to apply for a 2 years visa instead of 6months.

It is a better idea to go for a 2years visa or stick with 6months for now? The sole reason for thinking of 2 years is to avoid another stress of the application process if need be to visit within 2 years.

I dont know if I should call it a rumour or I read it somewhere, someone told me you can pay approximately £140 at the Heathrow airport for covid19 test in order to skip the 14 days quarantine.
Please house I dont know how true this is....
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Graceee: 11:41am On Jul 17, 2020
'Red list' passengers arriving at Heathrow could avoid quarantine by paying for Covid test
The Government is being urged to back a testing pilot for Covid-19 that would allow Heathrow arrivals to avoid 14 days of quarantine
